This seems to be loosing the chocolate and the mint. Both are still present but quite subtle. I am passing the rest on to a friend…

This lost quite a bit of the aroma it once hard but it’s still a nice even taste of Chocolate and Mint in a flavored Black.

Chocolate and Mint…ahhh…
This smells AWESOME. I want to bathe in it!

Post infusion the leaves smell a little like chocolate covered Coffee Beans tho.

This is a nice Minty Chocolate indeed. More Mint than Chocolate. But still great in my book.

This one smells MOST unusual!!!

I can smell Gunpowder, Lemon, Cumin, and Cinnamon right off the bat. I can honestly say I have never smelled anything quite like this.

The leaves, once unraveled, are fairly large and a green-gray color.

The liquid is a light to medium yellow-brown. It’s a little gritty.

Post infusion the tea liquid’s aroma evens out quite a bit.

I really wasn’t sure what to expect with the taste of this one! But it’s almost sweet with a hint of spice. And the spice flavor I am tasting IS the cumin…not much else. I do like that the lemongrass seems to help counteract the spice.

Based solely on the flavor of the tea – I don’t know if I would be able to identify that it’s a GREEN Chai…but when you see the ingredients list it makes sense.

This is a pretty decent tasting green overall…but if you are looking for the classic spicy chai taste – I don’t think you will find what you need in this tea. But based on the tasty-factor…it’s not bad.

Upping the rating…much better than I remember it. Still nutty, yes, but more flavorful. Also quite forgiving incase you over infuse!

Dry leaf scent: Slightly Roasted-Peanut/Vegetable-scent
Wet Leaf Scent: Buttered Veggies
Color: Very light brown for a black tea
Taste: Vegetal, slightly roasted, slightly nutty. Unlike any black tea I have ever had. Very different.

Altho this had a nice strong spice smell – if that’s what you are into – it terrified me! Many of you know that there have been many teas with spices in them that I seem to have ‘issues’ with. The smell alone made me assume this one would be one of those teas for me…but I’m game…bring it on!

After infusion I noticed the liquid was a light to light-medium brown in color…a fairly rare shade for a black tea in my opinion, this shade, I mean! This confused me…maybe it won’t be as spicy as I thought it would be!?

It wasn’t!!!! My nervousness went down at least 5 levels! This is a pretty darned good flavored black tea! Spices and all! This spices are NOT the center of attention…they don’t have to be in the front of the line…they don’t need all of the attention, AND the world does NOT revolve around the spice! Thank the tea gods! The Spice is quite nice! It made friends with the black tea and live in harmony! Wooooooot!!!!

I think this note would’ve made Frank Herbert very proud: mmm…spice… ;)

Atacdad

Dry leaf smells like sweet grass.
Wet leaves during infusion remind me of buttered veggies when it comes to the aroma.

The color post-infusion is a mild-glowing yellow. There is no scent. The taste is smooth and buttery. Pleasant and satisfying!

This is a nice relaxing cup of Dragonwell! No funky after taste! :)

2nd infusion…added 4 more pearls. So…we are up to 16 pearls. I infused for 15+ minutes.

Color darkened to a pale yellowish color. Still no scent. But there is more flavor! YAY!

This is quite tasty but I had to use quite a bit…about 3 times the amount suggested…and twice as long infusion-wise.

It’s a hydrating type taste sweet and almost juicy.

If you have patience to fiddle with this both in amount and length it might work for you. it wouldn’t be the first one I would grab…but – end result…it’s pretty yummy.

Well, I decided to infuse 12 pearls…not sure if it’s because I am using a bigger cup/mug, because I like my teas (usually) stronger, because I am unable to follow directions, because I like to rebel, or all of the above!?

Prior and during infusion there really isn’t a scent to this white tea…or after infusing for that matter. The pearls seem to be struggling to open but I think that’s a good sign of multiple infusions which I am going to put to the test today.

Next to clear in color post infusion.

EXTREMELY light and mellow in every way. I can tell it’s a white tea but that’s about it. I infused for 5+ minutes. I will try much longer next infusion. This isn’t bad at all but it’s hard to describe because it’s SOOOOOO mellow, too!

I don’t think I want to put a rating on this yet…

Dry leaves smell airy and slightly charred. As it infuses the liquid smells more of a smokey tea. Then afterwards it’s very slightly smokey and mostly black tea type smelling aroma.

The taste is fairly light smoke at first but then malty and light. It’s surprisingly semi-sweet, semi-mellow, and a little smokey. I really like this one the more I drink it. A nice Mellow to Medium Black.

Just received this in the mail today!

I random picked one of the samples out of the package! This was the first one I chose. Dry leaves remind me of a kitchen that has recently been cleaned with Orange Glo and Lemon Pledge – together…because you can smell the fresh, clean orange smell but also a little woodsy as well!

Post infusion it’s more of an orange and a blossom. The scent is very ‘pretty’. And pleasant!

This is a fairly full-bodied Oolong! It has some kick to it! Maybe it’s the strong, quiet type!?

As I continue to sip…there is more of a blossom than an orange but it seems to all even out at the end. I like this! Very nice!

Wow! I just checked out Imperial Tea Garden’s sampelrs – what a nice variety! Oh lordy: Kangaroo Lapsang? I am sooo curious about that one. Tea budget don’t fail me now! (I’m going through the whole “but it’s not technically May yet” argument in my head).

::uses willpower::

I’ll enjoy seeing what you have to say about these teas since I might have to try some after my tea-purchasing hiatus is over! :D

TeaEqualsBliss

LOL – I didn’t even see the Kangaroo one! WOW!

TeaEqualsBliss

I have more on tap, btw!

Rabs

Hooray! I shall live vicariously through you :)
