2019 Advent Calendars

Mariage Freres just put their calendar up for sale on their site. It’s 39.00€ and 20 more for shipping to the states. I can’t justify that much in shipping for one item and you only get one teabag per day which makes it 2.45€ a teabag. Seems steep. :( https://www.mariagefreres.com/FR/2-noel-sublime-calendrier-de-noel-2019-E98700.html

Kusmi has theirs listed as in stock on their US site. $45 for the advent and $6 in shipping. Which is reasonable for both. Their advent includes two mini tins. https://us-en.kusmitea.com/tea-advent-calendar.html

So now I have to decide if I go with Kusmi or wait for TeaGschwendner to release theirs.

Has anyone tried their teas before? I was considering buying this calendar since the price is decent, but I don’t have any experience with their teas.

@AJRimmer, I have subscribed to them for a while and order frequently. I love love love them and as an added bonus, the people are lovely. I have yet to find anything there I dislike – of course there are things I like more than others, but I’ve never disliked anything. Oh, wait, there was a pumpkin spice one I disliked, but since I don’t like ANYTHING pumpkin spice, I can’t blame them for that one!

Thanks for sharing your experience with them! I ordered the calendar! I’m excited to try everything!

Tea Bento is now taking preorders for their advent on instagram – it’s their first year doing one, and as far as I can tell it’s the only one out their with very traditional straight teas outside of the standard “English Breakfast” type of straight teas…

I ordered one – I’ve been looking for a straight tea advent for a few years now, and I’ve had very good experiences w/ their teas in the past.

For those keeping track, I’ve got five advents now – DAVIDsTEA, Bird & Blend, Tea Revv, Tea Bento, and Dammann Freres. Plus the 52Teas “12 Days” set…

Also, it looks like no one has mentioned that T2 announced their advent for the year – two in fact! A loose leaf and a sachet option.

Betjeman and Barton is going to be doing one as well it seems. I wonder if they will send them to some of their international stores?

Ooh, that’s adorable!

As a head’s up, it looks like a couple of these are already sold out (like Kusmi and maybe Mariage Freres?).

I saw that with the Kusmi one. I didn’t decide fast enough. :(
