4 Tasting Notes
This was originally when I feel in love with very good tea. Peet’s Jasmine Downy Pearls was fabulous! Cup after cup, tin after tin. It was my everyday pot of tea and was still special year after year. Then when Peet’s transferred their teas over to Mighty Leaf, the jasmine pearls went up in price AND down in quality. Over processed, bitter not delicate, the flavor went downhill. It was really depressing. That started my now years long search for a good replacement.
Tried this in my unending exploration for the perfect jasmine pearl. I was excited about this company but the tea arrived looking burnt. I wondered if they had pawned off the bad batch on me but I had purchased 2 bags and both turned out to be over processed. I have seen this with McNultys before as well but this was worse. It was a power punch with flavor but no subtlies, not fresh, overprocessed. I wont’ order from them again
I ordered this tea from reviews I’d read here. It is beautiful. Light, fresh, subtle flavors. Does not overpower. A truly delicate, delightful tea but strong enough for the morning wake up? No doubt the quality is high
