drank Melon Oolong by Lupicia
2201 tasting notes

Ah, another example of Lupicia’s delicious flavored green oolongs. This is intensely melon-y; perhaps too intense for some folks, but if you like super ripe cantaloup and green oolongs, this one is one for you. I happen to love it because it really envelops you in the melon flavor. I don’t know if I’ve ever met one of Lupicia’s flavored green oolongs that I didn’t like, and I love that they are clean fruity blends that really complement the oolong.

This also reminds me that I really need to get some Naivetea oolongs back in my cupboard because as much as I love these, Naivetea’s flavored oolongs are probably the best ever.

I absolutely adored this tea as well. Have you tried naivetea’s rose violet calendula?

Anna

ARGH! Okay. Okay, fine. I will add Naivetea oolongs to the shopping list.

Memily

I was so excited to find Lupicia is an Australian brand (or at least has an Australian store—haven’t read up on where they originated). It’s tricky for an Aussie to read so many amazing reviews from the northern hemisphere that won’t ship to us, but I’m gonna cut sick on Lupicia either online or next time I’m in Melbourne… adding this to my wish list, for sure.

TeaBrat

yes especially loved the Passionfruit by Naivetea!

Anna

Lupicia are Japanese!

Memily

Ah I see, thanks Anna! Very exciting to see a wonderful store with such a global spread.

Anna

I’m so very excited about it because I WALKED BY THEIR HEAD OFFICE when I was in Japan, haha. Fangirling here, I love Lupicia so much.

I first found them in Hawaii and thought they were Hawaiian for a while, before the staff set me straight.

Dinosara

keychange – I had that one a while ago and it was actually too floral for me! Which is amazing. Violet isn’t my fave, though.

Anna – Naivetea are worth it. The Passion Fruit and Lychee are my favorite of theirs.

Anna

Yeah, they looked good – I’m really curious about the peach, too. Because peach! Unfortunately, they only ship to the US, and I have too much tea. Maybe in the fall, though. Thanks!

Profile

Bio

I am tea obsessed, with the stash to match. I tend to really enjoy green oolongs, Chinese blacks, and flavored teas with high quality bases, especially florals, bergamot-based teas, and chocolate teas.

In my free time I am a birder, baker, and music/movie/tv addict.

Here are my rating categories, FYI:
100-90: Mind-blowingly good, just right for my palate, and teas that just take me to a happy place.
89-86: I really really like these teas and will keep most of them in the permanent collection, but they’re not quite as spectacular as the top category
85-80: Pretty tasty teas that I enjoy well enough, but definitely won’t rebuy when I run out.
79-70: Teas that I would probably drink again, but only if there were no preferrable options.
69-50: Teas that I don’t really enjoy all that much and wouldn’t drink another cup of.
49 and below: Mega yuck. This tea is just disgusting to me.
Unrated: Usually I feel unqualified to rate these teas because they are types of teas that I tend to not like in general. Sometimes user error or tea brewed under poor conditions.
