I’m totally LOVING this has Grapefruit, Orange, AND Bergamot in it! I love when a flavored EG goes the extra mile! This is citrusy-fruity and juicy and I really like it. It’s lighter on the perfumy and astringency notes of other EGs but I’m totally ok with that! The Citrus Fruit Flavors are lovely and a great pick-me-up!
Black tea isn’t usually my thing but this manages to deliver black tea goodness without too much harshness on the gut. Stands well on its own, like a fine black coffee, but for those who don’t care much for black tea, the addition of milk and honey makes this a joy to drink. I bought this for when I was hosting when people might not appreciate black tea, but it finds itself in my teapot more often than I expected.
Preparation
mm this tea was just what I needed. My tummy hurts from trying to find happiness in sour soothers. Man I can’t kick them, bulk barn is my haven and sour keys are my drug.
But enough of them do not a happy tummy make!
This tea smells amaaaazing. The lavender is so soothing, and the rose buds are beautiful to look at.
The taste is wonderful – I haven’t had a good lavender tea in a while and this one is hitting the spot. There is a spiciness to this tea – not a pepper spice, but a cooking spice – like thyme almost. The taste is light but perfectly blended.
So so relaxing – my tummy feels better already.
Thank you so much for this sample LiberTeas! I’m very interested in this tea company :)
Hah I am the same way with bulk barn..but sour gummy bears are my drug of choice. No matter how much my tummy hurts I can’t. stop.
I have the same thing with bulk green olives from Bulk Barn??? Does that make me weird?! :P (I just avoid shopping there whenever I can, haha.)
If you’re any enemy of fun, please stop reading now. Seriously, shoo! Go and have some dental work done, get a jump on your taxes, or simply just be gone with you. HoopLa from Indie Tea is all about fun, and I won’t have anyone who can’t appreciate the ingenious mix of herbal tea, fruit, and vegan gummy bears ruining the party! AND I don’t want to hear any nonsense about about gummy bears having no place in a serous tea. HoopLa is seriously delicious and I applaud Indie tea for making my cup of herbal tea even more enjoyable.
HoopLa is chock-a-block with dried fruit, vegan gummy bears, and herbs. The infusion is a bright yellow with a distinctive, fresh, lemon aroma. At first sip, a wonderful, uplifting, citrusy brightness washes over me. The body is light and refreshing with a sweet, lingering finish. I can’t wait to take another sip!
Indie Tea is donating 5% of their tea sales in October to the Susan G. Komen Foundation and we all know that breast cancer research is a great cause. And if you add a tin of Cranberry Boobilicious to your order they’ll make an additional donation to the cause. It’s a win-win-win-win-win situation!

Gummy bears in tea? That does sound like a cup full of fun. And a donation to breast cancer research? I will have to put this on my list to try out.
This is amazing! I am trying my hand at blending and wishing I could put things like this in my tea… why didn’t I just do it? But first – an Indie tea order. shwing!
Gummy bears? Like… really? Real ones? GOSH! O.O I nominate this as most bizarre tea ever. How weirdly intriguing!
Angrboda Yep! Really real gummy bears… so much fun!

Vicki Gullem HoopLa is the first Indie Tea I’ve tried thus far. I have three others to try, but I’ve fallen behind on my tea sampling. Poor me, right? I think that LiberTeas may have a few recommendations though :)
Relaxing after a busy day of dance class and running around. This is a nice cup to sip while relaxing! I can taste each note – the lavender, the rose, the orange and the green tea. A lovely medley of flavors.
The dry leaf is GORGEOUS! Big slices of dried orange and rose buds and petals tossed with large Dragon Well leaves and tiny lavender buds. It smells gorgeous too. I especially love the aroma of the brewed liquor, the lavender and rose and citrus meld together and the fragrance is intoxicating.
It tastes rather amazing too. I am happy that they used Dragon Well in this blend, so often in blends like these Sencha is the choice, and not that I have anything against a good Sencha, but with these light floral notes, the Dragon Well seems a better choice than a buttery Sencha.
Light, sweet, floral with just a hint of citrus in the background. Delightful!
Preparation
A good moroccan mint tea. Well-balanced and satisfying.

This is a very pleasing balance of peppermint and gunpowder green tea. No one flavor overwhelming the others. The peppermint is strong, but so is the green tea, and I’m not getting the overwhelmingly vegetative taste that I sometimes get from a gunpowder green. A very nice blend, indeed.
Preparation
I’m a fan. Loose leaf teas are my favorite, and the only reason I ever have bagged tea is because TJ MAxx gets so many and I am a sucker for cool packaging. This one was a gift, and I like it. I’m a fan of benefits in tea, and consider it more important than the taste. The taste of this doesn’t rock my world, but I feel better drinking it than purely delicious blends.
Preparation
This is a wonderful and deliciously different chai. It’s been a while since I’ve last tasted it, and I didn’t realize how much I missed it until I sipped it again. It is so nice.
It isn’t overly spicy, but, what I would call a well-seasoned spice blend. It has a good amount of spice without being hot or overwhelming. The black tea is strong and malty and delicious. I can taste the hint of orange in the background and it offers a nice light flavor to the blend, giving it a sense of balance.
A very good chai.
Yum! Chai!
This is a very good chai. A very good blend of spices – it tastes even with no one spice overwhelming the blend. Just a delicious, warm spicy cup! The black tea base is solid and delicious.
I’m liking this the more I sip on it.
Preparation
Enjoying my last cup of this … and I really did enjoy it! It’s a great blend.
Here is my full-length review of it: http://sororiteasisters.com/2011/01/05/out-of-your-gourd-from-indie-tea/
This is one really awesome blend!
A lot of different tastes in the cup, primarily I taste hints of citrus and licorice, but there is a nice smoky spiced undertone to it too. Very good! Not very much in the way of the chocolate flavor, but, the other flavors going on are delicious and intriguing. Spicy, but not too spicy, sweet… but not too sweet. Very well-balanced.
I really am liking what I’m seeing from this tea company so far. Cool packaging and interesting and very DIFFERENT blends.
Using the word “dandy” is dandy! :D
