382 Tasting Notes
Strong chocolate and caramel aroma, with solid, malty black tea base.
The taste is not that good. I generally like Fredsted teas, but this one tastes like a steeped cardboard – bland, watery, with artificial flavouring.
Flavors: Cardboard
Preparation
Very balanced, complex taste, with subtle orange notes, base white flower tea in the background, slight floral aromas (mainly jasmine) and overall refreshing, soothing quality.
Flavors: Citrus, Floral, Jasmine, Orange, Straw
Preparation
Average level of the corporate and bag-packed black tea.
Not much in aroma department.
Slight earthy and malty notes in taste, it certainly isn’t strong. Just an unobtrusive cheap tea that accompanied work quite well.
Flavors: Earth, Malt
Preparation
Gunpowder beads expand wonderfully, giving reddish hue.
Beautiful aroma, with plenty of jasmine and earthy notes.
Assertive, earthy taste, with distinct astringency and slight bitterness.
Really good tea. Too bad it’s probably very hard to find. Mine was brought to me as the gift from Taiwan.
Flavors: Astringent, Bitter, Earth, Jasmine
Preparation
The visual effect of a blooming flower is overwhelming, but the tea itself really takes time to brew and enjoy, because at first it’s very watery and disappointing.
It took about fifteen minutes for the strong aroma to develop. Nice sweetish strawberry and grassy notes of the base white tea, plus subtle flowery aromas from jasmine and rose..
The taste is slightly sour, very fresh, with strong strawberry notes and good-quality white tea in the background.
Probably the second steep, after unraveling all the threads, is going to be even more rewarding.
Flavors: Flowers, Freshly Cut Grass, Jasmine, Rose, Sour, Straw, Strawberry
Preparation
Murky gold, smells sweetish and very fruity, with plenty of mango and fig opuntia notes.
The base green tea dominates in taste, the fruits are subdued, in the background.
Not bad.
Flavors: Fruity, Mango
Preparation
A lot of flower character that is well balanced with the base rooibos notes, plus a bit of caramel and strong fruity characteristics.
The taste is very rich, slightly sweetish, complex. Good alternative to my everyday theine teas.
Flavors: Caramel, Flowers, Jam, Rose
Preparation
Very strong green tea aroma, refreshing and citrusy.
Unfortunately the taste is very watery and bland. There are slight citrusy, spicy and straw notes, but too scarce.
Flavors: Citrus, Lemon, Straw
Preparation
Nicely balanced strawberry and lemongrass aroma, with slight grassy and straw green tea undertones.
And good taste, slightly tart, fruity.
Much better than majority of Pickwick teas.
Flavors: Citrus, Grass, Lemongrass, Straw, Strawberry
Preparation
The very first impression is great – the bag smells wonderful, like a freshly cut vanilla bean.
After brewing the vanilla component is still nice, but there are also some wet cardboard notes, rather unpleasant.
The taste is sweetish, a bit malty, with no bitterness nor astringency.
All in all it’s not bad.
Flavors: Cardboard, Malt, Vanilla
