Traveling tea box?

Hi! Just wondering if there are any traveling tea boxes still running in the US or if anyone wanted to start another one!

I’d be up for a traveling tea box.

I’m in Canada but would love to participate. I’ve got some teas I don’t enjoy but I think others would really like. It would be nice to pass those along to others.

I’d enjoy participating as well. Definitely have a lot of spare tea at the moment.

What is a travelling Tea Box? sounds very exciting

Typically the organizer arranges the participant list in geographical order and the box travels from person to person, where they add/subtract tea from the box. Sometimes tea companies even donate some samples.

It would make sense for Arby to be the starting point that way the box only has to pass an international border once.

I can def start it. I also have an IRL friend who will be participating (adding and removing some teas). I will be responsible for the whereabouts of the box and the shipping.

I got together with my friend and we assembled a teabox of ~20-25 different teas (I still need to go through mine again) so we will probably have ~30 total. I can start, but it will mean someone has to send it back to me at the end.

Has this already started? I’ve always wanted to participate in one of these!

Arby said

It has not started yet but I’m ready whenever everyone else is.

Hi Arby! I would love to participate if there is still space available. I live in Alabama. I’ve never participated in a traveling tea box but have done a few swaps through Steepster. I haven’t been great about keeping up with my tealog this past year, but I’m getting back into it. If you want to wait until I’m writing more consistently, I totally understand. :)

Thanks for the reply!

Also, I’m good with shipping to Canada.

I can send it back to Arby in Canada if we keep the weight down? Are there ways to send boxes cheaper to CA from the US? I’m in Wyoming if that makes a difference.

It is not as expensive as people make it out to be. I’ve done several TTB before and shipping to the US is only $15-30 CAD (which is $11-23 USD). I assume prices from US to CAN are similar. We can easily keep weight down by not including any tins or large quantities.

True, you can always keep anything heavy so you don’t have to pay to ship it! :P but okay, I guess we’ve got several people now. What’s the official order this thing will go in?
