I love this tea so gosh darn much. I don’t drink it for months and then as soon as that first sip hits my lips, I am reminded of how amazingly wonderful it is – that taste of juicy ripe pear, the sweetness of the matcha, and the very mild touch of green tea. Stash sells this online-only as a loose tea – I’m thinking of purchasing to see if there’s any difference between it and the bagged.
I’m VERY turned off by the smell of this tea. At first, before steeping, it’s like a grass smell, which isn’t the best, but it gets worse after that…then, once steeped…it’s smells kind of like a skunk….ewww! The coloring is a typical green tea color but with a some cloudiness. The taste isn’t THAT bad but I certainly have had better. For once, I really can’t get past the smell…sorry
The first time I drank this, i over-steeped it and hated it. This time i did better, with cooler water and 2 min steep, and squeezed the tea bag GENTLY. Added some sweet. This time i like it. It cant compare with Stash’s mangosteen green with matcha, but i do love diversity.
Maybe it’s just that the pu-erh in this tea bag is extra mellow, but perhaps the chrysanthemum petals have the effect of banishing the barnyard aspects of the pu-erh. However it happens, this is a light amber liquid with nice earthiness and a subtle floral aroma. Boiling water, scant 3 min steep. I like this. Nice change of pace. Got it in a sampler — might buy it sometime.
Nice and smooth drinking. Boiling water, 5 min steep, milk and sweet’ning. I bought a bunch of assortments on clearance and shared them with a sort of tea sisterhood, including my sister, daughter-in-law and granddaughter. We fancy ourselves having daily tea parties across the miles. And I feel a bit of the same camaraderie with my fellow Steepster-ites. Well then, to tea!
The only thing w/ mangosteen I’ve seen is that ubber expensive scam “health” drink. Now this is something I’d actually drink. Although loose leaf would be even better.
wow…a 97? I might have to try this out!
Definitely try it, ladies! I think it was $3 for 30 bags at my grocery store. Stash also sells a loose leaf version online-only, which I think I’m gonna have to order based on my love of this.
Oh yes! I was gonna ask for this in our tea swap, but never mind. I’ll wait to get it loose:)
