I’ve only had one cup of this, but its really nice. A good earl grey, and excellent for a night time earl grey if you’re caffeine sensitive.

Like my other half. He’s one of those “can’t have caffeine after 4” people, and he ADORES this. His first box was bought about 8 months ago, and I think he’s been through about 200g all by himself. Just loves it. I’ll rate this for him.

A really yummy iced tea. Juicy and sweet, great in summer. Can’t wait until it warms up so I can have more of this iced!

Tasting note 200! Woohoo!

I had another one of these awaiting me in my Timolino after I finished my barre class this morning. I actually think I’ve been fighting off a cold (this is a major major thing for me, I used to see a cold then be flat in bed for a week with the cold, then also acquire the flu or a chest infection… not fun. Yay for all those veggies I’ve been eating!), so I would’ve loved a spot of honey in this, but alas, I’m playing by the Whole30 rules.

Still a lovely cuppa.

Memily

Also think I’m currently fighting off a cold, wah. Have been giving a couple of Tastea samples a run.

Sil

Woohoo! Congratulations on 200!

TassieTeaGirl

Oh, mem, she’s good too. She’s a naturopath or something similar, so they’re all ‘functional’ teas. I hope you beat it!

I started a Whole30 today (http://mymissingfactor.wordpress.com/2013/06/30/one-is-never-enough/), which means some teas are out. Not this one though! Beautiful mix of real spices in black tea. So good…

Sil

looking forward to seeing how you tackle the next 30 days! Hope you kill it! :) sending positive vibes your way!

TassieTeaGirl

Aw thanks! Have you done a Whole30?

Sil

i haven’t…the closest i’ve done to anything like that was a crack at phase 1 on the south beach diet. We did it last year because i needed to get a handle on what i was eating – what was nice was learning and actually taking the time to think about what i was putting in to my body. Made me much more aware of what i eat, even if i’m not actually “dieting” or sticking to something like whole30. The way our apartment/life is set up right now isn’t really condusive to being able to have the space/time that these things take to shift habits…so we’re at least trying to think about the things we buy and have in the apartment as a baby step to when we move to a house…

I applaud your efforts :)

momo

good luck! I quit it to go to a sort of lower carb/less insistence on stuff I can’t afford way of eating. It was bringing me down in that sense, and it’s a struggle for me to eat breakfast, and I got sick of it. Still I feel I got the right idea on everything wrong with how I ate and I think in the 11 days I did get through I lost 1 inch from my waist and almost 2 from my hips and yet I am eating until I am so full.

TassieTeaGirl

I think anything that makes you more aware of what is healthy for your body and what makes it work best is awesome.

momo

Definitely, the ability to eat so much and rarely break 1400 calories has got to be the most exciting thing. And you feel so good doing it! The amount of dishes you constantly have to do shows this haha.

Had this iced this morning. Just lovely! Would never have thought of icing chai until I went to the Oriental Tea House in Melbourne a week and a half ago. Nice idea to be able to drink chais in summer. Yummo.

Took this in the lid of my timolino to have as an afternoon tea as I knew it was going to be a long busy day. Made it at around 4, but forgot about it so I took it out of the thermos at 6 when I got home. Was obviously strong, but with some milk and agave, it was still tasty. Yummmm…..

This is a lovely breakfast tea (well I usually have it with breakfast!). Creamy and spicy, its nice and warming and uplifiting in the morning. I like it with a little sweetner (honey or agave, depending on the mood) and a dash of milk. Nicely balanced, its neither too spicy or too sweet. I usually give chais a solid steep (around 5 mins or a bit longer) to really bring out the flavour. Yummo!

Went on a hike today with the boy. He’s wilderness training me, today we did The Needles in southwest national park. Straight up, about 400m, wind blowing in sideways with a good dose of rain. Typical Tasmanian weather, and it was a bit awesome really! I did it all, and made good time and it made both of us quite happy! My body wasn’t able to cope with these things until recently, but I can now power up the hills and enjoy the weather and came back down nicely with no soreness or joint issues and it was awesome!

But with sideways rain comes a touch of coldness, so when we got home I made a pot of Mount Wellington tea and we warmed up on our insides. Comfort tea. Hmmmm……..

My goodness, reading about your escapade makes me want to reach for a blanket and a huge teapot!

TassieTeaGirl

Yep! It was needed! Was such a good feeling having the warm goodness slide down my throat.

Took a thermos of this to the market today to perk me up during the drizzle and clouds. Worked well! Had a dash of milk in it, really good.

Had the other half make me a mug of this when I got up. So comforting!

One of my favourite winter teas. Warming and tasty when hot, good with a little honey when tucked up under a blanket and its raining/snowing outside.

You know those days where you just NEED chocolate? Like, the world will end if you don’t get it? But then you feel guilty about breaking whatever diet promise you made to yourself that morning? Well this tea will fix that problem. So so so chocolately! Just amazing.

A lovely night time tea, sweet and calming.

(Sorry for the not overly expansive reviews today, I have a cold and need something to do besides re-watching my entire dvd collection for the 3rd day in a row…)

This was the other tea I took to my yoga workshop. This was also well received, lots of appreciation for the berry taste, and a few people said how nice it would be in the height of summer.

Oh, and if anyone is wondering, the hibiscus is very mild, I didn’t even notice it. If anyone out there is thinking of trying this but worried about the hibiscus, don’t!

This is a lovely iced tea (and unsurprisingly goes well with sparkling white wine as a tea cocktail), with strawberries and a great sencha base. Not much of a fan of this one hot, but iced its great. A summer staple.

This one is really tasty. Hot, its very raspberry-ish, with the rooibos base giving it a nice flavour. Iced, it is sweet, creamy (hello, vanilla) and juicy. Goes a reddy-orange colour, smells sweet too! One of my favourite summer teas to ice.

I’ve been swapping between this and the Vanilla Chai quite extensively because they’re really tasty, Whole30 compliant, and brew with ease (and even tolerate some brewing errors well). I didn’t want to bore you all with repeats of how much I love them both so I’ve calmed down on the repeated posts a bit! But I have been drinking them both, and loving them!

The JEM is surprisingly resilient to some oversteeping. Like yesterday, when I timolino-ed up the tea, then got flooded with phone calls and it ended up getting a 10 minute steep. Usually a travesty for a sencha, but there was only the faintest hint that it had been in the water too long, and even then I’m not sure if it was bitterness or just too much flavouring ending up in the water. Just awesome.

We had a farewell morning tea today for a contract staff member. I have to admit it was a little bit nice for that person to not be me! I made up a thermos of this to have with our morning tea. Yummy, comforting, and the usual clean taste. Beautiful.

Finishing this from my timolino after making it to afternoon then not getting a chance to finish it at work. So well, and it goes with the rain outside. Warming and naturally sweet.

I did a yoga workshop at my barre studio yesterday, and took in a tayeka jugful of this iced. It was well received! They were mostly tea novices, and for many of my classmates, it was the first time they’d had a green that hadn’t been burned and all bitter tasting. Lots of nodding when I explained the prefered steeping temperature for greens… I think endorsements from tea novices is always a good sign.

One of, if not my favourite flavoured green. Sweet and soft, is as good iced as it is hot. Doesn’t need anything to sweeten it, but is nice with some honey or agave if you’re that way inclined.

Just so good!

Did two steeps of this today as I had a spot of throat and sinus dryness. All good now. I love the mint in this, a perfect strength.
