drank Pumpkin Pie by Tea Oh

I love pumpkin so I was excited to try this. Sadly I was disappointed. Very flavourful in terms of spices. But not so much the pumpkin. Tea also tastes pretty bitter to me, but that may be how black teas go, and i’m just not used to drinking them without tons of sugar.

Maybe higher temp, shorter steep? Less leaf? I’m still trying to find the perfect pumpkin or pumpkin pie tea- it’s a shame this wasn’t it. :(

Elyse

I mean it smelled like pumokin until i brewed it :(

Finishing up my sample…pretty good…a little bitter but not bad…still very apple-E but not overly pie-like.

This is pleasantly scented and tastes like an apple flavored black tea. The ‘pie’ hints are more towards the end of the sip and in the aftertaste. There is a slight crusty bitterness in the aftertaste which remind me of the crusty pie, I suppose. This is a nice offering from Tea Oh!

This one is touchy…just when I think it’s mild and smooth I add too much and it’s very grassy. I know it’s there but it’s temperamental

OH!!!!! THERE IT IS!!!!!! Mild AND Smooth! Super Creamy! The same amount with 2 splashes of Vanilla Rice Milk! Well….hello Rhino! I see you are FINALLY comfortable in your own skin!!!! LOL

Yup! I found it!!! It works! It makes sense now!

EDIT****

TeaEqualsBliss

Afterthought on this one…the aftertaste reminds me of ’just eating Cheerios" type taste…but ONLY in the aftertaste.

__Morgana__

When you figure out “males sense” let me know. ;-)

Cofftea

LOL Morgana! Humane error too;) “You know you’ve had too much matcha when you can’t type cohearantly.” TeaEqualsBliss, I’m cutting you off:)

TeaEqualsBliss

WHOA!!! LOL – Guess so…I should edit that! LOL

-Jessica-

Oooooho I so want to try a white matcha!!!! I’m glad you go the recipe down for this one! hehe

ChariTea

white matcha?! I’ve never heard of that! I def want to try this!

Cofftea

I wonder how this compare’s to Muzi Tea’s version (other than this being insanely cheaper.

Jillian

Damn woman! You’re finding all the cool Canadian tea companies before I do! ;P

This is definitely an intriguing tea – never mind that I’ve never even heard of white matcha; Kenya generally isn’t known for its white tea OR its matcha.

Cofftea

The owner of Tea Oh (who’s on steepster) said that more African people are drinking matcha like teas so they make their own.

Cofftea

I’m watching NatGeo and White Rhino I guess is also a form of pot- definitely made me laugh. Strangely this isn’t the 1st tea I’ve encountered w/ a pto connection…

Okay…so…The other 2 notes were based on 2 teaspoons-worth, maybe a little less. This one is based on less than a teaspoon. I think I found LESS is MORE with this one. It’s not AS astringent but still really bold and IN YOUR FACE. It’s much more creamy and smooth with this amount…but I wouldn’t call it a mild flavor, it’s pretty forward and wants to be heard! LOL

I will finally rate this one with my 3rd attempt because this is more drinkable than my humane error attempts! LOL

TeaEqualsBliss

OH! Might I add…this is PLAIN and as it cools for a minute or so I am enjoying it more…

Cofftea

So does this taste anything like traditional green matcha?

TeaEqualsBliss

Well, because I am not a pro on matcha’s I am probably not the best to say…but I don’t think so…I think it tastes WAY different than ANY of the matcha’s I have ever had!

Okay…I decided to put a few splashes of Vanilla Rice Milk in this one…with the half cup I had left. I know the description says mild and smooth…but WOW…I really don’t think it’s mild! I’m not saying that it’s good, bad, or indifferent…just that this is a BOLD BREW! With the Vanilla Rice Milk it made this smell a little bit more like it did when it was the dry powder but it’s still very strong for taste! It’s a little bitter – still astringent, but creamier, I guess. Again, no rating for the 2nd time in a row because I really think my outcome is humane error.

Attempt #3 – starting FRESH – coming soon…

Cofftea

Good grief woman, you’re gonna be so hyper after this! I LOVE IT:) This is the one I mentioned for Tea Oh’s contest.

TeaEqualsBliss

Me too!!!! It intrigued me!

TeaEqualsBliss

Again, but WAIT…there’s MORE!!!!!

Plain.

Dry aroma reminds me of a subtle mint chocolate type smell.

Post Whisk with just water smells like, well, hard to describe, cream! The color is like coffee with about 2 creamers in it…in comparison.

Taste with just water…well, I think I might want to use less of the matcha powder if just with water…it’s a STRONG tasting one! WOW!!! It’s astringent but wants to be smooth and creamy. I really think I used too much too soon with this one. More attempts to follow…

Cofftea

I’m jealous:) Never mind that I just had 6oz of matcha delivered… lol!

Batrachoid

I just bought 5oz and I’m as green with envy as this tea is white too! It sounds fascinating and delicious. Now to decide if I should get this one or the Green Tea Lovers’ first…

TeaEqualsBliss

I’m envious after reading about the GreenTeaLovers one! LOL :) Haven’t tried that one yet! After I read that review I thought about trying this one again! I wonder how they compare!???

Batrachoid

I know. I just checked Tea Oh! and they’re sold out of the white matcha but an order from Green Tea Lovers costs more. I guess I’ll wait and try both at once? >.< 不公平なぁ。

drank Strawberry Pickin' by Tea Oh

This smells AWESOME! Fresh Strawberries!!!!!!!

The taste is basically 50/50 Green Tea/Strawberry tastes and this is VERY nice!!! There is no funky aftertaste. The aroma lingers more than anything…makes me want to go pick strawberries! Ironic! :)

Jillian

That’s cool – usually with fruity green teas you can either barely taste the flavour or it’s that hideously fake-tasting stuff.

drank Pecan Pie by Tea Oh
6768 tasting notes

This couldn’t smell MORE like Pecan Pie! The aroma is RIGHT ON! After infusing there is a bit of texture to the liquid. The taste is VERY nutty with the Rooibos taste standing right by it’s side. The aftertaste somewhat resembles the pie crust type taste, I suppose. This is alright!

Finishing off the last of the sample I have of this…

I must say that I REALLY like this tea. I don’t think I gave it enough credit yesterday when I first tasted it and I’m going to increase the numeric rating a bit because it really deserves it.

The Earl Grey here (or should I say, bergamot?) is much more subtle than one might expect from an Earl Grey tea, but that is alright, because where it lacks in the bergamot it more than makes up for with the very unique finishing note. It is creamy, sweet, and I don’t know how else to describe it… it tastes so good.

This tea is quite a treat for me.

This is a very unusual Earl Grey. The finish is very different… it does have a creamy-ish finish, slightly sweet with just a hint of citrus.

This … kind of tastes like an Earl Grey creamsicle – made with bergamot oranges.

It’s nice. I’m enjoying this unusual twist on Earl Grey! It is also quite nice as it cools… this would be very nice and refreshing as an iced tea.

SIPDOWN on this one too! It was pleasant but wish it had more chai likeness to it. The Cocoa was more intense this time but still not overly intense. The Caramel was moreso into the aftertaste, really.

The spice is just as strong as the caramel and the chocolate notes are nice. I did use a large amount of this blend to infuse…I might try less next time to see the difference. This is a hearty blend of flavors!

This is my last bit of this and it’s better than I remember it! I’m getting more of an apple taste than Pom and Vanilla but it sure is tasty regardless! YUM!

This is mostly Pomegranate flavored with a hint of vanilla on top of black tea. It’s very fruity, a tad bitter – but in a good and sassy way! I’m starting my day with this HOT but think it would be ever better ICED.

This is my first TeaOh Tea and I must say I am pleased! This is very strong for a white and DOES live up to the creamy claims in the description. I guess I could pick up on some Earl Grey hints but it’s not overly so. I’m completely fine with that tho. As for the aftertaste it is very clean and crisp – almost celery-like. There is a bit of juiciness to it as well which contribute to the flavors’ overall POP. I’m thinking this will be incredible ICED as well.

drank White Peony by Tea Oh
53 tasting notes

Steeped this cup for probably 5 minutes (I really should use steep.it more often!) as I kinda forgot about it… but I had hoped the longer steeping might help bring out the flavours.

It maybe helped give a little flavour boost, but it gets bordering on bitter when steeped too long. I’ve gotta lower my rating….sorry! :(

I’ve had this tea perhaps three times now but I’ve avoiding logging it in hopes that the next cup would be spectacular. It’s not that it’s bad – far from it! I do enjoy it.
The flavor is subtle, and not bitter in any way.
But it’s not as great as the White Peony I had from World Tea House. The thing that’s missing is that soft, silky mouthfeel. It’s just a little too watery. Next time I will double the amount of leaves! Or maybe it’s the plastic office kettle? I should try making this at home, but for now, I have to say I’m somewhat unsatisfied.

drank Kiwi Berry by Tea Oh

I figured out the secret to successful iced tea with this stuff. Use LOTS of “tea”! Wowie, it steeped up really dark red, almost like beet juice, and had much more flavor this go around. How unfortunate that I figured this out at nearly the end of my package.

Today, after drinking a cup of Jasmine green tea, I re-steeped the leaves along with a large helping of kiwi berry. I cold-steeped it for a few hours and am happy to report it made a lovely iced tea! The green tea helped give the tea more body – something that was definitely lacking before. The flavor, however, came mostly from the fruit pieces. The tea was a beautiful dark pink/red color. Yum!

Received my order yesterday, and immediately upon opening the envelope I could smell this tea. It smells like Fruitopia juice, so strong and sweet! I set some to cold steep immediately.

I used 1 tea ball full for 1 liter of water. The colour was beautiful pink, but quite pale. I filled my water bottle this morning with it, and have been drinking it since. The flavor is mild, but definitely tastes of kiwi and strawberries, I believe. It’s not grossly fruity, and still reminds me a lot of Fruitopia, without the overwhelming sweetness. It’s very good, I just need to bulk up tea to water ratio. I have more steeping at home as we speak. Yum.

I will hold off on rating this tea until I do it justice.

Had a cup this morning. Perfectly devine, until the last third of my cup. It was my own fault, though. I couldn’t find my tea balls so I just threw some leaves in the cup. After a half hour steeping, the last of the cup was a bit too bitter. But the first half – heaven!
