This one is quite incredible.
I’m usually not a fan of flavored black tea, other than the classic Earl Gray, but this one changed my mind.
It tastes natural- not like the awful fake taste of so many American made flavored teas. It’s a perfect blend that will even satisfy an ardent, typically british style black tea drinker like me.
I tried this at a tea salon in Orange, CA and asked them to brew it stronger, since I typically like a bold English tea. They got it right, and it became the yummy caramel color with my milk, which means it’s brewed to an adequate strength for my taste.
I promptly got home and ordered this tea, I liked it so much. I do brew it stronger than it probably was designed for, which means I go through a tin pretty quickly. I’m just about to order my second tea! I can see this being a regular rotation in my cupboard, and when I’m having a hard afternoon this one brings me some cheer. I mean, how cool is it that you’re drinking fruit grown in the actual garden of Versailles? Instant travel in a cup. Yes, please.

I’d been wanting to try this for ages, so I was pleased as punch when Ost sent me this sample. It sounded like exactly the sort of flavors that I would like.
And I was right! This is really nice. The black base is not overwhelming, and there is a lovely creaminess to the tea, on top of which float the crisp fruit notes.
Its a very classy tea, and I’m really glad to have tried it.
And it counts as a sipdown! Woo!

Thanks so much to Sil for including this one in the HGTTB for me!
I’m so excited to try this! I’ve almost brewed it a couple of times, but as it’s the first tea I’ll be having from Nina’s Paris, I wanted to wait until I’d have some undistracted time to try it. Dry, it smells mostly of sour fruit and roses, with a follow up of sweet vanilla. As the water hits the leaves though, I get mostly green, with a bit of floral, and I was worried for a minute that this might be all that I would get in the flavor. Luckily, my fears were unfounded!
The taste of this is so juicy, without being fake or to the level of watered down fruit juice. For me, the rose is in the fore-front, and followed by fruit. I can’t really pick one out specifically, but if I had to, I would say cherry, rather than strawberery, takes the spotlight. Just picked cherry flavor though, not maraschino from a jar. The black base is smooth, but doesn’t really make itself known compared to the green in this cup. This is fine with me, as
The smell gets better and better as it cools. The vanilla really comes out, and the scent reminds me a little of a campino candy, but with less sugar and more freshness. The crispness of the green seems to recede a little, allowing the other flavors some time to shine. I brewed this as a black, and it’s not bitter, with just a hint of astringency after the sip. I’m excited to try this brewed as a green next time, and thanks to Sil being very generous with the amount when I asked to sample this, I can!

from the wonderful Marzipan!

This tea was delightful. Light refreshing citrus flavour. Satisfying. The aroma was divine and the taste delicate and enticing. I really feel the grapefruit complemented the keemun very well. Well balanced. I enjoyed this so much that I added it to my wish list post haste. ;)
Thanks Marzipan!

This one quit a strong smell in both dry and brewed form. I feel like it smells like tart apples.

I am finding this one a bit more bold an the usual Nina’s Paris black base but that could be my steeping parameters. I think it is better at a lower temp.

I am tasting lots of orange and orange peel. There’s a very strong tart Apple taste but I am wondering if that is supposed to be the pineapple. There is a strong undertone of safflowers.

So I got a new bag of this in the mail today, but in contrast to the last batch I had of this, which was rich and strong and delicious, this batch just tastes old. The flavoring seems to have completely faded away; even the base tea tastes weak and worn out. Considering what a knock out the base is normally, I’m pretty disappointed :(

Trying my first tea from Nina’s Paris! I really appreciate that they have cheap shipping on small orders, so you don’t feel pressured to buy a lot just to justify the postage. It got here fast too.

So J t’Aime. This one really hits the spot. When I opened the bag, I smelled boozy caramel. It reminds me a little bit of David’s Buttered Rum, but they have different bases, and a different balance among the flavors. J t’Aime has a breakfast tea-type base, strong, dark, and just a touch bitter (but not unpleasantly so). The caramel comes through strongest to me, while the vanilla and liqueur notes lightly round it out. Highly recommended.

Another sample from Marzipan thanks again!!!

This is another winner from Nina’s. Sweet juicy passion fruit! Really natural and well balanced flavor with the base. Great stuff!

I love my Nina’s teas. I think they might be my favorite French tea company so far. Not long ago I went on a binge and ordered a bunch of their teas. While I was comparing prices on Amazon (the online Nina’s store was better), I saw this tea on Amazon but couldn’t find it on the Nina’s site. Laurent started a chat with me while I was browsing and added it within moments. Great service!

I love the white tin that this comes in. 80g of tea is a lot, so if anyone wants a sample let me know. I wonder why this one gets a special white tin instead of the normal red ones?

Anyway, it’s a nice tea. Not my favorite of the flavored Nina’s teas by any means, but a nice cup. It’s a little bit orange-y. I didn’t get some of the other flavors that other reviews mentioned. It’s not transporting me like Grand Amour or The des Anges, but it’s nice enough and I won’t have any trouble finishing it I’m sure.

I usually don’t reach for strawberry teas, but this tea has me reconsidering that. Easily the best strawberry tea I have ever had.

I took this to class the other day and it didn’t taste anything like I thought it should – or like the reviews led me to believe. It tasted orange/spicey. So I figured that was user error and sure enough, my steeper still smelled like the prior tea. I tried again today and I have been happily nursing a 16 oz serving of this. Delicious, strawberry and cream. I really love it.

From MissB, probably a really long time ago. Thank you!

It’s not bad. There were lots of crumbs in the bag, which is why I hadn’t made it before. As it sat and I drank it, it went quite bitter because of the tiny pieces.

When fresh, the flavour was nice. It was… EG-ish I think maybe? IDK. I have a headache and I’m cooking dinner and also cleaning my apartment. So I wasn’t paying a lot of attention. I drank it up quite fast though, and would be happy to try it again if I had the opportunity.

Mmm, I think this may be the best cherry-flavored tea I’ve tried! This seems to be a hard flavor to get right…it can easily be too artificial or medicinal or tart. But this tea tastes like real cherry juice: sweet and natural. The base tea is very light and silky and I’m not picking up any grassiness or bitterness after a 2-minute steep. Thank you to Kaylee for the sample!

The dry leaves are all about vanilla and caramel. Sweet and strong. My body was lifted up and lured towards the scent like a cartoon character. The fragrance had me stepping into in a confectioner’s shop. After steeping, the brew’s aroma shouts vanilla and caramel along with a buttery sweetness. After brewing this tea, my little office smelled like a french patisserie fully of buttery sweetness. The tea itself surprised me, as the flavor is actually subtle. Coconut, vanilla, butter, caramel and malty black tea all play nicely together. I could also detect notes of raw almonds. The caramel flavor is smooth and pleasant, not at all like the demanding scent of the brewed tea.

This tea is all citrus and roses which is just lovely. The first thing I taste is grapefruit, followed by a high, bright lemon note. The rose comes in right at the end of the sip, but it’s soft… delicate rather than like perfume. The strawberry is noticeable in the smell but not in the sip which was a tiny bit disappointing, but I also liked smelling berry while tasting citrus and rose. It all worked together to make a very, very nice tea.

Thank you Blodeuyn for for this tasty sample!

Man, I can’t believe my winter break is almost over. At least it has been a nice one, just wish I was a bit more productive. At least my room is not a disaster anymore. Plus for Christmas my parents got me my first smart phone, NOW I AM PART OF THE FUTURE! I love it so much (its a LG G3)! It is like having a mini computer in my hand. You can edit the interface so much too!

Anyways after getting a few samples from Ninas tea I finally got a review up for it. This one was my favorite out of the three; though they all were really good.

I have tried black and green mix teas before and they were….. ok. It’s tough to mix different types of teas, especially ones with totally different types of brewing temp like green and black. But that is what intrigued me about the tea. I love weird and experimental stuff. Plus just look at it! It’s so pretty! Not to mention it has strawberry and vanilla flavors. Not sure what type of black tea is in it, but I am sure that the green tea in the mix is a Japanese one by the looks of it. I was pondering what temp to brew the tea at for best results and I decided on 190F; hot enough to bring out the black tea flavor, but not hot enough to totally bake the green tea.

Oh man was this tea good. The black tea flavor was not over powering, but had a light, malty flavor that complemented the tangy “green” flavor, with hints of floral bits from both; though that could be from the pretty flowers in the mix. The flavoring is perfect as well. Nice strong, sweet, fruit flavor with a supporting, not overpowering vanilla flavor. Once again the flavor added seems to last forever, even into the 3rd steep. I didn’t even bother really with adding sugar. It tasted so good without, like it had real fresh fruit in it, and didn’t taste bitter at all.

Overall: 5 out of 5

Thanks to the generous Lala for passing down a cup of this! I’m not sure how old this tea is, but I’m only picking up vanilla with a touch of fruit in the background, but it’s not distinctively peach or apricot. It almost tastes more like apple than the former two. Nice and smooth, no bitterness or astringency. I could see myself picking up some of this when I make an order (ugh, whenever that’ll be…).

Lala

I am not a hundred percent sure how old it is but most likely 6-8 months -ish

Fjellrev

Ah ok, either way it was really smooth. I’m sure it’s fantastic fresh. :)

Morning cup thanks to the wonderful Lala! I got mostly strawberry from this with a hint of citrus, but no distinctive grapefruit or rose. It didn’t go bitter at all.

Someday I’ll get off my butt and make a Nina’s order… when my stash dwindles. Always saying that!
