This is a fantastic tisane. The licorice spice imparts a natural sweetness. However the licorice is artfully mitigated by a host of other spices that make this one of the best licorice teas I have ever tasted. This wonderful tisane tickles the tongue and lingers just the right amount of time. It has a great mouthfeel, despite the presence of the abundance of licorice spice. Because of the presence of licorice spice, this tisane can stain the palette for quite some time, though not as long as Stash’s verity. It makes a great after dinner, or evening drink.

I bought my friend these as she does like a rich spicy tea. Tried it myself out of curiousity but found i had to leave the tea bag in until optimum drinking temperature to get an flavour out of it.

Tastes nasty — especailly for someone who doesn’t like licorice. But it can help soothe clogged sinuses and sore throats. I found it helped ease the pain of sinus headaches while waiting for the Benedryl to kick in.

Honestly, if I tea is supposed to be medicinal I care less about how it tastes (unless it’s REALLY gag-worthy) than how effective it is.

This is medicinal, all right :-)

I was wondering you have any left I would be curious to try it becuase my throat gets dry easy.

Rena Sherwood

Sorry it’s taken me so long to get back to you, Silvermage. Sure — I could send you a couple of bags. They’re individually wrapped. My email is JPWS61@aol.com. It’s best to get a hold of me that way.

Thanks! A little bit of Kava tea went a long way for me. :)

I tend to get a bit of a dry cough at night time and this helps soothe my itchy throat sometimes. I was somewhat surprised to find only two tea bags left when I went rooting through the tea cupboard looking for this. Not bad for a tea I initially didn’t care for. ;)

Is this just plain licorice or is it licorice flavored tea? I bought some yummy licorice flavored herbal tea from Aveda once and it was so, so good. I wonder if they still make that…

*looks into the box * Huh, this tea’s been vanishing faster than I realized – there’s only three bags left. It feels so unbelievably good on my sore throat though, so I might get another box just to add to my herbal medicine collection.

The air is so dry right now I have an almost constant sore throat. This tea always feels so nice and soothing going down.

You know, I’ve found that since I’ve started drinking this tea that I’ve disliked the licorice flavour less as time goes on. It seems to only be the natural licorice root that this phenomena applies to, though; black licorice and licorice-flavoured jellybeans still garner a “Yurgh!” reaction from me.

My throat was feeling scratchy again today so I dug out this tea. I wonder if I might be slightly allergic to something in the air right now, or maybe I just need to catch up on my dusting and house cleaning (urgh).

This seems to be turning into my go-to tea for sore throats when I don’t want the sleep-inducing effect of the cherry bark that’s in Traditional Medicinal’s Throat Coat tea (which is awesome BTW and also has licorice root in it).

Managed to keep the bag from spliting open this time. In my opinion this tea tastes better with more steeping as opposed to less.

Argh, Yogi’s teabags always tear on me for some reason – I hate having floaty bits in my tea!

Steeped for 3.5 minutes. No matter how much or how little I steep it it tastes like I’ve added 3 or 4 teaspoons of sugar due to the licorice root in the tea.

Steeped it for 5.5 minutes in boiling water and it seemed to bring out the flavour of some of the other spices a bit more.

Not being a huge licorice fan I was a bit dubious about this one but it’s actually quite nice. The licorice lends the tea a sweetness and its flavor is quite natural and not overly pronounced. I wish I could taste the other ingredients a bit more though, maybe I need to steep it longer.

I haven’t had this tea in a while, but I remember that it makes a wonderful cup of hot tea :) Sweet yet spicy. Nice licorice flavor without being overpowering

Smooth, with a hint of cinnamon and nuttiness. It actually does relieve feelings of stress – without putting you to sleep. Nice.

Great green flavor without being too overwhelming. Fairly forgiving green tea but be careful not to oversteep. 3 minutes is plenty of time for the flavors to develop in the cup.

Steeped for just a few minutes to avoid bitter flavors. Sweetened with Sugar in the Raw.
