Again!! The black tea base really takes over the flavor. This one is worse though…I don’t taste pineapple at all. What a disappointment :(
Glad I didn’t waste my money on this one either, because it really did sound good to me.
I think I might just stay with Snowflake from this company, and that’s all :/
Thank you The Cookie Lady for this sample!

Got a sample of this one from The Cookie Lady! Glad I got to try a sample instead of buying it. Pretty disappointed in this vanilla tea too! What’s with all these bad vanilla teas tonight?! XD And from good companies too! I don’t understand…
But this one would be so much better if the vanilla was stronger. I can definitely taste the vanilla more in this one as opposed to the last one I tried. But, the black tea base kinda overrides everything :/
So yeah…not a fan of this one either.
Thanks for the sample though, The Cookie Lady!

Flavors: Vanilla

TeaBrat

Vanilla seems like a hard flavor to get “right” in tea for some reason

Ost

Yeah…seems that way tonight. xD Though generally speaking, in the past I’ve found them usually to be decent. Just tonight I’ve picked all the wrong vanillas! XD

The Cookie Lady

I’m not too sure how old this was…perhaps the vanilla would be stronger if it was fresher? I haven’t tasted this one myself yet lol

Ost

Well when did you get it, The Cookie Lady?

Cheri

I agree with TeaBrat – Vanilla seems to be one of those that is hard to get just right.

From the Santea Clause TTB

This tea really does taste/smell like cooked apples! There’s a slight bakery note, but that fades as the tea cools. The effect overall is sweet. I would have expected the tea itself to be a bit tart, as it seems like the type of tea I usually find hibiscus in, but the black base is quite alright. It’s not the most amazing thing ever, but it’s all about the flavoring in this tea.

There are some red pieces of something scattered in the black tea, but I’m not exactly sure what those are. I don’t think they’re apple?

The cooked apple flavor in this tea is yummy. It’s not exactly apple pie, but between the apple and the spices it’s pretty close.

From the SanTEA Claus TTB

Very yummy cooked apple flavor. There’s also cinnamon and nutmeg, but this isn’t a spice heavy tea. I like that the spices were used cautiously allowing the apple to take center stage. Not tasting anything that reminds me of pie crust, but I still find this to be an enjoyable tea.

Sounds delicious! I don’t think I’ve had a spiced apple tea that has really either a) tasted appropriately of apple, or b) been spiced well. Fitting for the season!

From TTTB:

There weren’t many black teas in the box so its stay with me will be brief. I pulled this one out and honestly didn’t expect much, since so many tea boxes get their flavors all in a wad due to bad packaging.

I was really surprised how strong the currant scent was when I opened the (double bagged) package. It was really inviting!

The first cup was really good. Nice black base, strong currant flavor – but not too strong. The second steep was really astringent though, and doesn’t taste much.

I realize that I have been sucking like a Dyson DC65 at getting all my reviews done.. In fact, there are upwards to 50 reviews in the pit. How did they get down there with Dean Winchester, anyways?! Man, time flies. I promise that I won’t go too heavy on the Supernatural references…but my roommate left the Pop doll of Dean on the kitchen table, so it mercilessly staring at me. And yes, I very well might have put all my empty tea pouches around Dean and labeled it as “the pit” with a handy dandy sticky note! Tehehe..:D

Okay, okay..this tea… yeah, it reminds me of Sammy Winchester before becoming soulless…. Intelligently melding together the notes of vanilla, coconut, and almond while being sweet and innocent. This tea is the type of tea that you will want to cuddle around the fireplace with on a blizzardy day and discuss the means of reducing antibiotic resistance in superbugs such as MRSA (What?…doesn’t everyone spend their free time pondering things like that?). It tastes like a Christmas cookie in a cup causing relaxation while slowly soothing away the craving to eat the apple pie fresh out of the oven. So if you can’t get your hands on a Samulet for Christmas, this tea might make a lovely, Christmas-y substitute.

Between this tea and Almond Cookie by Georgia Tea Company, they really have their desserty teas down. Thank you so much Ost for allowing me to try this fantastic tea!

This sample came from albertocanfly (I think). I’m not sure about the choice of a green tea base for this one, but I’m always up for trying anything almond or cookie-flavored. Dry, it’s a mixture of somewhat broken dark green leaves and pieces of what looks like almond? It smells quite sweet and reminds me of frosting!

Steeped, it still smells sort of vaguely sweet and dessert-ish, and it still makes me think of buttercream frosting. I can smell a bit of grassiness from the base tea. Honestly, it kind of tastes just like it smells. It’s sort of vaguely sweet and buttery with a vanilla note and perhaps a touch of almond. I don’t think it melds very well with the green base, which is definitely not high quality and mostly tastes grassy and like dried leaves. It also has a strange, almost waxy texture that I don’t love. Not for me!

Apparently it’s amaretto that I am tasting. :O Don’t really know what that is to be honest, but if I were to describe it in other words, I’d just say that this tea tastes a lot like cherry and berries. Not really sure how else to describe it.
It’s interesting though.
Definitely taste the woody rooibos, but it’s not overpowering in this cup, which is good. Anyway, this one is interesting. Not sure what to think.
Thanks Albertocanfly for broadening my tea horizons!

Apparently I’m the first one to review this tea! I got this one as a sample with my last Georgia Tea Company order. Figured I’d try it since I do like some fruity teas once in a while.
The leaves looked a whole lot like Teavana’s Youthberry tea, which made it more appealing to me, since that is one of Teavana’s better teas.
This one definitely tastes like Papaya and apple…Well, mostly apple actually. xD
Which I’m not a fan of at all! Apple teas and me DON’T mix! Just like orange teas and me DON’T mix. Just…no.
And I had had more expectations for this one! It smelled really good, and not like apples at all. So yeah….
Honestly, you guys….As much as it’s kinda “taboo” to like Teavana here, they really do make some of the best fruity teas. I have tried lots of other fruity teas from other tea places, but Teavana really does well with some of their fruity teas. Think Lupicia and Teavana make the best fruity teas. Least that I’ve discovered so far. That’s all….you guys can shoot me now xD

Flavors: Apple, Fruity

sundaysipping

I really enjoyed Youthberry and my fiance is currently obsessed with Blackberry Mojito. I think you have to look for them, but they do have some solid fruity blends that are very enjoyable. :-)

boychik

You are brave :D

TeaBrat

I’m not opposed to Teavana but I tried a few of their blends and wasn’t that impressed with what I got for the $$

Anlina

Teavana is very hit or miss for me, but when they get it right, they really get it right. I am seriously in love with Dragonfruit Devotion and Six Summits Oolong.

albertocanfly

Apple and papaya sounds good!! :P I didn’t know that apple and orange fell in the same category with you! :O This should be on your “Notes I hate” list so I can better determine things to send you!:P teheh.

Ost

It should be in my notes! XD Thanks for the reminder, Albertocanfly! XD And guess what tea I’m sending your way now hahah

What a fun tea. I always enjoy teas that are visually interesting, as well , as interesting tasting. Cute little snowflakes, pieces of fruit and a rooibos base. Very tasty brew. Not as much as a nut flavor as I thought there would be from the name, Nutcracker. But I really enjoyed it and it is beginning to make me feel like fall/winter is coming even though it’s not apparent yet. It’s just the beginning of October but I enjoy fall so I’m happy.

Thank you Albertocanfly! This is one of the yummiest cookie blends! I love the almond and vanilla aroma. It is just soooo relaxing. This is one I really wish I had in my cupboard rather than just a sample. The green tea is mild so it tastes almost like a herbal, to me. But that is not a bad thing.

Oh this smells intensely orange.

The taste is orange, but not in that tangy citrus kind of way. Very mellow and woody, which admittedly is not my preference for rooibos teas. I bit of sugar helps it, but meh. I’m not really feeling this cup hot.

Cooled some of the citrus tang develops and it’s better, but still not really grabbing me too much.

Heard that this one tastes a lot like their other tea Snowflake which I’m MADLY in love with. xD But this one is a lot softer. Not nearly as good as Snowflake though.
This one is creamy and light.
Lots of almond and vanilla flavor. Which is pretty good, but not as good as the other tea I’ve had from them.
I almost actually bought this one, but I’m so glad I didn’t and just got Snowflake instead. But it’s pretty good still. Just not something I’d purchase.
Thank you, Albertocanfly for this sample!! ^^

This one tasted much better to me with 2 tsp of tea :D So glad you got to try a tea you were curious about!^.^

Ost

Oo I’ll try that with the rest of the tea, thanks for the tip! And thanks again! Excited to try the others too!

albertocanfly

Good plan! I hope it turns out better for you! :]
Eeep!^.^ I’m so glad!!

I will let you know!! :D :D

Brewed with filtered water at the perfect temperature, this is absolute heaven. With plain tap water, it’s damn good. Either way, it smells so amazing, I just have to sniff it constantly while sipping.

Loose in a pot or in a basket are both great. With small bits of coconut flake and almond, the water should be almost-boiling to get the flavor from both and the time should be increased. The downside to this is the balance between brewing the black tea for it’s best flavor and coddling it while trying to get all the coconut and almond flavor out. The 97/100 rating is for having to balance the temperature and steeping time together. Luckily, I had the seller make a pot in the tea room and got the perfect advice for brewing this; Heat filtered/bottled water to boiling, take the kettle off, let the boil subside, pour water over loose tea in pot with plenty of circulation (either in a large basket or free,) and let steep for at least 3 minutes. If the tea’s going to sit and cool, more time is fine. If the tea’s going to be kept warming, less heat to brew is best.

This tea doesn’t seem to be very popular among the flavored teas here, but….man…it defininitely should! I have wanted to try this one so badly, but waited till a sale to order. Now that they have a 30% off sale on their site, I took my opportunity.
This seemed like a desert tea, since it has coconut and almond in it. I had hoped it would be sweet enough to not make me consider adding sugar. Basically I just had really high hopes for this one…
And you know what? My hopes were proven right!!
Coconut. Vanilla. Almond.
It’s all there! It’s all I hoped and more! Delicious tea!
If you like dessert teas, this one is definitely worth trying at least!
It’s delicious! And tempting not to go and buy more while the sale is still end…but I ordered from Verdant today…so I probably shouldn’t make any more purchases for a while. xD

Flavors: Almond, Coconut, Sweet, Vanilla

Sounds delicious!

Ost

It is! They have a pretty good sale right now if you’re that interested :P

love dessert teas…thanks for the recommendation!

Thanks, Ost, I will definitely check out that sale!

This is a light genmaicha, but a nice one. There is a creaminess to the tea and clear grassy flavor with a hint of something vegetal. The rice flavor is present throughout the sip, but, as I mentioned before, it’s a light flavor. I don’t mind this since it gives the green tea, which is very nice, a chance to shine.

Another sipdown. I’m glad I gave this one a try!

From the Round 3 Here’s Hoping TTB

Before bed tea. This has a definite caramel flavor, and the rooibos isn’t all that detectable (a plus in my book). With some sugar and milk I think this would be a real treat but I don’t like to doctor my bedtime teas too much. This is the second rooibos blend form Georgia Tea Company that gets a thumbs up from me. I don’t see myself ordering this one, but the next time I’m shopping for herbals I’ll stop by GTC to see what other caffeine free goodies they’re offering.

Well, today has been less than wonderful. We were supposed to have our annual gingerbread house building today, but my daughter had a health scare, so we ended up in the ER instead. We’re home now, and she’s resting, but oy… I am exhausted.

I was really grateful to come home and put the kettle on for this tisane. I needed comfort, and I needed super yummy. This delivered. I really like the blueberry flavor here. It’s sweet but doesn’t taste fake or candy like.

Now I’m going to bed. Tomorrow will be better.

Shae

What a rough day! I’m glad you were able to come home to a bit of comfort. Here’s hoping tomorrow’s better for you.

Fjellrev

Aww, I’m glad she is ok.

yyz

I feel for you. I’m glad she is at home and everything seems to of turned out OK.

Veronica

Thank you!
