Yikes, it took me this long to enter all these Amoda teas into the system and actually try one. It’s been a obnoxious last few days, quite frankly, so now I’m just trying to sort through some of the stupidity that has been thrown my way and enjoy some good things in life in the process.

This is so ridiculously pepperminty that when you initially steep the tea, it smells like straight up peppermint tea, but once you sip on it, oh, there’s the black base, and there’s the smooth vanilla. Hmm, it’s similar to Della Terra’s Swiss Mountain in terms of the level of minty freshness. The chocolate is on the weaker side but I don’t mind since all the flavours blend together so well and create a joyous cup.

I think what I’m learning is that I tend to enjoy chocolate mint teas that are very generous with the peppermint leaf. Loved Swiss Mountain which was very generous with it, and besides Shamrocks & Shenanigans (a lot more vanilla in that one), was a favourite chocolate mint tea from Della Terra. And as everyone knows, I’m obsessed with Zen Tea’s rooibos offering, which is packed with peppermint leaves. Although not chocolate mint, compare these to DAVIDsTEA’s Santa’s Secret, which while decent, lacks that ultra frosty peppermint bite.

I added some whole milk to my mug after a few cups and I find it brings out the creamy chocolate vanilla aspect more, making this less of a straight up peppermint tea and more of a creamy dessert tea.
