Other Black Chais take notice!

This is the way you do it!
Everything has it’s place but no one is too pushy trying to get out in front for more attention! WOW! Very Nice!

I was reading LiberTeas “honey” option – eventho I don’t ever add anything to my teas – even chai – and I don’t think this Chai needs it – I might try it sometime just for fun with Agave Nectar…you know, expand my horizons…lol…

Regardless…this is a black chai I could drink again! Thanks LiberTEAs!!!
Tasty!

It was a good chai day – all ’round!

LENA

Oooh wow. If you loved this Chai plain, I bet I would love it in traditional stovetop form.

TeaEqualsBliss

@ LENA – I never added anything to Black Tea growing up so I figured I would just stick with it as I experimented with other teas and really try and taste each blend/mix/pairing/variety as-is or NAKED…lol…people have called me weird for doing Chai’s naked but…oh well…lol…I don’t mind…

__Morgana__

I’m like you on the naked part, except for chai. In a weak moment I tried it with milk/sweetener and have never been able to go back.

LENA

I always try every tea I come across “naked” at first. Then, if I think it will improve the taste, I’ll add sweetener or milk/soy. But I have to agree with Morgana – once I tried “traditional chai”, I could not go back to naked. LOL!

Cofftea

I’m what you’d call a diversified chai snob LOL I love chai both clean or w/ milk… but never sweetener… thie one sweetener I would like to try would be ROT’s chai honey.

LiberTEAS

I created this chai with simplicity in mind (big surprise, huh?) I absolutely despise traditional stovetop methods for steeping chai… I do not steep any chai in milk. About the closest I come is I will heat milk for a pirate’s chai (that is, matcha chai). I don’t like mess. I don’t like fuss. I want my tea brewing simple.

So, that is why I created this blend… and with that very thought in mind, that it would have to taste excellent when brewed in water, and would have to taste even better if you went latte with it (that is, brewed it in water, and then added warm milk to the brewed tea).

TeaEqualsBliss: I’m so happy you like this blend. :)

AmazonV

i refuse to try and like this blend (hides) i can’t bear to lose any more favorite teas and i know LiberTEAS your closing your one shop up

Cofftea

Haha good point AmazonV.

LiberTEAS

AmazonV, what if I just sent you a sample? Would you not try it?

AmazonV

I was so craving a cuppa Florence and went to my tea cupboard to make me a cup and there sat my samples from all my steeps and in front was this one. I decided to give it a shot as it is a chocolate flavored black tea. I was very excited to try it as it is made by LiberTEAS while I’ve never actually had the opportunity to try any of her teas I love reading her posts.

Anyway on to the tea the dry leaf smelled delicious like delicious enough to eat delicious. Steeped 5 minutes in boiling water and the smell is still delicious but I am now picking up on very faint hints of the rose in this blend. The liquor is very dark with hints of orange and red the chocolate taste is very good. As you all know I love me some Florence and so it’s hard for me to be unbiased when it comes to chocolate teas but I have to say where Florence has the hazelnutty chocolate taste this one has a rose chocolate taste so they are completely different chocolate teas. Enough rambling I like this tea and I have to Thank AmazonV for this sample (Thanks AmazonV).

I recently blended a batch of this tea (which has already sold out, thanks to some very devoted fans of the tea), but I needed to test it before I could ship it! So that’s what I’m doing.

Pleasant, smooth, and rich. I love the note of cinnamon which is not spicy – a sweeter side of cinnamon.

Steep Information:
Amount: 2 tsp
Additives: none
Water: Zarafina 2c
Tool: Zarafina 2c black-loose-med
Served: Hot

Tasting Notes:
Dry Leaf Smell: Coco, smoky, sweet
Steeped Tea Smell: Light coco, Black tea, Sweet
Flavor: black tea, hint of dark chocolate
Body: Medium
Aftertaste: none
Liquor: opaque dark brown like coffee

If your expecting milk chocolate this is not your tea, it’s more a dark chocolate.

Post-Steep Additives: German rock sugar, sweeter

Marginally better, but really, it’s lightly coco black tea, good but not amazing. Looking at the other steepster reviews got me all giddy. I was originally afraid I would love the tea and be devastated at it no longer being available. Luckily it’s a good cup of tea, but I’ll be fine without (Florence will see me though).

Resteep: same as first

drank Starry Night by Liber Teas
4843 tasting notes

Since it’s getting later, I figured I’d slow things down a little and drink something with a little (or no!) caffeine. I love my Starry Night blend. Green rooibos, which I prefer over the red, with delightful fruit flavors – peach and mango are the most prominent.

Delicious!

Testing out my latest batch (and probably my last batch). Yummy – if I do say so myself. The caramel is sweet but not too sweet – the Assam malty.

I’ve really missed this blend!

Yum! I love my caramel tea!

The flavor is rich and smooth, but with a bold base – a touch of malt that really goes nicely with the caramel notes. Not super sweet – even though I named it as such… I was thinking of Axl Rose at the time! It has a nice sweetness though but one that I like to accent with a bit of raw sugar to bring out some of the richer notes of the caramel.

YUM!

Well, I just sold the very last of this that I had available for sale, so I’m down to my own personal stash! To celebrate, I decided to brew a cup! YUMMY!

This is without a doubt my favorite chocolate tea. I probably sound biased as I say that, but, really, this is the tea that started it for me because I was trying to recreate a tea that I had fallen in love with many years ago, and the place where I got it went out of business. I tried a lot of other chocolate blends along the way, and a lot of others since then – many are good, some are VERY good… but none are as good as this. THIS is as good as it gets. Period!

Smooth, rich, creamy, delicious! LOVE IT!

Oh you tease us with this review! ;) If it’s not available anymore, we won’t be able to try it’s chocolate-y goodness! So many chocolate-flavored teas are more cocoa-like than chocolate. I hope someday you’ll consider creating more!

drank Allergi-TEA by Liber Teas

More backlogging… Once the seasonal allergies hit, they hit me hard! After I have some caffeine, I usually reach for this to help alleviate the symptoms. I don’t always log it, though, because it is more like routine for me starting by about mid-February and on through about May or June.

Lovely minty taste. I’m not a particular fan of herbal blends for the most part, but I like this one. The mint gives it a nice flavor, and by the time I’ve emptied the cup, my symptoms are beginning to subside and that is a definite plus.

drank Allergi-TEA by Liber Teas

A bit of a backlog here – I started the morning with a cup of my Allergi-TEA. My allergies are in full swing. I wake up with my eyes swollen, my throat feeling a bit like sandpaper, and coughing, sneezing, and just basically miserable. My Allergi-TEA really helps me feel human again. Soothes the throat, calms the coughing, and my eyes don’t itch any more. For that alone, I am giving it a perfect score this time.

A little bit of a backlog here – I started my morning with this instead of my Breakfast Blend. My allergies are in full swing and I needed to start fighting them immediately.

Nice, bright flavor. More importantly, my eyes don’t itch now, and neither does my throat. I am feeling so much better!

Since allergy season has arrived (for me, anyways), it’s time for me to break out the artillery and fight the symptoms. I love my Allergi-TEA.

It has a clean, peppermint-y flavor. More importantly though, is that it really helps with the symptoms. I add a dollop of raw, locally harvested honey which also helps considerably.

So, along with my daily Oolong, this will be a daily tea for me for a while!

This sounds so good! My someone special has really bad allergies. Honey helps w/ allergies? Interesting.

LiberTEAS

the honey should be raw and locally harvested. Since the bees will collect the pollen from the local plants that are causing the allergic reactions, by using the locally harvested, raw honey, you are taking in a little of the pollen, in turn, allowing the body to build an immunity to those pollens.

Cofftea

Wow! I learned something new. Cool! I’ll pass this info along to Grant. =D

I ♥ NewYorkCiTEA

The farmer’s market opens here this Saturday and I’ll be picking up some local honey then. The husband is convinced that the local raw milk helps with his allergies.

LiberTEAS

chrine: that is possible too. I didn’t think of that!

DoorMouse

This tea sounds amazing, though where can I get some? Also LiberTEA your side links aren’t working. =(

LiberTEAS

My teas are no longer available for sale. I closed the door on my business a few years ago. Thank you though! The links appear to be working now… at least to me they are … are they still not working for you?

drank Meadow Nocturne by Liber Teas

Without a doubt this is my favorite chamomile blend, and since I’m headed to bed a bit earlier than usual tonight, I feel like I can use a little encouragement via my Meadow Nocturne.

I am not a particular fan of chamomile, but, I do like it ok in blends, and it certainly is effective in promoting relaxation. I love how the honeybush gives this blend a pleasant sweetness, and I absolutely adore lavender. This is just delightful and I can already start to feel that much needed sense of calm.

Now, I am contemplating what I shall have next…

Ahhh… I love my Breakfast Blend!

Good Morning, and for those of you who celebrate it: Happy Easter! For those who do not… happy Spring! It doesn’t seem much like spring to me lately, we’ve been having cold, wet, dreary weather here in the Pacific NorthWET!

A bit of a backlog – I started my morning with a bit of breakfast blend, much the way I do most mornings. I like the way it prepares me for the day. Deliciously bold, with a sweet note of vanilla. YUM!

My morning cuppa. Yes… I realize it’s noon, but, I just woke up so… this is my morning!

Smooth yet robust enough to help me shake off the slumbers and face the day! I generally add just a dollop of honey and sometimes a splash of warmed milk, but this time, I’m not going latte – just honey. And it’s oh so good! The vanilla is soft, I really like how this flavor develops in the cup. Starts out soft, and continues to build as I make my way down to the last drop.

I usually start my day with this tea, although this morning, I wanted a little spice to start my day so I started with the Chipotle Chai and Assam. I am now finishing up my cup of Breakfast Blend.

It’s a little weird to be writing a note about my own tea, especially since I’ve been drinking this same tea for about six years now. It is robust yet smooth and I love the bit of vanilla in this blend, it starts off very subtle and the flavor develops as you continue to drink your way down to mid-cup. Perfect with a little milk and honey.

drank Potpourri by Liber Teas
4843 tasting notes

In honor of our contest that’s running for the rest of this week, I decided to brew some of this and ice it.

http://sororiteasisters.com/2010/07/07/potpourri-tea-from-liberteas-and-tea-giveaway/

This is one that is very good both hot or iced. The jasmine and lemony notes really come through nicely when it’s cold.

Since it’s my own blend, I’m not going to numerically rate it (it’s kind of hard for me to be unbiased about my own teas)… but, if I were to rate it, I’d give it a very strong 100. (hehe)
