HGTTB haha i hadn’t read the review of this one before i picked it out of the box to try. I don’t think it’s quite as bad as everyone thinks it is but i also wouldn’t brew this straight up western. It does have a little fishy smell to it but as far as the taste goes, it’s a pretty average cup. It’s nothing spectacular, but it’s not toss out worthy either :)

This is a very nutty and mellow tasting sencha. I had it stored with other tea samples and it seems to have taken on flavors from some of them, so I’m not going to do an in-depth review. I can say though that this one is mellow and a bit sweet, pretty good tasting. I’m getting hints of anise but I think that is from other tea scents that got into it.

Got this one from Veronica from the Christmas card exchange in December! Reminds me a lot of Lupicia’s Cookie Lots of cinnamon and cookie flavors. I think I like Lupicia’s version the best because it’s a lot richer and just better overall in my opinion.
This one is still good though! Happy to have tried it! :D
Thank you for the sample, Veronica!

This is delicious! I absolutely love this tea! The leaves are slightly lower grade but still a typical japanese green. The small spines are emerald green and with small gold specks. The brew is a pale jade and refracts light well. The brew tastes of sweet honey butter! There are undertones of vegetable, nectar, oils and a very slight citrus tang. The wet leaves smell of algae, spinach, fresh grass and spring! This is a quality japanese green. The only problem with this tea is its price. The company I bought it from has it priced extremely high so I can only afford it within small doses. I also would rather spend my money elsewhere so this is the last of this tea that I will be buying.

drank Organic Jasmine Green Tea by Wegmans

The downside of drinking a tea without reviewing it and then you forget you really enjoyed it … is met on the other side by, after having forgotten, you get that surprised “oh, nice!” moment. Got that with this. Very enjoyable jasmine, fresh like spring, silky body. The jasmine is forward and juicy but not overplayed. I was hoping this would be sweet enough to satisfy a sweet tooth kind of afternoon, but… well, not quite. Baked pear/apple medley to the rescue, though.

Super lame! I’ve been fairly impressed with Wegmans loose tea so far but this stuff is practically flavorless. Super slight wisp of scent of flowers if I shove my face so far down the mug I risk drowning, and the weakest green tea base I’ve ever experienced.

I won’t even give this away. Glad I just got a couple dollars worth. Hope the trash appreciates it.

Just like the Irish Breakfast Tea from Wegmans, very good, inexpensive tea. About as good as it gets for store brand. Strong enough, good flavor.

From Veronica, from the Xmas Cards swap. Backlog.

This tea is soo good. I have no idea where to get Wegman’s, but that’s probably a good thing with the amount of tea in my cupboard at the moment. It really does taste like almond cookies! When I bake almond cookies, I’m a bit of an almond fiend, I put 2-3x the almond flavoring and mix in some sliced almonds. I’m glad that this tea is strong on that note! The cookie flavoring didn’t disappoint, but what can I say? I’d be in it for the almonds. Yum.

I thought I had finished my gyokuro yesterday, but I just realized that I still have 1 oz left from a green tea variety pack I purchased! :) I almost went for the gyokuro again today, but I figured that I better try to make it last. It was a good change going with sencha today…the extra grassiness and bite are enjoyable…and so is the significant difference in price compared to the gyokuro…great everyday tea.

I love the variety available in the World of Tea…but, at this point, I’d have to say that sencha is my go-to tea. Inexpensive, good taste…nice mixture of grassiness and sweetness. This one is great for a store brand…I actually think I prefer it to the Yamamotoyama sencha. I’ll have to venture out more and try more senchas…this one is definitely doing the trick for now though.

A very nice tasting sencha, and very inexpensive. Nice grassy, vegetal taste without being overwhelming.

Unremarkable but very tasty. I think this will be much better for me iced – the blueberry is present, but not overwhelming, and the green tea is flavorful and not at all bitter.

I cold brewed this thinking I would like it best that way, but this is a meh tea in my opinion. It’s like many other fruity herbals out there with a good dash of hibiscus thrown in as well. There is rooibos in the blend, but I could barely taste it.

I’ll finish the small amount I bought, but I won’t repurchase.

drank Lavender Sencha by Wegmans

This is absolutely lovely. I can’t believe I have gone so long without Wegmans tea in my life. I love lavender, and that is the primary note here. It plays well with the green sweetness of the sencha, but the sencha is secondary. I sometimes find sencha to taste a bit too much like liquid spinach, so I think this is perfect. I will absolutely be getting more.

I was thinking earlier today that I need a lavender tea in my life. I’ll have to see if my Wegman’s carries this!

Leah Naomi

I have tried a few, and this is my favorite incarnation so far. Followed by a lavender earl grey, and a lavender white I’ve tried. All good…but this one takes the cake. So far I am extremely impressed with Wegman’s tea. I also love that with the serve yourself, you can create little samples. I paid 66 cents for my teeny baggie than yielded 4 pretty strong cups. I am unsure if I have the willpower not to immediately go back to refill and try more…

This is SO good. So so so good. It actually does taste like an almond cookie, creamy and a bit sweet somehow. I think a bit of sweetener and milk would make this into a legitimate dessert. I just got a sample’s worth, but I will absolutely be getting more.

Dropped my phone in a sink full of water today. Luckily only for a few seconds, and it is chillin in all of the rice I could find in a plastic bag…here’s hoping it recovers. I can’t afford to replace it.

Backlog from Friday night.

This was a swap from Jude many moons ago. I think if I had tried it when I first got it, I would have enjoyed it more. However, in the intervening period between then and now, a few things happened:

1. It got stored next to Tealux’s “Secret of Love” tea in my cupboard, and
2. I tried Teavivre’s Silver Needle Jasmine tea.

That’s a lethal combination, as this silver needle tea had a really high bar to clear while inadvertently absorbing the flavours of the much stronger tea right next to it.

Unfortunately, it couldn’t hold up. The jasmine flavour was barely there, and instead I got a whole lot of white tea weakness.

I disliked this so much, in fact, that I put the remaining unused leaf in the compost. I knew I wouldn’t drink the rest.

Sorry, Jude.

I thought I missed out on this tea since I didn’t see it on the shelves when I was in Wegman’s during the holidays. Luckily, I popped in today to pick up a couple of items and saw the canister on the shelf with the unflavored black teas. I was so excited that I immediately bought a quarter pound. No regrets.

This tea has a wonderful shortbread almond cookie flavor. I really do adore it. I’m about to drink a nice big mug while I take down my Christmas tree and attempt to get my living room back to some semblance of order. Usually I get the blues once the holidays are past, but this year I’m ready to tuck into winter and just enjoy some quiet and stillness for awhile… with a cup of tea, of course.

I love this – quiet and stillness. I’m trying to do the same. Good luck with your Christmas tree. Mine was a beast!

I swear this tea is keeping me from killing people. Or at least yelling at them. To be honest, I’d rather have a plate of cookies right now rather than a tea that taste like cookies, but since I don’t want to consume a bunch of unnecessary calories I’ll stick to this yummy tea and continue to not yell at – or kill – the people I’m forced to interact with today.

It’s almost the weekend. It’s almost the weekend. It’s almost the weekend….

Aww, just hang in there!

I think I may have lost a few sanity points today, but it looks like I’m going to make it. :)

I had this tea earlier this evening, and it was every kind of yummy. As always, I added sugar and milk, and, as always, it tasted like a delicious almond cookie.

This is so good I think I’m going to buy a bunch of it the next time I’m at the store just to have on hand. I’m afraid they’ll take it off the shelf soon since it’s part of the winter tea line. I’m not ready to run out of this tea/dessert-in-a-cup yet!

Backlogging.

Another tea from yesterday. I fully admit that I grabbed this tea out of desperation. Yesterday was a cold, rainy, dreary day, and all I wanted to do was eat butter cookies and play World of Warcraft. I totally blame my husband for this because I quit playing WoW years ago, but he bought me the expansion and boosted my character to 90. If you have no idea what I’m talking about that’s ok. If you do know what I’m talking about you know what a time suck WoW can be. Ugh. If only it weren’t so much fun to play!

I was strong though! Instead, I made myself a cup of this and cleaned my house. The tea has become one of my favorite dessert teas because it really does taste like an almond cookie (with the addition of cream and sugar). It’s super, super tasty and it literally kept my hand out of the cookie jar. I love the big slivers of almond mixed in with the tea leaves. I don’t know how much nutty flavor they give the drink, but they are very pretty.

So, I had a yummy tea, and today I’m sitting in a nice, clean house. Sometimes being responsible stinks, but it does have its moments. :)

Preparation
Boiling 3 min, 30 sec 1 tsp 8 OZ / 236 ML
Exidy

Heh, I completely understand the allures of WoW. I have started and quit a couple of times. I’m not currently playing, but was curious about the latest expansion. Ugh, can’t think about it, or I might get sucked back in.

So, congrats on having a more productive day! Cheers to your strength and delicious tea for helping! I’ll have to pick up this one to try next time I’m at Wegman’s.

Veronica

I quit after WotLK, so it’s been a while since I’ve played. I’ll tell you the expansion is fun, but I’ll leave it at that. :)

Do pick up the tea! It’s gooood!

Lots of sweet almond cookie flavor (milk and sugar added). This is great for when I want something sweet and don’t want to snack. I’m actually going to Wegman’s in a few minutes, and I’m tempted to pick up more of this. We shall see….
