drank Strawberry & Kiwi by PureAromaTea

Finishing off this swap from KittyLovesTea.

Made it as a cold brew. Brewed for about 6 hours. The tea smells so awesome, like strawberry juice.

I am happy I stopped brewing after 6 hours, because the hibiscus is just on the verge of getting too strong. I can taste the strawberry. I would say it tastes similar to other strawberry kiwi flavoured drinks I have had, but I do not distinctly taste any kiwi.

Definitely a good fruity, juicy cold brew!

Got this in a swap with Kittylovestea.

This tea smells like luscious strawberry. Super sweet and fruity.

The packaging recommended a 4 min steep but I was a bit scared of the hibiscus so I kept it at a 2 min steep and think it turned out wonderful. The brewed tea smells very much like sweet strawberry. The tea tastes like sweet, juicy strawberry jam. There are notes of kiwi underneath the strong strawberry taste. There is a slight hibiscus taste which works well with the fruitiness of the tea. It doesn’t overpower the tea at all. This tea does remind me of strawberry kiwi drinks or candy.

Definitely going to try this one cold brewed.

Thanks so much Kittylovestea!

There’s so many chunky fruity yummy bits, I could totally eat this as trail mix! (Fiance and I both had to nibble the fruits before we made a cup. Too tempting!)

Tastewise, and I’m not sure how with all the fruit and trail mix feel, it’s tastes like vanilla marzipan. It’s a little uncanny. The end note of each sip has a little but of fruity lift, but otherwise? Dead on.

I’m gonna be really sad when this is gone. This is like a perfect comforting before bed caffeine free cup.

sipdown! I shared this with a friend the other night and left myself just enough for another large sil mug of this one. I really do like this – just a delicious fruity blend to enjoy in the summer.

I was surprised upon opening this one up, though i’m not sure why. it’s a green tea, though i think in my head i was expecting a herbal. I accidentally brewed this at a little too hot a temperature, which may account for some of the bitterness in the cup. As a result, I may hold off rating this until i’ve been able to try it again. What i DID like with this one, was that with a splash of sugar added to it, the flavours really popped! I think this would be pretty tasty as a cold brew with some sweetner.

sipdown! 290 :) Back to where i started this week with my mini relapse thanks to sloane’s stupidly amazing sale. I really like this one a lot. which says a ton about this tea since i am not a fan of coconut overall. it’s smooth and tasty and the coconut doesn’t overpower, instead it blends really nicely with the pineapple.

So I figured that I’d try this one out as a cold brew since as a hot brew it was quite delicious. As a cold brew this is nearly as tasty! I say nearly because the coconut overpowers the pineapple a little more in the cold brew. Th pineapple is still there but the balance is just a little more off than the hot brew. I think this would make a fantastic cocktail if there is? Sch a thing as pineapple liquor to add to this cold brew. Either that or maybe a splash of lime….lemon? Not sure yet. Either way this is a really nice blend :)

I figure what the hell, let’s just have some more coconut! oooooh see this? this really is a delicious pina colada like drink. I can taste the pineapple! and the coconut isn’t overwhelming…yes. i must try this cold brewed! Seriously? I am really digging these teas from purearoma. While not all of them have been out of your world knock your socks off, these are some really nicely blended teas that are better than your average tea company in canada/US, at least in my opinion so far. This one leaves a bit of a dryness in my mouth when i drink it but it’s pineapple! and coconut! but not that artificially gross coconut taste. mmmmmmmmm……….

SIPDOWN! on this one as well tonight as the rest of it is going off to a lovely home. :) I think this may be a potential re-order for the summer, though i’m sad to say i forgot to try cold brewing this ever. The strawberry is refreshing and the green tea doesn’t get on my nerves :)

So seriously? There are giant strawberry chunks in this tea! I picked up this one to see how it compares to franks’ 52 teas strawberry rhubarb honeybush and stacy’s custom black strawberry rhubarb pie tea that we created. I’ve never seen a green strawberry rhubarb pie so in to the cart it went.

This is a really tasty tea! I still prefer my Ruby Pie from butiki teas but this is an interesting take on S&R. i don’t get a lot of rhubarb flavour out of this, but then rhubarb taste is a hard taste to catch imo. it’s generically tart ish. In any case. i am really quiet enjoying this one. and it’s a green tea! :) I can’t wait to try this one as a cold brew as i think it might be pretty darn tasty. Also, did i mention the giant strawberry pieces! Stacy has them too and they are so much fun to eat afterwards lol

Finished the last of my sample today, which was sad. Especially as I’d ordered a Russian Caravan from the Kent & Sussex Tea Company (lots of Russian customers, figured it should be good), and found it very disappointing. I’ll order Pure Aromas again, maybe trying smoky and unsmoky, but just wanted to add that I enjoyed my last cup with the addition of a half teaspoon of honey. Not just any honey – Sarah’s Warming Honey with Cinnamon. (So, HTML doesn’t work. Okay then: http://www.mileeven.com/products.) It was an amazingly good addition, which didn’t make me feel I could only enjoy the tea that way, but added a fun other way to drink when in the mood.

(Backlog, I have one. Should be doing teas that have no tasting note yet, but what can you do when the mood to talk about a particular cuppa strikes?)

Parcel arrived from PureAromaTea this morning, and there were so many enticing little packets I got quite dizzy! First order from them, so I’d chosen to try sample sizes of lots of teas, and they’d added three (generous-sized) samples free. Doing a little happy dance, and only just stopping myself from ripping open ALL the bags to sniff at once.

I’m not rating this one as I don’t have any other Russian Caravan experience to compare it against, as far as I remember. Also, I over-brewed a bit as I was serving my daughter’s cup of Peach Black, which smells delicious, btw. But I’m liking the level of smokiness in this, which is smoky but not licking the cold barbeque smoky, and it’s a very smooth black base. More tasting notes should follow at some point.

backlog sipdown! (223, after some adds and deletions but there’s another box waiting at the post office for me….eek!)

Another tea that went off to my friend last night after sharing a cup. I don’t think i’d reorder this but not because it isn’t a lovely tea. I just don’t love the taste of marzipan so it wouldn’t be something i would need to have on hand lots. I would however pick this up now and then in the sampler size to have a few cups :)

gotta love those samplers!

Getting sooo sleepy so my apologies for the poor tasting note on this one. Especially as a first tasting note.

1) this tea is like a smorgashboard of fruit chunks! It really does look like either a bag of candies or something that should be at the bottom of a cereal box lol.

2) not sure how they managed it but yes, this particular combination of fruit leaves a largely vanilla marzipan taste. Which is funny because i quite enjoy this tea (though it makes me sneeze a little) while i hate marzipan lol The tail end of the sip does turn slightly fruity though.

I also don’t care for marzipan, yet like how it works in this tea. Interesting!!

drank Red Berries by PureAromaTea

SIPDOWN!

I tried the last of this as a cold brew and to be honest? I think i like this better as a cold brew. The hibiscus didn’t turn the cold brew into a sour cup of red. Instead this was just a mild red brew that tasted quite nice. The cold brew sort of evened out the berry flavour and it almost reminded me of cherry jello but with the flavour backed off. lol

I had this again tonight in an effort to start getting through a few of my never ending sample sizes. I’m trying to pick a few here and there that are herbals teas, not because caffeine affects me, but so that i can find options for friends who are affected by caffeine. The last of this is also going in a cold brew for me to try tomorrow :)

Hmmmm so this tea smells delicious when you open it. The berry smell really is nice. I originally picked this up from purearoma because i need to find a few more teas for the evening as well as teas i can cold brew. The other portion of my sample will be going towards a cold brew, though i suspect the hibiscus may come out a little strong as a cold brew.

…but i digress. One this is brewed up, it has a lovely fruity taste to it, though there is the taste of the hibiscus at the tail end of the sip. I suspect a dash of sweetner would smooth that out though and make this a lovelier brew. I just got carried away and finished drinking it before i got around to trying it haha. Still digging the samples from purearoma. Also LOVE that they’re resealable. and in super awesome thick bags.

Backlog. Thanks to PureAromaTea for the sample!

The dry blend is emerald-green sencha mixed with chamomile heads and dried strawberry pieces, and very strongly scented of strawberry. The fragrance persists during steeping, but the flavor is surprisingly subtle, despite having a recommended steep time twice as long as the Japanese cherry tea. There was also much more astringency from this blend, very likely a result of the longer brew time, though it was only present in the first steep. I couldn’t taste anything that resembled champagne, but that’s not a problem for me. I got about 6 steepings out of this blend before it started to lose its flavor.

backlog sipdown! I had another cup of this last night but the rest went off with a friend who is looking for more variety in her herbal teas. She’s suffering from a heart arythmia and so her doc has said no more caffeine for a bit. So she came over to raid my cupboard since she knew i’d have a bunch to toss her way lol She was pretty amazed that i have 200+ teas and they all tuck away nicely in my bookcase. I think i’ve given her some ideas lol. I quite enjoyed this tea and will likely pick some up again. :)

I’m going to have to agree with Kittylovestea on this one. Man this smells good! It’s very much a strawberry tea, rather than a strawberry kiwi but i forgive it for that because this is a delicious, delicious strawberry tea. I NEED to try this cold brew because if it’s half as good as it is hot. There’s none of the usual bitterness that i seem to find with strawberry green teas..not that this is a green tea but that’s where my mind wandered.

Right off the bat when i sipped this, it made me instantly think of snapple…strawberry kiwi snapple to be specific but without the overwhelming sweetness of snapple. Either way, this is a win because my other half liked it and will drink it in summer…baby steps after all…someday he’ll love cold tea lol

sipdown! with the addition of the teas i purchased today, that brings me to 291. Not to terrible considering it was my goal to get to 290 by the end of this past weekend. I’ve really enjoyed this caramel green while it’s been in my cupboard. I’m pretty sure it’s my favourite now, topping even the persimmon tree’s version which i loved for the longest time. it’s smooth and delicious!

I really like this version of green caramel. I’m pretty sure it’s my favourite so far. There’s just something about it that is seriously creamy and delicious without any sort of bitterness. if i need a green caramel in my cupboard it’l be this one for sure!

I quite enjoy this one. It tastes very similar to other green caramel teas that i’ve had out there but this one has a much smoother taste to it that is just slightly more enjoyable. I’m finding that with a few of the purearoma teas. Even if the flavour is similar to other teas that i’ve had, the base tea and blending is just slightly more delicious and smoother than the other versions i’ve tried, that i’d take this version over the others. At least so far :)

Overall, a pretty tasty cup tonight for a GREEN caramel…now if only i could find the ultimate black caramel.

I picked up some dandelion tea (probably not this brand) at a co-op last year out of curiosity. This was the first time I’ve tried it. Verdict? Meh. It’s not bad-tasting, but it’s not terribly appealing either. I imagine this is one of those teas that you drink because you’re specifically expecting some sort of health benefit. I’ll probably just be relegating this to the back of the closet.
