Featured Tasting Notes Issue?
The featured tasting notes on the Steepster landing page haven’t changed for me for 3 months now. I was wondering if this is an issue with my laptop maybe, or whether they’re not changing for anyone else, either. Up until that point they’ve always changed every couple of days or so, and I’m just wondering why. I like looking at the featured notes whenever there’s an interesting discussion going on, or a tea or Steepsterite I haven’t heard of but should. I hope it starts up again!
There is a featured tasting notes section? I only know of the Browse > Tasting Notes under Explore, and that is still showing the most recent for me.
If you go to the Steepster homepage (not the dashboard, just steepster.com, where you log in from) it’s below the search bar and sign up, and above the recent discussions, Steepster blog, and connect with us sections. It rotates through a few featured notes which up until a couple of months back used to change regularly. It’s how I found most of the people I follow! (:
I guess I’ve never gone to just steepster.com since it isn’t a hotlink on the top bar, which I tend to always use for navigation (and the steepster icon goes to the dashboard, not that main page, hense I pretty much never see it). Can confirm those tasting notes are 3 months old.
Though if you hit the Explore button at the top, under Browse > Tasting Notes, it will show you the most recently posted Tasting Notes for the whole site, and that is updating properly.

But yeah, they’ve been the same for a while, haven’t been keeping track. I think my Muzha Tieguanyin review has been on the logged-out Steepster front page for a while and that has lead to quite a few spam accounts following me.
It would also be nice to see a refresh on the “Featured Members” section as well, which I’m pretty sure hasn’t changed in years. Most of the people who show up there are inactive now…
Featured notes has been updated! Not sure about featured members, as I don’t know how to navigate to that page.
We were talking about the Featured Members that show up on the https://steepster.com/explore page, down at the bottom. 18 icons show up there, and of those, only 6 of them are still active members (“active” as in, have posted within the last year). All the rest haven’t posted in 3 or more years (some haven’t in as many as 7 years!) It would just be nice if that real estate rotated out members that were actually currently active users on the site.
