drank Melon Drop by DAVIDsTEA

Well just picked up the entire spring collection plus the tea of the month. Willpower officially none existent.

This is the first one I’ve tried out of the spring collection. Dry mix is very sticky and clumped together. It smells delicious though, and tastes like it smells. Flavours are all mixed together at first, predominantly melon but not a specific kind, then the kiwi, and finally a strong taste of honeydew. Will most certainly be trying this iced in the next few days, but so far so good.

Flavors: Honeydew, Melon

drank Redberry Tonic by DAVIDsTEA

How have I not had this iced before?! Delicious.

As I suspected, cold really brings out the tartness and hibiscus in this. Fortunately I’m not a huge hibiscus hater. The berry notes are more subtle when cold. Did choose to add some agave but probably could’ve gotten through it without. Overall very refreshing. I’ve only got enough left for one more cup and I’ll have a tough decision between hot and iced.

drank Red Velvet Cake by DAVIDsTEA

Well this tea has certainly gotten me back into rich, sweet teas again. I almost never have the same tea twice in one day. Tried it as a latte this time. While I did prefer if black, the latte brought out different aspects of it and was still very enjoyable. I found the tea and chocolate was more prominent, and the taste of cake came out more than the taste of frosting (which ended up a little lost among the dairy). Similarly the maple notes were far less noticeable. Sad that I worked my way through my entire sample in one day as I really enjoyed this one. I’ll likely pick up more of this once I’ve worked through some of my other chocolaty teas.

Mmm, this tea certainly lives up to it’s namesake. While the initial sip is fairly tea heavy, it quickly makes you feel like you’ve just taken a bite of red velvet cake. A light maple and chocolaty taste and cream cheese frosting. Only complaint is that it seems to leave your mouth rather dry.

drank Cherry Blossom by DAVIDsTEA

Mmm…sour cherry blasters in a cup! Yes, it tastes rather artificial, but deliciously so. There’s even a certain tartness that gives it that mouth puckering sour feeling. Giving it a chance to cool down brings out the tea and floral notes in this. Love the candy, so I love the tea, but be warned it’s more like eating a bag of gummies than a bag of cherries.

Tried this one iced today. As I noticed when my hot cup had cooled down a little, this tea tastes very different cold. I don’t really notice the fruitiness and the taste reminds me of a cross between green tea and camomile. It’s not unpleasant, but having never been a fan of camomile I’m not a huge fan. Definitely prefer this one rather hot which brings out the peach.

drank Movie Night by DAVIDsTEA

When I first started shopping at David’s Tea, there were a few teas that I vowed I would never try; movie night was one of those.

I ended up with a small sample of it the after buying a boxed set of the Sweetheart Collection and I have to say it’s not as bad as I feared. It’s quite buttery and predominant flavours seems to be apple and caramel, but it’s not overpoweringly sweet. Like popcorn, it’s rather unoffensive and you can just keep drinking it without really caring one way or the other. I certainly wouldn’t pick it out if I was given other options, but the cup I had was fine. I’ve still got enough left for one more cup, which I’m sure I’ll enjoy when the mood strikes.

Initially very excited to try this tea; it smelled wonderful and had a decent review.

First impression was orange, but there was something else I couldn’t quite place. Further into the cup I realized it tasted exactly like the smell of The Body Shop’s mango products. Very mango-y, but artificially so. Just couldn’t get over the fact that it felt like I was drinking body wash. Happy to say I don’t have any of this left.

Last night I visited a friend’s house. I noticed her tea collection and she last me take home a few samples, including this one.

At first sip I get lemon and a light peachy sweetness. It’s fruity and juicy. As the cup cools down the juiciness fades and a taste almost similar to camomile, but not as intense, comes out. Overall I like it, but prefer it before it has a chance to cool down.

Tried this one iced today and it is SO much better. Mango followed by papaya with a hint of green tea. Boosted it a few points for that. Still not sure I’d buy it again.
