154 Tasting Notes
I received this gratis as part of a recent order from 52Teas. I cold brewed it overnight and it is very flavorful. My thoughts seem to yo-yo between liking it and disliking it, depending on the sip. It is very blueberry forward, but it almost reminds me of a blueberry muffin candle in the taste that I get at the end of the sip, lingering.
Flavors: Berries, Bread, Fruit Tree Flowers, Jam
Preparation
I received this in my tea swap with Nattie. I won’t feel too bad about being harsh on this tea since she admitted she didn’t like it and she custom-blended it!
The garlic in this is very strong and in the front of the sip. It stays all through and continues into the next sip. I get a little bit of chili at the beginning, but it’s overpowered by the garlic in the end. Honestly, it tastes like eating garlic bread, which, if you’re in the mood for, might be good. I could see this as being sipped as a savory tea if you had a stomach ache, similar to broth but lighter.
Flavors: Chicken Soup, Leeks
Preparation
Oh my goodness, this tea smells absolutely divine when brewing! I didn’t notice I was sniffing my tea tumbler until the person I was meeting with gave me a quizzical look, wondering what I was doing. The smell is spot on for roasted apple.
The taste is like a grown up, unsweetened apple juice or cider. I actually prefer this over cider or juice since those can get so sweet. I’m bummed that I used up my whole sample from Suziqzer in this brewing, but I’ll be sure to savor it.
Flavors: Anise, Cinnamon, Cloves, Fruit Tree Flowers, Honey, Mineral, Vanilla
Preparation
Based on the smell, I didn’t think I would like this tea at all. While brewing it has a very strong medicinal smell. It calms down a bit and while sipping reminds me or herbal sodas like traditional birch beer, root beer, and dandelion/burdock soda. Some sips taste a bit too floral and soapy, but other sips are clean and herbal.
Thanks for the sample Suziqzer! I have another serving left & will re-evaluate when I taste again.
Flavors: Anise, Autumn Leaf Pile, Corn Husk, Wood
Preparation
This is a lovely sample from my Hapa-tite! Tea Swap, thanks Suziqzer.
This is a rooibos base, so surprisingly I was not much of a fan. It does have a slight creamy taste, but I think that comes with the rooibos inherently. I would have liked to get some cinnamon and nutmeg flavors, maybe even some rum.
Flavors: Honey
Preparation
I drank this plain and it actually tastes pretty good! I don’t get the malted taste, but I do get a nice roasty, chocolate taste with hints of coffee.
Flavors: Chocolate, Cocoa, Dark Bittersweet, Espresso, Leather, Malt, Tar, Tobacco
