I’ve been enjoying this tea iced recently. It’s so flavourful, without being too heavy on the rooibos or on the fruit. It’s definitely one of my favourites to have iced!

I was definitely expecting more lavender flavour in this mix. The fruitiness is delightfully pleasant, but it won’t be my go-to caffeine free tea. Good for a rooibos, quite sweet but I’m not getting the floral notes I wanted. And it doesn’t make me feel like I’m in France, which is what the girl at the store told me would happen.

As I’m smelling the dry leaves i feel like whacking the bag on the table! this smells exactly like a terry’s chocolate orange!

steeped it looks like liquid chocolate, smells orange and chocolate but i smell the earthyness of the pu’erh as well.

time to taste: mmmm chocolate oranges. Maybe i did something wrong cause the pu’erh really hits you at the end there mine is very strong. still i love this! great job david’s tea another hit!

How long did you steep it? I find if you steep it around 2-3 minutes it’s still a strong flavour but less “earthy” (until the second steep of course!)

Then again if you like that hit of puerh then you did nothing wrong at all! :D

this is definitely my favorite of the christmas teas, it’s bringing out memories of me amd my family hanging around playing cards munching on pannetone and mandarins.

This smells more Pannetone than fruit cake to me, but maybe that’s because being Italian i eat pannetone at christmas and not fruit cake.

Once steeped it smells citrus all the way and is a pretty lemon color.

This tastes really good, Pannetone all the way lol citrus and sweet i really like this! giving this a high rating.

The colour of the tea is really dark. My first sip was a little taken back. I taste a lot of smokiness in this tea…almost like Lapsang Souchong. Nothing on the label mentions smokiness so I was caught by surprise. The smell from the bag didn’t indicate any of that either.

drank Coffee Pu'erh by DAVIDsTEA

I am not a coffee fan. Keep that in mind. The colour of this tea came out to a really dark colour, the same as coffee (obviously). I have tried coffee before, so I know what to expect. This tea gave a light version of coffee without the bitterness. I am not a fan unfortunately, but I gave it to my boyfriend who loves coffee, so he might like it :)

So I just received my most recent David’sTea order and am in tea heaven!!! (wallet please forgive me because I’m also already planning my next tea order). This order consisted of my 24 Days of Tea advent calendar (which I started tonight as I will finish it right before leaving for my christmas holidays), some pumpkin chai, read my lips, Goji pop, and the Organic Cream of Earl Grey teas.

First up on my sampling tonight is a nice cup of organic Cream of Earl Grey… As mentioned in my profile I grew up on the old British standbys of teas (with gasp milk in it). So my first impression of this tea? Man I can smell the Vanilla in it, and it reminds me of some of my essential scents I have, or scented candles… very subtle though.

So I brewed this cup-o-tea as per David’s recommendations, steeping for the minimum time as I find over-steeped black teas don’t agree with me. Still smelling alright ;)

Nows where I chicken out a bit…. I’ve never been able to handle the taste of a strong tea plain (my British ancestors are rolling over in their graves) and have always gasp had to add a bit of milk gasp to it (I’m the same with my coffees too). So I add a bit of milk to the tea, walk over to my computer, and sit down to taste it.

WOW!!! As I come in for my first sip, I get the scent of the creamy vanilla – smells delish! I take a sip… I take a bigger sip (no I don’t gulp it, no need for those ancestors to get out of their graves and come after me and all)… Did I mention WOW?!?!? I really like the taste of this one (even if I did doctor it with a splash of skim milk). The vanilla is very subtle but WOW. Definitely can’t wait to try this one with a completely clean palate (not after a sweet dessert) to see if I still get the same WOW factor, and may even get my courage up to try it without the milk ;)

Right now, pleased I got 100g of this one!

I really like this one. I made it hot and am not finding it very tart at all. The words ‘just right’ come to mind with this one. The other good news is I find that I don’t even taste the hibiscus, just the pomegranate! As we all know hibiscus can often overpower the tea, but this one isn’t doing that. This is a nice refreshing cup…relaxing me while I wait on the butter for the cookie dough to thaw a little more. sigh

INTENSE Is how I would describe this golden brew. and refreshing!! but certainly not oolongy. Not even on the third steep! At that point, I got bored of searching for the “tea” in my cup. Oh and when it cooled, the minty lemon somehow started tasting like ginger. Ick! which was worse since it was unexpected :/
I’m getting over that cold still, and despite that I still find this overpowering-again, on the third steep!
If this were billed as an herbal tea, I might go for it… but the darn stuff is caffeinated xSighsx
Maybe if they dial down the pep on this one, I could learn to love it…
Oh and besides all of that, they used a “green”-er oolong than I prefer, which is usually kinda meh in my books.

I definitely catch the licorice and cinnamon in this… which I thought was unusual for a mint tea. But I didn’t get the vanilla much at all.

I’m a huge mint fan. Spearmint, peppermint, wintermint, whatever. I love it. Not so convinced I love this tea. It steeped to a dark color almost like coffee. It smelled almost… heady, but with an after-taste of mint. I can attest that when I first opened the tin, it totally hit me as “smelling like Christmas”. Once brewed, I didn’t mind it, and I finished my mug, but it didn’t leave me with the refreshing sensation of my usual favorite mint teas. And while I typically love cinnamon too, I’m not so sure I like the combination of cinnamon with mint. I can’t say I’ll buy this tea. I have too many other favorite mint teas!

This is my day #3 of the David’s Tea “24 Days of Tea” advent calendar.

I bought this one because it sounded good when I was looking through the mini tins up for grabs. (They are super cute) I apparently forgot it had pu’erh and black tea in it. I wasn’t really planning on sleep tonight at it is. Too much baking to do that we haven’t started yet. So no worries about the caffeine levels. On to the tea.All I can smell is the cinnamon. Reminds me of Hot Cinnamon from Harney and Sons. But the taste is far from it. I really like this one. It is very rich in flavor and the cinnamon is hardly there, I get a little of the orange flavor on the end but the taste is almost malty. Which I love. My nose is still a little stuffed so I do plan to try again when everything is clear (and up the rating too). So far so good.

I love everything sweet and creamy, so the natural sweetness and pleasant creaminess of this tea are perfect in my mind. Plus, 50 grams of it stuffs the bag full. I’ve gotten at least 10 pots out of the bag, and I still have some left.

If you don’t like chamomile, you won’t like this. It’s a pretty strong flavor in there.

drank Carrot Cake by DAVIDsTEA

Thanks to Jenn for sending me a sample of this, especially since I’d been thinking about buying it.

When I first opened the bag I got a whiff of something similar to the smell of paint drying. Not really a good sign.

I brewed this in an infuser basket for about 3 minutes with 180 F water. It is vaguely carrot-y and fruit-y but nothing very cake like is leaping out at me. I added some Vanilla soymilk and this has made it more like a dessert tea. Still the weird smell which is putting me off a bit.

This stuff is okay but I’m not totally crazy about it…

Glad I read this! I was going to order a tin of it. Ordering the smaller size instead… First order from Davids, so I’m still looking around.

TeaBrat

you should read the other reviews on it. A few people totally hated it…

Plunkybug

I like it for what it is, and not what it is trying to be. If it wasn’t called Carrot Cake, giving me the metal vision of what it should taste like, it would be a fine tea. I probably will buy a tin of it. Maybe just a bag. I do get in the mood for this, and I do like it with some sort of milk product, dairy or otherwise.

Ninavampi

Hmmm… Read through the reviews. Sticking to the smaller size to begin with. : )
