Help with my first YS order, 2nd Order Oct/Nov 2015

I’ve been putting together an order for awhile but finally got to creating it. I’m posting here to see if anyone has a mere 4g of anything I’m looking at, split an order with me, or swap 50/50 when I get mine in for what it is competing against.

Here’s what I’m looking at:

Ripe cake
http://yunnansourcing.com/en/ripepu-erh/3246-2005-yang-pin-hao-peacock-ripe-pu-erh-tea-cake.html vs http://yunnansourcing.com/en/langhe-tea-factory/3332-2006-langhe-peacock-tribute-gong-ting-ripe-pu-erh-tea-cake.html

(would there be much difference between one year of production?)

Raw cake:

Oolong:

(completely different, but not sure which one I want)

Black:
http://yunnansourcing.com/en/wuyimountainrockoolongs/3379-premium-grade-jin-jun-mei-fujian-black-tea-of-wu-yi-shan-spring-2014.html vs http://yunnansourcing.com/en/wuyimountainrockoolongs/3396-imperial-grade-jin-jun-mei-from-tong-mu-guan-village-spring-2015.html

Random:

Anyone try this yet?

I don’t have any of these and can’t help with comparisons, but I’d be willing to split the blacks with you – maybe work a swap on the Tealeaves order. Let me know.

Whatever you’d prefer, I can easily swap out whatever I get in my YS order that you want for the Tealeaves. I also have some wild DianHong coming from China right now as well. I just won’t know the amount to pay you tomorrow :/

Not worried about it. Won’t be till I get the order that I’ll know what shipping to you will cost anyway. However it works out. :)

It looks like they didn’t make there way to my cart (as shown below)

I have the 2015 Jin Jun Mei. Have included a sample in the package I am already putting together for you.

Thanks :)

I’d go in on the Bang Dong with you if you get it. I had it in my cart when I placed my order a few days ago, but took it out in a lame and never-ending effort to get my tea spending under control. So now of course I’m going to wonder about it. I have a whole 2002 Gu Fo Aged Ripe cake coming my way, I’d also be happy to swap some of that if you’re interested. I’m a huge fan of it.

It’s currently winning right now. Someone is actually sending me a sample of it so I will know next weekend if it is a for sure purchase. If we split it, you will just have to let me know how much you want and how you want me to store it for shipping when it comes to you.

Cool, just let me know and we’ll figure out the particulars :-)

The two ripes you pick are different tea factories, so there will be a difference.

So what you are saying is I should buy both :P
I actually missed that… I just saw that they were ripe peacock cakes.

I actually may have the Lange cake but I didn’t get it from Yunnan Sourcing. At least I have a cake with that wrapper, don’t ask me where it is in my collection. I bought it from Streetshop88 and they didn’t identify it as Lange. I am just guessing it’s the same cake because I believe the wrappers are the same. I remember it being good.

You know you’ve got a real tea collection when you have no idea where all your teas are located :)

I will take any Bang Dong remainder.

This one seems to win already :)
So far it’s going to get split into three equal portions (you, curlygc, and me)

I had samples of both Peacocks and Langhe is the winner. The other one is boring ( to me)
Bang Dong is great. Like fresh apricots. I haven’t tried that other sheng but it doesn’t sound too good. I maybe wrong ;)

Langhe it is and Band Dong seems to be the winner already :p

DRUNK ON RED or go home. That’s a must try.

Did you check .US? All your oolongs are on .US, that would save you a lot on shipping. There’s been times I’ve done orders on both sites because screw .com shipping rate. edit: also screw .com on a boat 2 to 3 month shipping.

edit
Thanks for the suggestion :)
It took awhile to look at the difference in pricing, points, and shipping. Somewhat confusing actually…

It totally is. I wish the US site had a bigger selection.

Do a cart on .US and a cart on .com. Then try a cart on .US and a cart on .com of stuff that isn’t on .us. and see what combination is cheaper.

Stuff that isn’t YS house brand I take a peek on ebay JIC it’s cheaper there as often ebay sellers do free shipping.

Yeah reading what I just typed there is confusing sounding and a lot of work too.

If they did free shipping over $100 I’d be okay…
Thanks for the info though, I’ll play around with the two different sites and figure it out by next weekend :)

While I’m at this… I just saw this was recently added and it interest me: http://yunnansourcing.com/en/ripepu-erh/3628-2015-yunnan-sourcing-menghai-lao-cha-tou-ripe-pu-erh-tea-brick.html#/quantity-1_brick_250_grams

This seems like a nice tea to drink over the next 5 years.

Also does anyone have anything listed under the "LIU AN, AND OTHERHEI CHA” section? They all look really odd which makes me want them :p

I have the 2009 Lao Cha Tou brick and recommend it, still available I believe on the US site, got mine last year for $27. YS bricks are strong, mushroom and port wine. If you get the new one, let it sit a few years. Drunk on Red is actually a black tea cake.

I bought a few of these http://yunnansourcing.com/en/liuanandotherheicha/3178-2014-yi-qing-yuan-tian-jian-hunan-hand-roasted-hei-cha-5-grams.html a while ago since they were so inexpensive and the description sounded amazing. Still haven’t tried any but after reading that description again I think I’m going to hunt for one tomorrow.

They are still inexpensive :p

I have some Imperial TGY, and it’s some incredible stuff. I believe my review is still up on here.

Would you consider it a whole level above premium TGY from other vendors?

It’s of very high quality and does stick out among other vendors. However, I’ve heard even better things of their competition grade TGY.

So… I put a limit at $80 but here I am http://postimg.org/image/nd6r2w1tn/full/

Suggestions?
