Tea of the Week for November 8, 2021:Crangerine Salad Green Rooibos
Greetings, Tea Friends!
I hope all is well!
Crangerine Salad Green Rooibos – A caffeine-free blend of green rooibos, lemongrass, marshmallow root, cranberries & tangerines. I was inspired by the idea of our famous Lime Jello Green Tea, and decided to imagine a similar salad – but with cranberries & tangerines – something that was caffeine free! I love the way this one turned out!
AND – ICYMI: our tea of the week for November 1, 2021 . . .
Ginger Pear Pecan Black Tea – I’ve blended a few Pear Green Teas, Pear Tisanes & even at least 1 Pear white tea, but I don’t remember the last time I’ve blended a Pear black tea. So, I decided to do that.
This blend starts with a blend of black teas (Assam, Ceylon & Yunnan) & combined these teas with a bunch of freeze-dried pears & ginger root (both dried ginger root & crystalized ginger root). Then I added just a touch of Pecan essence (don’t worry, it’s nut free! Yes, you read that right!)
This tea is very interesting: it’s a completely different tea depending upon how you drink it. If you drink it piping hot, you’ll get a pecan forward cup with lovely notes of ginger that weave their way throughout the sip & hints of pear. If you allow the tea to cool for about 10 – 15 minutes, the pear begins to pop & it becomes a pear & ginger cuppa with a lovely pecan finish.
It’s also a different cup depending upon whether you add sweetener or not. A little bit of sugar brings more pear forward. Adding a little bit of brown sugar instead of sugar makes this taste like a ginger pear crumble. I haven’t tried this as a latte yet – but I might do that next.
I’ve had a lot of fun with this tea, but I think my favorite way to drink it is letting it cool for 15 minutes & drinking it without additions. Lovely pear notes!
I feel a bit like a mind reader with the Blood Orange Creamsicle blend, haha!
The new site looks great though, and I’m excited for this year’s 12 Days selection! :)
That’s not all – though – because you also mentioned on a totally different post from a different company about how you didn’t like the word “flan” – and our featured reblend for August … contains that word in the name in the tea. (I’ll be announcing the tea on Monday but I’m sure that totally gave it away anyway.)
Thanks about the comments on the new website. I spent a lot of hours on it – but I’m happy with it. It just – looks better. Maybe it’s just because I looked at the same website for 6 years but the other one felt so old fashioned and clunky.
I’m also very excited to see these updates again. Loving the new site, it looks great!
I’m so sad I missed the 12 Teas box…no idea how I managed that. I filled out the form, so hoping there is an extra I can purchase! :)
