Flavors: Artificial, Vanilla
Though roasted, this tea is still light. The aroma is of roasted corn, nuts, and leaves—perfect for the first crisp day of Autumn. Sipping on the tea after brewing, I get a strong taste of barley, but it isn’t strong enough to be off-putting. This would be great brewed as an iced tea with some honey, or brewed extra strong since the flavor was a bit watery for me.

Sadly, the main taste I get from this cup is an astringent, smoky and ashy taste. Once the bitterness subsides a little bit, I then get a grassy and mineral taste. The end has a little sweetness from the coconut, but it is very much in the background. This tea reminds me of sipping on a marshmallow over a campfire—a marshmallow that I burned and caught on fire, where the predominant flavor is ashy and bitter with a sweet after taste.

Smells delightfully smoky, like a campfire. The first taste when inhaling is smoke, but then the refreshing mint comes through. The mint cools the heat of the smoke and makes the tea lighter. It also brings a nice level of sweetness and takes the deep edge off the smokiness. I’m really liking this tea, thanks kimquat for the sample!

Wow, the first tea that I like — sweetness goes well with the tart hibiscus. Smells grassy & herbaceous with a hint of straw. Then the tart astringency of the hibiscus comes through, but quickly quelled by the stevia. All in all a pretty good tea. I imagine this would be awesome iced, as hibiscus always is.
This tea is quite decadent. Dried leaf aroma smells exactly the same as the way it tastes, which I always love. This is like drinking a nice, hot version of vanilla ice cream and orange sherbet, but less sweet. The first taste is of a strong vanilla, then it ebbs a little bit into some floral fruit flowers, a bit of oak and rum, then comes back to the creaminess. Sadly, I think the oolong is a little lost in this blend, but it still tastes very good. I don’t think I could drink this too often since it is a heavier tea, but I have brewed it up several times and gulped it down before writing any notes!

Thanks Kimquat for the sample! Honestly, was a littttle scared of the name.
Smells like a strong citrus followed by black tea. It reminds me of an english breakfast, pekoe, or earl grey tea. The sip is strong with a bit of astringency at the end, but a buttery smoothness in the front and clean citrus taste in the middle. This almost reminds me of eating a nice slice of citrus pound cake in the morning.
