Another one i pulled out to enjoy. Managed to remember to brew this at a lower temperature to bring out the berries and tree bits more :) This is one of my oldest teas in my cupboard but i have been hoarding it because it’s a really interesting and unique blend imo. Sadly, the time has come to just start drinking it!

fantastic “older” tea to kick off my morning today after playing with puppy in the park. Now we’ve got delicious breakfast and a wack of painting and other such things to do…only a few more weeks to try and get the house finished :)

pulled this one out to enjoy yesterday as well. I’ve been reluctant to start the tin of this that i have for no particular reason. i ADORE the tins from bellocq and i was so happy to splurge on a tin of this as part of my wedding present from dex heh. Still as delicious as ever. Glad i still have lots of this to carry me through winter.

Evol Ving Ness

See, now every time you drink this tea, you can remind yourself that you are happy that you married this man. I am sure you do this on other occasions too. But, yay, for delicious tea in beautiful tins.

Arby

I love the name of this blend!

I love this tea. Something about it just makes me happy. Today, it’s a little drying in my mouth, but i don’t mind because i cane taste the forest in this cup.

ashmanra

I’ve been curious about this one. I have had three or four Bellocq teas and have been trying to pick another to try. Maybe this is the one.

Sil

there are a couple i ADORE from there…

finished up the last of this one from the bag that i had, now i just have another 86grams to go in the tin that i treated myself too when i placed this order. Still really enjoying this one, though it’s more a winter tea for me than spring.summer. heh

drpastry

This one has been at the top of my wishlist for nearly a year. Happy to see someone sipping it! Have a favorite Bellocq I should try when I order? I purchased a sampler several years back in a little beach town shop which served as my Exodus into the Land of Tea but have only purchased gifts from them since. Next time I indulge an order, it’s back to Bellocq.

Sil

There are a few others i love… no 61. keemu in particular. That being said i have a bunch in my cupboard that i haven’t tried yet because im using them so hold off on purchases. when i get a hankering for new teas, i pick one to open and start haha

Started the morning out with this one. Having a bit of a rough day and wanted some delicious cups of tea today. I still need a couple sipdowns before the end of the weekend, but for the next couple of days i may just focus on drinking up teas with larger quantities and see if i can get the weight down :)

mrs.stenhouse12

This tea sounds so good! I put it on my wishlist :D

Sil

omgsrsly and i love it, dexter is less of a fan haha. It’s not as piney/woodsy as i want it to be but i love it :)

Sil

oh and given the crappy cad $ we can always do a mini swap sometimes if you like.

mrs.stenhouse12

@Sil I will keep that in mind! I love woodsy teas, I’m on a woodsy kick overall right now regarding tea and perfumes haha

Dexter

I don’t mind the woodiness of this tea – nor the juniper berries – it’s the pine that I’m not a huge fan of – HOWEVER if you like that style of tea – you should like this one – it’s nice and balanced. :))

tigress_al

Hope the rest of your day is better than this morning !

Sil

thanks tigress! it’s going… heh

Pulled this one out to start my day. I wanted something delicious as we managed to sleep in today. I’ve got some errands to run and no energy to do so…then it’s board games tonight and we start sitting rental dog for a couple days tomorrow as well. I like that this one has a lovely base to complement the other things going on in this brew. it always reminds me of being outside. so good.

another quick note. Gotta love bellocq’s customer service. Mistake with my order that went to the us that they fixed immediately and sent directly to me so i didn’t have to make arrangements to try and get it from the us given the mix up. Love this tea and am so happy with my first order from this company.

OMGsrsly

YAY THIS TEA! So good. I should finish my sample tonight. Really savour it. :D

Sil

i’ll surprise you with more. i mean..oh gee wouldn’t that be awesome if i had extra to share..ahem

OMGsrsly

Hmm. I would greatly appreciate the surprise, O tea fren.

another sipdown from today (141). I’m pretty much going to have my work cut out for me in terms of getting my cupboard under control this month, but i’m ok with that.

Because this is such an interesting tea, the rest is off to terri to try out. I quite like it, though i’m not sure about a re-order. Either way it’s been great to try these blends from bellocq as i have a better sense of what i might like from them given their smaller quantities are 3oz. Thanks again fuzzyP!

Terri HarpLady

Yay, that sounds like a really interesting blend!

OMGsrsly

I agree with Terri – it sounds so interesting!

So first off, this is one of the most unique teas that i’ve had the pleasure of opening up. FuzzyPeachkin sent some of this my way and i’m glad she did. First and foremost there are berries in here and ceder needles, which makes for an aroma reminiscent of hiking through the rockies as a kid.

Brewed as a black, this tea is very smooth and mellow with a slightly sweet taste hidden in among the cedar. I don’t get any smokiness from this like FuzzyP does – this is just a mellow brew that is much like drinking something that tastes the way cedar smells…but in a delicious way. I’m looking forward to drinking more of this.

Thank you FuzzyP for this unique tea :)

Very intrigued!

VERY cool….. i’ll have to look into this.

Sil

It’s neat…just that 3oz is a lot…:(

Another tea gone from my cupboard. Some days, i love working from home :) While i enjoyed this one quite a bit – steeping it according to their instructions was too strong for me. I also vastly prefer this one in a mug versus my travel mugs, so that makes this one a little less optimal for what i like my teas to be :)

Terri HarpLady

I love working from home! Today I’m finally updating my website, which has required me to learn a new web design program, since the one I was using (iWeb) is way outdate. Hopefully by the end of the day, I’ll be done, at least for now!

I think your box is overflowing, I need to find time to go to the post office! And then start a new box ;)

Sil

terri – at least i’ve got room for my cupboard to expand a little – i’m about 2 months ahead of my weight goal!

Terri HarpLady

Your teas are in the mail!

Sil

Nice…wonder if it’ll be there when I get back heh.

I really need to weigh my cupboard. I know i’m doing well, but i’m totally curious as to HOW well i’m doing. I’d like to order a few teas but am very conscious of increasing my cupboard count/weight.

Final Count: 84

VariaTEA

The one time I did weigh my cupboard, it was so much effort. Didn’t help that my scale was broken also. It was fun to figure things out though. Perhaps I will do it again sometime

Sil

The smaller the number of teas you have, the easier weighing gets hahaha. I just like doing it now because of all the French teas I brought home. Numbers didn’t go up much but I added 3.5kg to my cupboard.

Kristal

Interesting concept though- weighing your cupboard. I suppose that would give a much more accurate understanding about how much tea you really have.
I have mostly loose leaf teas but even having the few bagged teas I do would make the process a little more difficult, lol. Not to mention I bag up loose leaf teas for work in order to use them up. In the past I have “measured” my cupboard by seeing how many tbsp/cups I have of certain teas. Not as accurate, I suppose, but it’s quick to do and take notes on.

mmmmm trying to at least get a little closer to my sipdown goals for this year but lining up some sipdowns for August. I won’t make my goal in July, but i might be able to get back on track in august if i whittle a few more teas down heh. This one is always a great cup to enjoy in order to slow down. I don’t lov it in my travel mugs so i generally drink it when i’m home. it’s a great tea in that, if i need something a little more intense, i can brew it for 4 mins, while 3 mins gives me a good morning tea, that isn’t quite as bold.

ashmanra

I want more Bellocq…

everyone in the house is sick including the dog…except me. Working from home today to have a bit of a rest and take care of my other half and the dog. Figured i’d use it as an opportunity to drink a few teas since they were largely missing from my weekend. This really is a lovely breakfast tea, as long as you don’t over steep it. IMO the directions listing 4-6 make WAAAY too strong a cup lol

85

yep this is delicious for me at 3 mins. Recommended 5+ mins is just too strong a cup for me.

Sakura Sushi

One of my most favorite breakfast teas!

note to self – this is so much better at 3mins, not the recommended 5-7

noms. 3 mins steep makes this work for me a little better than the longer, recommended steeps UNLESS i want a bolder cup…then 4-5 works just fine.

85

this one is a little harsh this morning, i think a shorter steeps makes it better for me, versus the recommended. 3-3.5 seems to be the sweet spot. Still a good cup but i prefer it the other way.

First of my teas from this morning and it was still a winner. I am thoroughly enjoying these bellocq teas especially since my unflavoured tea stash is so low.
