I am finishing off the last that I have of this tea.

Sweet with just the right amount of tart. A really pleasant tasting orange flavored green tea.

Another tea that I received in the clearance mystery box! I brewed it last night so that I could enjoy it today as iced tea… and it is really nice. Smooth and sweet and citrus-y. Delish!

This is the first time I had this tea hot. I think I prefer it cold the raspberry and honey flavors really shine through more. It was still a good morning tea though!

Ooooh! Tea envy:) I may try my strawberry honey hot today.

Caitlin

Haha – funny I was just thinking how good your mayan chocolate chai sounded

Cofftea

It’s easier (and better resulting) to steep the tea then use the tea to make coffee, but alas the coffee pot is too high on the counter for me to make coffee. I can reach the pot, that’s it.

Caitlin

Oh no :( – I don’t actually own a coffee maker or coffee for that matter – haha

I had the last bit of this iced with dinner tonight. I throughly enjoyed every bit of this part of tea. It was positively delicious! I am really looking forward to the rest of this tea!

Caitlin

P.S. This tea would have a higher rating but raspberry is not my favorite type of fruit, but if it is yours then this tea is definitely a 100.

Cofftea

I’m not a fan of non chai flavored blacks, but I’m hoping I get this one! I think it’d be amazing iced.

Caitlin

It is very smooth and nice

I made a pot of this iced today and it’s awesome. Both the dry leaves and the steeped tea smell like raspberries. The dry leaves also smell a bit like honey. The tea is really good iced the raspberry flavor and honey flavor really shine through. It really has a classic iced tea flavor!!!

Cofftea

While I’d prefer it green based, this one really interests me even though I can’t stand RTD raspberry iced tea. I hope I get this one!

Caitlin

It was quite good, not to sweet and no one flavor was overwhelming. I hope you get it too!

Cofftea

I’m not a “honey in my tea” kinda woman, but I bet one of lupica’s tea honeys in raspberry black would be REALLY good!

Caitlin

I have never been a honey in my tea person either. What are lupica’s tea honey’s? I have never taken a look at them.

Caitlin

Those look yummy! thanks

Cofftea

Let me know if/when you try them:)

Caitlin

Yeah – I will put them on my mental wishlist for times of more money – haha

A nice tea to start my day.

The apple flavor and the cinnamon flavor are very good… strong black base.

Delicious!

Having also tasted the apple pie a la mode from 52Teas, I can state that the 52Teas IS better… but this one is not bad. I can taste the apple and cinnamon, and the black tea base gives it a bit of a baked flavor, lending itself to the apple pie concept well. I do miss the crust though, but, I’m thinking I can remedy that myself with a couple of shortbread cookies.

Ahh… pecan shortbread cookies from McTavish (a local company that makes to-die-for cookies!) to the rescue.

Yep. That did the trick. Now, I’ve got my crust and my apple pie in a teacup. Yeah, I like this.

With my lunch I decided to enjoy a glass of what I brewed last night for iced tea.

Nice, sweet, and refreshing.

Cofftea

I was pretty disappointed w/ this hot, is it more watermelony iced? I’m thinking it might be better w/ a green base.

This is one that I’ve really looked forward to trying since I got my box from Zoomdweebies… and I couldn’t stand it any longer – I just had to try it (even though it is a little late for me to be drinking black teas, I usually stop by around 5 pm and start drinking green, whites and Oolongs instead).

The smell is YUM. It reminds me a bit of the watermelon bubble gum I used to buy when I was young for the sole purpose of annoying my step-mom (who hated the smell of it) – well, it was ALMOST the only reason I would buy it… I also quite enjoyed the gum. :)

The flavor is surprisingly good – I say surprisingly (although I shouldn’t be surprised as Frank knows his stuff) because I just don’t picture watermelon and black tea working well together … I’d have imagined watermelon to be a bit on the delicate side and would be overwhelmed by the strength of the black tea base. But it didn’t happen here.

I can taste the watermelon! I can taste the black tea. I guess my only complaint would be that the watermelon tastes a bit more like watermelon candy (or gum) than it does the watermelon fruit – it is sweet – candy-ish rather than sweet – fruity-ish. But, that’s not really a valid complaint because I love watermelon candy/gum.

Yummy. I think I will use what I have left of this and make iced tea for tomorrow!

I hope this one is in the box I ordered :) It sounds delish!

RachanaC (Rachel)-iHeartTeas

Would you mind sharing some of this one with me? I love to try some. Please!

LiberTEAS

Rachel: I’m really sorry… but I just finished brewing the last of this that I had for iced tea – I have sent off the rest of it to TeaEqualsBliss – but maybe she can share some with you? :( Sorry.

RachanaC (Rachel)-iHeartTeas

No problem, I will ask her. Hopefully she will have a little to spare. Thanks :-)

LiberTEAS

I hope so!

Southern Boy Teas

Working on some NEW watermelon blends (The Zoomdweebie’s blend DID use some artificial flavors, and it WAS good, but the 52teas blends are going to be AMAZING)

LiberTEAS

AWESOME. I can’t wait to try it. I think that it would be spectacular as a green tea blend. Another great green tea blend would be GRAPEFRUIT. :) (please)

TeaEqualsBliss

Can’t wait to try this!!!!

Had this this morning! It smells a lot like banana and not a lot like cheesecake kind of like the lime cheesecake. It tastes almost like chocolate, white chocolate to be precise. I think that might be the cheesecake flavor though. I really like it though. Very delicious!

Cofftea

I didn’t get the “white chocolate” in the 3 cheesecake/cream cheese blends I tried… but I didn’t get the cheesecake/cream cheese at all either. I should try their cream cheese flavored black… maybe then I could concentrate on the flavor more.

Caitlin

Yeah both cheesecake teas I tried seemed to be missing a strong cheesecake flavor, but they are both pretty good none-the-less

Caitlin

Forgot to rate this one – kind of a crazy morning

Mmm – this is very similar to the fruit cocktail tea but also different. The cherry comes through nicely in both flavor and scent. It is a very smooth sweet tea. It almost reminds me of oolong. It’s very yummy.

The spearmint in this blend is strong but not overwhelming. The black tea holds its own. A brisk and lively tea for this morning (yes, it’s still morning, only a few minutes left in the morning, but it’s still morning for me)

Preparation
Boiling 3 min, 0 sec
Caitlin

I am nervous to try this one as spearmint is not my favorite flavor

LiberTEAS

I prefer peppermint to spearmint… but, the spearmint in this blend is quite nice here because it doesn’t overwhelm the cup. I would recommend letting the cup cool down just a bit… I found that when I sipped it when it was quite hot the flavors were a bit harsher, but as it came to a slightly cooler temperature the flavors mellowed a little bit. The tea was still “hot” but it was a drinkable hot… know what I mean?

Caitlin

Yeah – thanks for the advice!

I saw TeaEqualsBliss’ note on this tea and I was like that’s what I want this morning. Had this as my morning wake up call in my favorite mug, while reading a good book. Is there a better way to start the morning?

Liquid Pecans! This tea tastes like liquid pecans! It is very awesome. I am very hot and cold with pecans. I love pecan pie but I would rarely eat plain pecans, and butter pecan ice cream is not my thing, but they are great in cookies. Any way this tea is definitely a positive pecan experience. If you love pecans you will love this tea.

Frank you really nailed this flavor!

Needless to say I enjoyed this tea. It smelled like pecans, tasted like pecans, but also like tea. Not the least bit bitter or fakey. I originally intended to have this tea with milk, but after trying a sip I decided that this tea was best left plain, maybe another day with additives.

Also on a different note I really want to try mixing this tea with the praline tea I also got in the box. I look forward to experimenting!

Tried this hot and it definitely brought out more fruit notes which I enjoyed. For some reason when it was hot it tasted more like green tea then black. It was more vegetal but who knows maybe that is the guava. I have never had guava to my knowledge. Any way it was a very nice cup of tea!

I made a pot of this yesterday and put it in the fridge to become iced. It is a very good black iced tea but it mostly tastes like an unflavored iced tea. I thought this would taste better as an iced tea than a hot tea (which is why that is how I tried it first), but now I think I will have to try it hot. It smells just like my passion fruit tea from thepuriTea and I loved that tea hot!! So I bet this will be awesome hot too! Regardless it makes a nice bold refreshing black iced.

This is the first of the package that I’m trying from Zoomdweebies.

The only other tea that I’ve tried called “Tutti Fruiti” (although probably not using that spelling) was a “kid’s tea” from Metropolitan Tea Company – basically a fruit tea that was actually quite good. This one I can’t really compare to that one, because they are two totally different teas.

This has a very interesting flavor though. Very sweet, candy-ish, like candied fruit. It sort of reminds me of the gelled fruit candies from Sunkist… like I somehow melted those in my tea… but this isn’t as sticky as that would be.

I look forward to trying this one iced.

Tea number four!! I really enjoyed this tea! It smells yummy like dried apples and it tastes refreshing and applely! I have only ever had one other apple tea (spiced apple chai) and this tastes kind of like that apple but times 10.

Cofftea

Iced!:)

Caitlin

Yeah – I bet this would be awesome iced!!! Currently I have a pot of guava black tea in the fridge working on become iced

I decided to have this with some oreo cheesecake! It was an awesome pairing! Really improved my night :)

Cofftea

I had an oreo brownie cheesequake blizzard last nite- this tea would have been awesome w/ it.

Caitlin

mmm – that sounds good. I bet a strawberry cheesecake would be good with the banana flavored tea I have as well

Cofftea

Yeah I have a feelin I’ll be passing off the banana lol.

Caitlin

I take it you don’t like banana?

Cofftea

The only thing banana I like is actual bananas.

Caitlin

haha – I can understand that. a lot of time fruit flavored things taste way worse than their real-life counterparts

The dry tea smells very very limey and I am not getting much cheesecake but it still smells pleasant. Once the tea is steeped I a, getting much more of the cheesecake flavor! it tastes mostly like lime black tea, but then I paired it with some cookies and the sweetness of the cookies brought out the cheesecake in the tea. I don’t sweeten my teas (I currently don’t have anything to sweeten it with), but if I was someone who sweetened tea this would probably taste good with some sugar or maybe brown sugar. Anyway a solid tea, I always like teas that can be paired with a sweet snack :-)

Cofftea

This one sounds pretty good, I’m most worried about there being enough cheesecake.

Caitlin

Yeah – I was worried about that too when I smelled it but I could taste it pretty well with the sweet notes

I don’t think I’ve ever been in quite this position with a tea before. Are you ready for this, Steepsterpeeps?

This tea is pretty good. The dry leaves smell very fruity (they’re dark and I think saturated with something, which leads me to believe it’s artificial flavoring), and the steeped tea smells wonderfully creamy in addition to smelling like blueberry. The ‘blueberry’ in question smells a lot like a blueberry cereal bar — maybe nutrigrain? — which I kind of like. It’s pretty light across the board, and just sweet enough to be satisfying.

But…

It tasted familiar to me, and I couldn’t figure out why. I don’t have any blueberry tea!

Then I realized that the blueberry quality of this tea is echoed in the Golden Spring I have and love…which is not a flavored black. Golden Spring is a normal black that just happens to be one of the most savory umami-filled teas I’ve ever had (since I don’t drink many greens, I suppose), and it may have caused this very tasty blueberry tea to get bumped down a few notches. This tea’s blueberry flavor reminds me of Golden Spring, but makes me miss the brothy, savory fullness of that other tea, and its lack of astringency. Comparing the two — as my palate inevitably must — this one tastes somewhat flat.

Just another one of those situations where a personal rating scale doesn’t really match up with an ‘overall quality’ scale. This wouldn’t jump the hurdle of 71 for the former…but I would still recommend it to anybody looking for a tasty blueberry tea.

205 °F / 96 °C 5 min, 0 sec

I completely agree w/ “where a personal rating scale doesn’t really match up with an ‘overall quality’ scale.”… or accuracy for that matter. I always do my best to give an unbiased review so that means I can give a 17 to a tea I really like if it doesn’t live up to the name/ingredients/description and I can give a 100 to a tea I loath if it’s right on the money for what it’s supposed to be.
