really, really nice, fresh, thought-cleaning tea. all the better, suddenly deeper, if you inadvertently leave the bag in.

A nice, warm clovey Chai that doesn’t even require milk. It’s only got 4 or 5 ingredients, so it’s simpler than other Chai mixes (notably, it’s missing cardamom). Worth checking out.

I found Clipper tea when I was at Marshalls and was drawn to the design and the fact they’re organic and fair-trade. I bought the White Tea, Chai, Chamomile and later Mixed Berry and Green Tea. Chamomile and White are my favorites. They’re light and purifying and perfect with a teaspoon of honey.

Satisfying tea for me when i urge for something sweet n stimulating. The taste seems a bit perfumey and blendy though. Good for the money

Its flavour seems quite artificial to me. Not a fresh flavour -dull dusty and blah, lol. Not a fan at all.
It says 5% “natural orange flavour” -wth is natural flavour, could someone explain that to me please?

drank Earl Grey by Clipper

After drinking so many wonderful sweet tea’s I felt that this morning I wanted something bog standard (for me anyway). This tea is in my tea caddy in the kitchen that my husband occasionally dibs into when he fancies a cup, we are not one for plain black (although I do have plenty of it on my tea cupboard).

This is still as lovely as I remember, sweet and fragrant with strength on the black tea itself. A drop of milk and if I’m feeling particularly sweet I also have half a spoon of sugar. Destination yum yum.

Earl grey tea is the perfect drink for the morning with it’s combination of strong black tea and citrus sweet bergamot.
I find that one way to tell a good Earl Grey tea apart from a not so good Earl Grey tea is the smell of the bag or loose tea before it’s actually brewed. Good tea’s (such as this one) will have a strong yet fresh smell with notable bergamot fragrance which is enhanced once brewed and creates a perfect blend.

Smell (once brewed): Sweet and tangy (almost like orange which is the bergamot).
Colour: Dark brown (I don’t have milk)

Taste: With our smell test done that leaves the taste and waiting an average of 3-4 minutes for this beauty to brew is well worth the wait. The black tea gives your body charge while the bergamot awakens your senses. Each mouthful is naturally sweet with strong earthy tones from the black tea and it leaves a beautiful and somewhat perfumey after taste.

Due to it’s natural sweetness it’s perfect for those of us on a diet as it helps keep our calories to a minimum. I also love that this tea is yummy with or without milk so you can either go for strength or smoothness.

If you have the patience, try brewing it like I did in my cold brew Teas 4 method. I steeped for 10.5 hours overnight, but you could probably get away with 7-8 hours. I ised 4 teabags of Twinings EG, which I believe are 2g each. My loose tea tea guesstimation would be 1 level to slightly heaping TBSP. My glass press I used is roughly 20 Oz.

KittyLovesTea

Sounds wonderful _ I will give this a try when I get some space in my fridge.

ScottTeaMan

Is your version bagged or loose??

KittyLovesTea

I have the bagged version and quite a lot of it.

ScottTeaMan

I just bought quite a bit of Twinings EG, otherwise I’d consider it. I found it on Amazon, but it is temp sold out. It is almost double what I paid for the Twinings. I’m not sure the Twinings has natural bergamot, but sinnce the Clipper EG doesit’s probably worth the price. :))

KittyLovesTea

Wow I just checked Clippers shop to see how much international shipping is….it costs a minimum of £40 which is at least $70! It is a very nice tea and worth the try. Twinings used to be my usual Earl Grey supplier but Clipper is much more fragrant and natural, much nicer. Not sure how much it is on Amazon but maybe you could treat yourself.

ScottTeaMan

It’s $20 for 120 teabags [12.84 pounds], plus in US it’s eligible for free shipping on orders over $25. it’s really a fair price.

After Twinings started to, ahem, experiment, I went in search of a new bagged Earl Grey. This is by far the best I’ve found so far.

Colour: Golden Brown.
Smell: Fresh lemongrass with an earthy under tone (probably from the Yerba Mate).

My first sip was lip puckering lemony which gives you a bitter, sweet and sour explosion all at once. For me it’s the sort of thing that would help to awaken my senses in the morning but I suppose it would be great for those who adore super strong lemon tea at any time of the day.

The Yerba Mate adds depth and keeps it together nicely, without it I would imagine this tea would be like sucking a fresh lemon. It’s so lemony it reminds me of lemon drop sweets :)

drank Love Me Truly by Clipper
1379 tasting notes

A lot of non stop work today means I need a pick me up with a chai and a little love so that leads me to chose this ‘Love Me Truly’ chai.

Colour: Golden yellow.
Smell: Spicy cinnamon, zesty cardamom and feisty ginger.

Taste: After my first few sips I felt a warmth slip down my throat that tasted of ginger, clove and a hint of cinnamon. It’s a nice strength as it’s not overpoweringly strong and remains light yet with warming, spicy and zesty flavours coming together as one to make it flavoursome. I am not a huge fan of chai tea’s so I am thankful that this remains light but if you do like stronger chai’s then I would suggest leaving the tea bag in for 5-10 minutes instead of the recommended 3-5 minutes.

(NOTE) Once you have finished half a cup you can pick up the cardamom flavour and the infusion seems to get a little stronger.

drank After Dinner Mints by Clipper
1379 tasting notes

I tried this tea 45 minutes after my dinner to freshen my breath and see if this tea lives up to it’s name.

Colour: Brown with a golden glow.
Smell: Super minty.

Taste: This tea is strong and refreshingly minty and is definitely not for those that like subtle flavours. It’s certainly strong enough to freshen the breath after any meal and is also said to help aid digestion. The two mints combined (spearmint and peppermint) leave a full on cool minty menthol tango on the tongue that slips down easily.

If you love mint as much as I do then this tea is for you. :)

Colour: Golden brown.
Smell: Lavender and lemon.

Taste: This has a minty, floral flavour which is tasty yet fairly subtle and airy. After the first taste of mint you get a floral lavender and then zesty lemon flavours that come out to play. The smell reminds me of lavender and herbal pillows that you can buy to aid your sleep only in this case you have a lovely drink instead.

Lavender can taste a little bitter at times and it is certainly a refined flavour but boy does it make you sleepy. Half way down this mug and I am yawning inconsolably, so while this isn’t the best tasting tea available it works well for making you sleepy and relaxed.

drank Cloud Nine by Clipper

Colour: Dark gold.
Smell: Sweet and crisp apple with lemon and floral undertones.

Taste: Fresh and natural apple with a hint of sweet pineapple also with light lemon and floral tones. The more you drink the stronger the apple and fruit flavours become, overall this is a nice mellow fruity blend. Everything blends well together so you don’t have any bitter or harsh tastes like some other fruit teas have. You also get an added flavour once you have passed your cups half way point, mystical liquorice root. Now I am not such a fun of liquorice in tea as they can usually become over powering in flavour but this blends in nicely in the background.

Colour: Dark honey.
Smell: Freshly citrus.

Taste: First few sips reveal a mellow mixture of flavours. I can taste the sharp sweetness of the lemongrass, the deep menthol of the eucalyptus and the earthy freshness of the nettle. Overall this creates a beautifully fragrant and relaxing experience that strengthens with each sip.

This truly is a lovely and well balanced blend that has left me feeling relaxed and at ease.

I have a busy day ahead of me and this raspberry leaf tea sounded very relaxing and fruity to drink this morning. I do like most of the Clipper range and do prefer their loose leaf tea but their bagged tea (such as this one) is just as wonderful (usually).

It says on the back of the box to steep for 3-5 minutes with boiling water which is precisely what I have done.

Colour is very raspberry dark red, almost like a cordial pop.
Smell is beautifully fresh and fruity and strong.

This tea is just divine, fruity and strong yet with a mellow refreshing taste. It has everything I would look for in a fruit tea and each sip gives you the same experience as the first. You can certainly taste the raspberry and you can also taste the leaf, it is slightly bitter and is mostly in the after taste.

This does not have that stale, dusty taste that some bagged tea’s have and pre bagged is so easy to transport making this perfect for sharing with friends. Whenever I visit my friends and family I am forever taking my own tea bags down to visit and my offers of a cup of tea to mostly be turned down (as to them I drink strange tea). But this is the sort of tea that everyone can enjoy including children. It just has that sort of fruit juicy taste to it.

I am so delighted by this tea that it has gone straight into my cupboard to be used more often. Perfect for summer, just to kick back in the sun with a cup of this. Bliss.
