Kind of fun that I got an RTD in a “Teas I Drink In A Day” round-up since I don’t normally post about them on IG even though I actually drink quite a lot. I really love this company’s branding and the drinks I’ve tried have all been very solid – the grapefruit in particular is really good. Mostly I like how they’re not trying to cover the grassier, herbal taste of the mate itself.

I have a coworker who LOVES this company and buys their RTDs by the case full. This is her favourite and it’s taken me so long to find it available for sale in grocery in a format other than a full case (which I’m not willing to blind buy). The single cans are always sold out, It is really good, though. Maybe better than the grapefruit. Similar balance of flavours; mostly green mate with a bright accent of fresh fruits. Not too sweet at all. The can has artwork featuring different fruits like peaches and mangoes, but it really does just taste generically tropical in a perfectly lovely way.

I wanted to like this one a lot more than I actually did.

I will say that it’s actually very yerba mate forward and not just another sparkling juice type drink under the guise of being tea, but as much as I appreciate how mate forward it is I found it off-puttingly sharp and hibiscus forward with a kind of coppery metallic/mineral undertone. I would have liked a little more blackberry and also just a little more natural sweetness.

Received a free can of this at the door of the MTL Tea Festival, so I’ve been waiting for a morning where I didn’t have time to strain a cold brew to enjoy it for my commute tea. I forgot how distinct the green bite and subtle earthy smokiness of the mate is in these MANA drinks so my first sip caught me a little of guard – but only slightly. I also quickly re-centered myself following that and was able to get super into this well balanced mix of sweet fresh grapefruit with the mate. It’s so lively and flavourful but never too sweet either. I really want to try and find their other flavours and see what those are like.

Sipdown (1543)!

I recently was gifted a free “Discovery” Tea Box from the MTL Tea Festival’s virtual tea festival this year. They have three that went on presale as of yesterday: Discovery, Matcha, and Grand Cru. I chose Discovery because I was worried Grand Cru would be too green tea heavy and I don’t really need more matcha right now. It’s definitely sad that there hasn’t been an in person festival since this first one in 2019, but this is a pretty solid way to still get to support the festival and the different local tea companies that would have been present. If anyone (I think just in Canada?) wants to get one of the boxes, you can use “Kelly15” for 15% off – I don’t get any kickbacks or anything from it, just a bonus code that they also gave me with this box.

This is one of three RTDs that were included, and I was stoked to see this one because it’s a new to me company! The packaging is gorgeous and super fun, but the most exciting part is honestly just that the taste is really good. Very bright and lively sweet pink grapefruit flavour with a hint of that earthy/grassy yerba mate in the finish. It’s super clean and natural tasting and reminds me of a Fresca if you made it with tea. Delicious!

Flavors: Citrusy, Grapefruit, Grass, Sweet
