This tea is surprisingly nice. I have to admit I bought it because I love Twining’s tins (they stack so well) and just want to use it for other teas, but I happily ended up enjoying this tea. Knowing it was very light (not my preference) I overleafed right off the bat and I’m happy I did. It’s still not incredibly strong but it has nice flavor. Mostly sweet Yunnan at the beginning of the sip with some earthiness coming in later and a touch of smokiness (Keemun maybe?). Very smooth with no detectable astringency. Another reviewer compared it to Queen Catherine, and I think that’s a fair comparison. They seem somewhat similar but Prince of Wales seems to be heavier on the Keemun and a bit lighter and muddier tasting. Overall it’s quite nice.

Had to up the rating. This is just my absolute favorite tea of all time. I’ve been trying to ration it so it lasts until the next Tao order, but that’s looking quite impossible at the moment. This stuff is liquid happiness.

I need to crack this one open.

Marzipan

Looks like I need to add it to my next order, this was what I had:
ZhengHe GongFu Black – Jin Ping Village
Golden Monkey Black
Golden Yunnan Black
Ginger Pu-er Shou
Rice Pu-er Sheng
Rice Pu-er Shou
Da Hong Pao Oolong
Bei Dou Oolong
Tangyang Gongfu Black

I’m going to send you some, you have to try it. Did you have the ZhengHe or rice shou yet? I thought both were incredible. The Golden Yunnan was kind of meh.

Parsifal

I am going to seek this out… thanks for the review! :)

Oh, this tea is really unique. It’s incredibly sweet and tastes and smells exactly like honey. If you were to give some of this to a non-tea drinker, I’m positive they wouldn’t believe you hadn’t added any to it. The liquor is even thick and slightly opaque, like it would be if you had dropped in some honey. Along with the lovely sweet honey there is a bit of butterscotch and a nice malt ending.
Even though it brewed up light compared to my usual preference, I think I’m going to have to pick up more of these soon.
I used 2 pearls for 7oz brewed with 212º water for 3 minutes.

Flavors: Butterscotch, Honey, Malt
