What's your experience with USPS international first class mail?

There was a time I used USPS to ship my ebay package from the US and it went a little bit slow… I waited for almost one whole month until the package was sent to my place. Later on I simply turned to use other delivery company. My current favourite is Transbang (http://bit.ly/2Q81yYa), I have ebay seller sending my items to Transbang warehouse, and Transbang will deliver my package. TBH this service is way more faster than USPS.

Never heard of them but they look like they are mainly for shipping to China and Japan from the US if I am reading the website correctly.

Well, Transbang is a fairly new company, so I wouldn’t presume many people would know them. Transbang can help you ship items from the US and Japan. I’ve got one friend who loves shopping from Japanese websites and sticks on using Transbang. She gives me their information… so I tried them. It went out really well. I’m glad to recommend this company to anyone who needs options for international shipping.

USPS International Priority Mail is horrible. Spend the extra money and ship Fedex. USPS is just not set up to ship efficiently internationally and their communication is vague at best. Example, I shipped a package from Columbus, Ohio to Arica Chile. I subscribed to the USPS Text Tracking updates:

Shipped on February 16 – “Request for Package Delivered Confirmed”
February 16 – “in transit to next facility.” which facility?
February 17 – “in transit to next facility.” – which facility?
February 19 – " departed USPS Chicago IL International Distribution Center" – OK, opposite direction than to Chile, but OK.
February 20 – “In transit to next facility.”
February 21 – “In transit to next facility.”
February 21 – “CHICAGO IL International Distribution Center.” – um, okay but it “departed” on February 19.
February 22 – “Arrived at CHICAGO IL INTERNATIONAL DISTRIBUTION CENTER” – WTF?
February 22 – “Processed Through CHICAGO IL INTERNATIONAL DISTRIBUTION CENTER” – still in Chicago
February 22 – Arrived at O’HARE INTL AIRPORT CHICAGO
February 22 – Departed O’HARE INTL AIRPORT CHICAGO
February 23 – Departed METRO AREA ATLANTA UNITED STATES
February 24 – Departed ARTURO MERION BENITEZ AIRPORT SANTIAGO CHILE – great, package made it to Chile!
No more news for 4 days…
February 28 – “Processed Through Facility.”
February 28 – “Processed through SANTIAGO OCPI CP CHILE.” Package has been knocking around for 4 days, but is still in Santiago.

Fedex would have had my package to the destination in 3 days – cost $155, which is a lot of money. USPS – cost $44 – cheaper, yes – but you definitely get what you pay for.
