I’ve tried multiple thing with this one, on the bag it’s written 5 × 5 secs, it was a little light to my taste though.
I’ve tried something like : 2 rinces, 15’’, 15’’, 30’’, 45’’, 1’, 1’30’’, 2’00.
This pu erh is ok, no off taste, but no depth, as it can be find in an older pu erh. Ok for an everyday tea.
Preparation
At first, I didn’t know how to prepare this one, since, at first I thought it was a green tea. Actually, it’s a red one (well black using the western terminology :).
I’ve tried in a gaiwan like a classic red tea : 1’00 – 2’00 – 3’00 (boiling water) and it was very good, with fruity, bit smoky taste which stay in the mouth after drinking.
Preparation
Brewed in gong fu cha with a small teapot : 20’’ – 25’’ – 40’’ – 60’’ – 1’30 – 2’30’
Last infusion was very light.
Nice Phoenix Dan Cong with a strong fruity after taste, not very strong though, compared to some other Phoenix I’ve tried. Easy to brew, I’ve tried with more leaves and increasing the steeping time and it was still quite good.
Preparation
I first, I was like “mmm smells good”. The leaves are quite green for a Tie Guan Yin of this grade (or so I think).
I tried it in a small teapot (0,2L) and 20 seconds … almost nothing. I was drinking hot water with a very faint flowery taste. I tried to increase the duration of my brew … nothing, still too light.
Alright, let’s follow what’s written on the bag. Big teapot, 4-5 minutes. Still very light with an off taste, green but more like fresh leaves than flower.
Preparation
I tried to order some green tea in February, at first I thought it could be a very bad idea.
Although this tea should be a bit old (one year or so, but I could guess wrong since I’ve got no information on the harvest), the taste is strong and I liked it.
Brewed in a zhong (2’00, 3’00 and 3’00). Herbal, light nutty and smoky taste. Nice.
Preparation
Very nice oolong for this price, a taste of … Osmanthus as you guessed.
I’ve tried it in a small teapot and the taste was too light for me. I’ve tried again in a big one (0.7L) and it was much better slight after taste and very nice flowery taste without being overwhelming.
A nice choice definitely.
Preparation
So I found a shop where you can buy tea by 25g (0.9oz or something like that I think). A good and cheap way to try a lot of tea and to choose which one to order next time.
This Long Jing is good. Brewed in a zhong (2’00, 3’00 and 3’00). I’ve tried a first brew at 1’00 but the taste was too light.
The taste is grassy with a little touch of citrus. A little bit light for me though, the order was made in February (almost one year after the spring harvest), so it could explain the light taste.
