The mango, peach and white tea flavor were all good but mild. However, I couldn’t taste the Island flavor at all!

All in all it is a great tasting tea but I would like it even better if the fruit flavors were more prominent.

I thought that I would like this tea after reading the package, I really wanted to like it and I really tried to like it. However, I just couldn’t like this tea at all. I was very disappointed.

I made one cup using hot water but it had a terribly bitter after taste. I had trouble finishing the cup. I decided to make a second cup using cold water to see if that would reduce the bitter aftertaste but once again the bitter aftertaste was too much for me.

I ended up throwing out the rest of the tea bags because I never want to taste this tea again and I don’t want give it to anyone else to subject them to this either. Honestly, my taste buds think this stuff is toxic! I would have given it a 0 if that was an option.

Since the average rating was much better than mine I am wondering if I got a bad batch. I won’t be buying any more to find out.

I drank this tea hot and I really enjoyed it. It is very fruity so I think it would be good as an iced tea as well. It was surprising how fast the water turned dark red.

This was my first time trying a honeybush tea. I bought this because the name ‘honeybush’ sounds sweet and interesting. I never add sugar to my tea but I do enjoy a natural background sweetness in a tea and this tea delivers that.

The ingredient list of this tea is short. “Organic honeybush and organic vanilla extract”. I found the vanilla flavor to be very mild, in fact I am not sure if I would have recognized the vanilla flavor at all if I didn’t first read it on the box.

I see other people comparing the taste to hay. A hay flavored tea doesn’t sound appealing to me but when I drink it I see why people compare the taste to hay but I enjoyed it anyways.

In summary, I enjoyed this tea. It has a natural background sweetness, no bitter aftertaste and that’s what I like.

I liked the taste of the steamed green tea better than the regular green tea. It is a mild tasting tea and does not have the bitter aftertaste..

drank Pina Colada by Tetley

This is a very unconventional herbal tea but it was better than I expected. I enjoyed it but I don’t think this is an everyday tea.

The ingredient list has several other items I didn’t associate with a Pina Colada such as Apple, Orange peels, licorice root and white hibiscus. There is no pineapple or coconut mentioned in the ingredients so I assume the “natural flavors” must include some natural pineapple and coconut flavor.

This is a good black tea.

Just don’t make the mistake I did the first time by steeping it too long (more than 5 minutes) or it can get quite bitter.

I found this tea to have a pleasant and soothing quality to it. It has a mellow taste and a smooth feel to it. The taste is milder than many green teas.

The string falls off of the tea bag about every second time I make this tea. It kind of defeats the purpose of putting a string on the tea bag.

It reminded me of apple cider but not as sweet. Perfect if you like apple cider but don’t want all the sugar.

After steeping the tea for about 15 minutes I removed the bag and it still tasted weak. However the further down I got in the cup the stronger the tea became. The flavor is heavier than water so the taste has the tendency to concentrates at the bottom. If it doesn’t taste strong enough, I recommend to stir it well to bring the taste up from the bottom.

I just kept enjoying the tea more and more as I drank it.

For me this tea was just OK. I found the ginger to be too strong. I am not big into ginger and that might be why I wasn’t crazy about it.

Bio

I just recently got into tea (fall of 2015).

I love trying many types of tea. So far I have tried many Black, Oolong, Green and White teas as well as Yerba Mate, Rooibos, Honey Bush, Chamomile, Mint and fruit teas. I have liked good teas in almost every category. I don’t go for overly bitter/astringent, tart, or sweet teas and I never add milk/cream, sugar or other sweeteners to my tea.

Even though I have many excellent teas I always want to try a new one just to see what it tastes like and if I like it even better than my current favorites. Eventually I will focus more on drinking my favorites rather than always trying a different type of tea.

Ratings:

85+ Excellent and I will definitely repurchase soon so I don’t run out.

75-84 Really good and I will probably buy it again.

65-74 Good and I might buy it again but on the other hand maybe I won’t repurchase.

50-64 OK and I might finish the box.

1-49 Really did not like it at all. I probably dumped out the rest of the cup for the teas on the lower end of this range.

I am only doing one review per tea. If I drink it multiple times and my opinion changes then I will go back and update my rating and tasting notes.
