I constantly missed out on this tea from going to the store at definitely the wrong times – took me a few trips to actually get my hands on it! When I finally did, it was well worth the wait. I am not a big fan of super strong and spicy chai teas, and this was the perfect substitute. It is a light chai, with an almost creamy taste, with a hint of pumpkin and spice. Definitely reminded me of thanksgiving. I’m just trying to make my little 50g to last until the next time it hits stores in the fall! Very delicious and a warm pick-me-up.
For some strange reason, I had avoided buying/trying this tea for awhile now. At a recent family gathering, my cousin asked me what kind of tea I would like to have, while very enticingly shaking this can of read my lips under my nose. So she made it for me, and I was blown away. It was delicious for a chilly afternoon, with just the right amount of peppermint without making it seem a peppermint tea, and just the right amount of chocolate without seeming like “hot chocolate”. This is a great tea!
I very much enjoy this tea! I generally go for black tea over others (but my cupboard is bursting forth with all kinds) but if I have a choice, I generally grab my can of cream of earl grey over my many green teas. I bought this tea because the smell instantly won me over – and when I steeped it, I couldn’t believe how delicious it was. It had no significant aftertaste, though I fel that my breath was freshened, and it was sweet without being bitter. Very delicious with milk and sugar, or sugar alone. I will be re-buying this one, thats for sure!
Ok, now that I know what to expect from this tea, it really is quite lovely! It’s one of the few flower teas that don’t put me off so I find myself craving it often.
Wow, I really am in love. Funny, for someone who doesn’t really like lemon in food, I have quite a few lemon tea faves!
The second steep is a bit mellower, I wish I could go for a third but I need to hydrate for the bbq I’m attending later. Can’t let that beer get me down! ;P
If you’re attending the Sanremo Bakery BBQ at the end of my street, I will die laughing. Just saying. ;)
lol no this one is in Oakville. But I’m going to Buddies afterwards, maybe. You should come! :)
(a club in TO)
Interesting. I’m not sure about this one yet… I can see it becoming a fave but like many of my favourites I really need to be in just the right mood to inspire my citron craving. There is a potent flowery aroma and flavour as well, which usually puts me off. Maybe I am in a more tolerant mood today haha.
The first steep was too thick, and a touch bitter. I think there were too many leaves, so of course next time I will try less. It’s hard to judge because the flowers in this come up higher than the edge of my spoon, and my mug is extra large so I always add some extra…
Anyhow, I can REALLY taste the lemon in the first steep, but not as much in the second. It reminds me of the Orange Oolong I reviewed not long ago, only lemony. More like the rind than the juice, which I am quite disappointed about, I was so looking forward to some tart lemon zing but it tastes more sweet when balanced out by the Jasmine.
Mmmmm, I’m enjoying this second cup much more than the first! I’m not one to drink the same tea allll day long but I may actually be tempted here :)
One of the many reviews I read say that I should use honey or agave. There is much experimentation to be done with this one…
I’m not sure how to qualify this, but I have a super satisfied feeling after having had this tea. The taste is pretty good but the wave of pure bliss that follows is what makes me swoon over it. I find very few teas that do this for me. Yay!!
(Fruitloops!! I just read a review that compares this tea to fruitloops. That is exactly what it tastes like!)
Preparation
Very very tasty. A bit of a lighter tea, with a muted but definitely noticeable cinnamon flavor. I like the rooibos and rose notes as well. best way to drink this one is straight up. It does well with long steepings (i.e. forgetfulness) and multiples as well. Though I don’t think I would try for more than three.
Another from the Easter Tea Trail coldbrewed overnight and I am pleasantly surprised! I do get hints of chocolate raspberry, but I also still get banana. It’s weird. I love raspberry, but I don’t like chocolate, so this is just an okay brew for me. I do like it a lot more iced than I do cold, but I still think the rest of what I have of this tea will be winging to Nova Scotia for a friend who absolutely loves it.
Yay for Day 4! And I finally tasted the raspberry! I greatly enjoyed my cup of this this morning :D
Preparation
Were it not for this tea, I’m fairly certain I would have fallen asleep at work today. True facts. However, due to having a co-admin to deal with two doctors in office instead of the usual one doctor and one admin (myself), I was able to finish my whole 1-L thermos today. Yay!
This one is very good, but we’re running low and I’m not sure if I want to restock or not. Hmmmm.
Edited to add: You know, I don’t think I will restock. All day, I sipped this, but I can’t really remember the taste, and while several times I said “Mmmm caffeine,” I never once went “Mmmmm, this is such a tasty tea.” Life is too short to waste on so-so tea ;)
Preparation
Gah, this morning. So my wife and I couldn’t fall asleep until 2:30 am or so after we were stood up at Waffle House last night. I woke up this morning and glanced at the digital clock, which read 9:49, and leapt out of bed in a panic. I had a phone interview with DavidsTea at 10…yikes! So I raced to my Dad’s office and set up, pulling up my resume, finding a phone, etc. And then I glanced at my computer’s clock. 6:43. groan I tried to stay up, but around 7:30 I tumbled back into bed to get another hour of sleep. When I woke again, I made a cup of this to soothe my nerves and wake me up, and it worked beautifully. I love the flavor of this tea, the chocolate and the almonds make it wonderfully creamy, and while I don’t get raspberry, I do get banana like so many others. Which is just fine by me, seeing as how I love raspberries, but cannot stand chocolate with them.
I don’t want to jinx anything, but I feel like the interview went really, really well. I’ll know by Friday…cross your fingers, toes, and eyes for me, Steepsterites!
Preparation
Will do, that is SUPER exciting!! I also hate when I read the clock wrong….worse when read wrong on a day off/weekend!!!
Oh gosh yes. And, I mean, the adrenaline from the pure panic I felt when I glanced at the clock had me jittery for a while lol.
Yay! I hope it goes your way…I definitely wouldn’t mind working there, though I think my paycheque would be devoted largely to tea.
Ooh, good luck! I’ve been thinking about applying to one of the positions. It’s hard: I like my current job, but I also like free tea!
Ok it’s been a long time since this was posted..but I gotta know! Did you get the job?? I hope so! I would love to work there and it would sure cut the ole tea bill down lol. But I would drink my self stupid there..
I started off my day with this after a night of very little sleep. I desperately needed a pick me up as today was the Pride parade. It wouldn’t do for me to be utterly exhausted! It was just what I needed, I iced it with my new plastic ice cubes and enjoyed it on the ride into town.
Preparation
I made this one for our 5 hour drive to Etobicoke on Saturday morning. I hadn’t thought to try it iced but that is a good idea. Maybe before ball this afternoon.
Yikes. Well, I hope you had fun in our neck of the woods and enjoyed your trip to our local DT! We love the shop in Sherway Gardens, the girls are always so nice!
We did enjoy our trip. But the mall was a zoo. The store was so packed there was barely time to get my mug refilled. But I don’t mind that when you see 4 people working hard to keep everyone happy. They were very nice to us. The driving however was crazy. I needed to tea to calm down after the time on the 401 and 427. My hand hurt from gripping the steering wheel so tight. LOL
