Tea Pot Warmer
From many of my posts, I prefer my tea hot, especially chai. I was hoping to keep my chai teas warmer longer with a tea pot warmer (like the glass or cast iron ones with a tealight candle). I was wondering though: most of my teapots are ceramic (not cast iron) has anyone used a cast iron warmer with a ceramic tea pot? Does it work? Will it break? Any advice/experience would be very helpful. Thanks!
The tea house we go to uses tea cozies and they keep the (ceramic) pots QUITE hot. Have you looked into those?
No, I never thought of those…That would work. Wonder if I would have trouble getting one that would fit the beehouse teapots though.
I think my tealight warmer’s stainless steel, not cast iron, but it works fine with ceramic teapots with a 2-3 cup capacity. When I break out the big Brown Betty, it cools off a little sooner than I’d like.
I have a 22 ounce beehouse teapot. My 2 cup size Thistle Down cozie works just great! Maybe that will help you determine the size you need for your beehouse.
Here is where I ordered my cozie from:

You should check out Etsy for unique handmage tea cozies. I did have better luck when I searched on “tea cosy” with the quotes around and using a s instead of with a z.

You may have to hit the Search button to get the cozies to appear. I’ve also had great luck making my own using felt from an old sweater that I had srunk.
