Considering the long delays in international shipping, I thought this thread might be relevant again. I’ve added a couple new vendors and will list even more based on the comments.

Aside from Camellia Sinensis, which is quickly running out of tea, where have you bought decent Taiwanese oolong in Canada? I’ll be placing far fewer tea orders this year, but I can’t live without some 2020 bug-bitten oolong, Li Shan, and Shan Lin Xi!

Not actually a Canadian vendor, but both myself and another tea friend located in Montreal placed orders with Taiwan Tea Crafts and we received our orders in less than a week – not sure how much of that was just luck, but figured I’d mention it.

I placed an order with Taiwan Tea Crafts about a month ago and got within a week too. At first I was so amazed because it was listed as free shipping but it turned out they shipped courier and I got the charges (and import charges) on a separate charge on my credit card. I was so happy to get some 2020 spring teas early but a little ticked about the deceitfulness of the shipping charge.

That’s great! I know they do express shipping for orders over US$75, as regular shipments from Taiwan to Canada have been suspended. Now, can I justify getting $75 worth of oolongs? (Maybe.)

Forgot about this place an old Quebecois acquaintance of mine used to buy tea from this company and they do have some Taiwanese teas. http://www.sebz.ca/en/category/oolong-tea/

That’s okay. :) Sebz has some nice Taiwanese teas. I actually just placed an order with Cha Yi Tea House in Quebec, which has quite a few 2020 arrivals, including some from Taiwan. It’s my first order from this company, so I hope it’s good!

It I’ll be interesting to here your opinion. I’ve browsed their site but have never bought from them.

I’ll hopefully post some reviews in the next few weeks. I talked to the owner and he seems knowledgeable, so I decided to give them a try.

@Ubacat, I also thought Taiwan Tea Crafts would cover the shipping charges under the promotion they’ve been running. You’re not technically supposed to be charged import taxes on tea, at least in Canada, but I’ve had FedEx do this for tea shipments from Taiwan in the past. I hope the 2020 oolongs you received are good!

I got some stuff from Yuuki-Cha that was sent by DHL, and I was also charged an import tax (plus their processing fee, which was much higher than the tax actually).

Ouch. I don’t remember being charged a processing fee when I got an order from Teakruthi via DHL last year. I think they just do this randomly, or maybe it’s country specific? Let’s hope regular shipping opens up again over the summer.
