I am still not tired of this tea. It’s even good to dunk chocolate chip cookies in!
(I just used the last of my maple syrup to sweeten it though. Time to buy more!)

I was going to make pancakes and bacon for breakfast, but I slept in instead and hubby had cereal. So when I got up I decided to experiment and make myself cottage cheese pancakes for one using this easy recipe: http://www.food.com/recipe/cottage-cheese-pancakes-bisquick-237624 The texture and flavor didn’t quite “go” right with maple syrup as planed, but I realized these are like across between a pancake and a blintz! So I slathered them with blackberry preserves and rolled them up and ate them and they were awesome and messy and yummy and fairly healthy. Then I brewed up some Maple Bacon tea and sweetened it with a bit of maple syrup, to get my sweet & salty fix with fewer calories! Hooray for an easy lazy Sunday breakfast!

Added 1 tsp maple syrup to sweeten. A great tea for making a bowl of cereal feel more like a hearty breakfast!

I add a tsp to the smoky bacon. I’m gonna get the chocolate bacon I think.

the perfect breakfast tea, if your breakfast consists of eggs and toast like mine does today. A teaspoon of good maple syrup is the perfect sweetener!

This was GREAT with a teaspoon of good quality maple syrup. The perfect tea to go with my breakfast of fried egg on english muffin w/ provolone. I love the sweet, brisk, and slightly smoky notes of the tea. I am raising my rating, as the syrup really made this tea.

That sounds like an amazing breakfast!

I’ve had maple syrup in the smoky bacon- it is delicious.

I bought this for my hubby’s birthday, hoping we’d both like it. Turns out it’s too weird for him.

It is bacon upfront (a bit smoky and salty), with a slightly sweet finish. I added a bit of sugar and milk, then decided it wasn’t sweet enough, and added maple syrup. Next time I’ll try maple syrup as my only sweetener. I think it would be good with a plate of scrambled egg or biscuits & gravy, or some other hearty breakfast. It’s a fairly robust tea that tastes like breakfast in a cup. Def not for everday, but a good once-in-a-while change.

Took me a while to try this, but decided to have it with breakfast (pancakes & maple syrup) this morning. What a perfect accompaniment! Not too bacon-y, but nice and smokey, with a slightly sweet flavour from the bacon. Had it with milk and sugar.

Another great tea from the madman himself, Frank at 52teas/manteas/zoomdweebie. The smokiness mixes perfectly with the bacon and is a great black tea.

It may be a gimmick, but “man”…it’s an awesome gimmick.

Would’ve worked better with a Lapsang base instead of an Assam/Nilgiri one, though.

A great breakfast tea that packs a punch. This tea brews up darker than most other black teas in just the first few seconds of steeping. This is CTC style tea, which means that the leaves look more like coffee grinds than tea.

Unbrewed tea smells somewhat like licorice, while brewed it tastes just like an incredibly strong black tea.

Had this w/ lunch (breakfast food- a chocolate chip waffle and breakfast sausages). Decided to make my own variation of maple bacon tea by adding 1tsp of maple syrup to my cuppa. Pretty good. It didn’t really sweeten it, but changed it from HOLY CRAP- IT’S BACON!!! to Mmmm… It’s bacon!

I’ve been wondering about this tea…I may have to give it a whirl. it certainly is a Mad blend

Breakfast sounds so tasty! Bacon tea? Lapsang?

Cofftea

Yep, lapsang souchong w/ bacon bits. Regular lapsang souchong tastes like campfire to me, this tastes more like beef jerky to me.

Another tea from Harney & Sons (the store). Had it w/ chicken wrap using their Lapsang souchong cheese). Same base tea, 2 different flavors.

When I smell the raw leaves, I can tell this isn’t your ordinary lapsang souchong. Instead of smelling like you’re standing over a camp fire, it smells like you’re in a smoke house.

The liquor is a medium dark brown with reddish tones. It doesn’t really smell like bacon, more like beef jerky.

You’ve heard of Liquid Smoke? Well this is Liquid Beef Jerky. Seriously. Like you’re drinking it thru a straw. They nailed the beef jerky, I think a name change is in order.

This isn’t personally my cup of tea, but I had to give it a 100 because of accuracy. Even though it’s more beef jerky rather than bacony, it’s definitely meaty. Maybe a little salt would bring out the bacon specific flavor more?

a 100? wow.

Cofftea

Yeah, they nailed it.

Cofftea

2nd infusion, 6 min. Nearly identical to infusion 1, just a bit weaker.

AmazonV

oooo bacon, YUM

Cofftea

3rd infusion, 7 min. The liquor is now a camel color w/ orange tints and the flavor is slightly lighter than the 2nd.

Cofftea

4th infusion, 8 min. The liquor is liess orange now and the flavor is much less smokey.
