This was pressed in 2018 by Shouyixuan factory. The wet tea leaves smell a lot like a typical white tea – floral.
The first steeps are floral and citrusy – the citrus reminds me of sweetened lemon shavings used in cakes, or lemon syrup.
The tea starts to mellow out into the later steeps, floral flavor gets replaced by herbal notes, the tea starts to leave a very slight minty aftertaste.
As far as steeping time goes, this tea is pretty forgiving. Also, it lasted way longer than expected, I managed to get 11 steeps out of this. For the price, this is pretty good .
If I had to use one word to describe this tea, it would be “refreshing”.

Solid daily drinker Shui Xian I picked up on Aliexpress for a low price. 50g came in a red tin. The dry leaf has a roasty autumn leaf/mineral aroma. After a rinse, I could only really smell the charred roast, which worried me a little bit. Thankfully, the roast isn’t quite as dominating in the flavor of the tea.

The flavors are pretty much as expected. Roasty, sweet, a bit mineral. I also get a little bit of dark fruit in the early steeps, maybe dates. The texture is nice and silky smooth, sometimes getting almost creamy. If I oversteep it, which happens more often than usual with this tea, as the big leaves can clog up my teapot’s strainer, I sometimes notice a slightly sour roastiness.

This one is good for when you want a wuyi tea without much hassle or the need to pay great attention to it. It tastes good, but not great. I like it as a morning tea, almost a replacement to a morning cup of coffee. It’s not particularly long lasting. I usually only get around 7 or 8 real infusions from it.

Another one from dexter (there will be a few more if i get time to sit with the teas today). This one has a sweeter smell than the first, and it’swas a little more grassy like. While the initial sips were sweet, later sips had that slight bitterness that i sometimes find with raw puerh. Overall, not a bad experience but not one i need to repeat. Thanks dex!

I liked the Dragon Tea House cake and the Streetshop88 loose better than the two you tried today. DTH did really well with boiling flash steeps.
The best is still the one OMGsrsly got in Vancouver. :)
