Today, I am not feeling well. Today, will be a honeybush day. I started my day off with Cinnamon Roll Honeybush. It smells just like a cinnamon roll! I don’t know how Frank does it, but all of his HB blends are just fantastic. A six minute brew yielded a mild, tasty cuppa.
Preparation
Lowered the brewing time to 5 min. That was the Loooongest 5 min! The smell emitting from my cup made me look over my shoulder to see if anyone thought I was baking:)
added 1 tsp milk and 1 tsp raw sugar…OMG, I am in love with this tea. Come on Frank, move this one over to the permanent collection:)
Preparation
Relaxing and cooling down with a ice-cold glass of this iced tea. Very refreshing. Here’s my full-length review: http://sororiteasisters.com/2011/08/29/iced-tea-series-ii-tropical-fruit-series-from-52teas-part-4-lychee-flavored-black-tea/
I brewed some of this last night for today’s iced tea. It is quite yummy.
The Lychee flavor is strong without being overpowering… there is a nice balance of flavors. It is sweet with a sweet-tart kind of taste in the aftertaste. The astringency of the tea works well with the Lychee, as it seems to cut through some of the more pungent flavors of the fruit.
Makes a very pleasant iced tea.
Sipdown! I can’t believe this is my last cup of this. This tea is beautiful, tasty, and above all, one of my favorites! It has to be the most popular tea in my stash and I’ve been loving it since the day I got it. A flavored tea worth keeping around for sure!
I hope that everyone is having a nice day! I just made a cup of this and man, it is perfect! I don’t know what magic I used on this cuppa, but it turned out just right. This tea has been an excellent staple in my collection and I always look forward to a cup. It has all the right notes of maple and the thickness of the pancake. mmmmm
I am officially tired, but since I have a long day of studies ahead of me I thought I’d have a cup of this. I am still so very torn since I ruined my little tea-cup/brewer. I am looking for others but I’m almost sure that I’ll just order the same one again. I had to use a giant, bulky Teavana tea bag for this; although they are nice for a large pot of tea they aren’t very helpful in small cups. My husband wants me to order something a bit less breakable, but I’m having problems finding something with adequate straining capabilities+small oz capacity.
Now back to the tea! I really love this one; I always have! I think that this is just a total comfort tea now. I am so glad that they added this more permanently because I will soon run out if I keep drinking it! It smells like warm batter and maple; just as it should!
Not sure what you had, and trying to replace, but adequate straining + small oz. capacity sounds like (Adagio’s) IngenuiTEA. You can get it on Amazon for less ($15.50 with a smaller free ship thresehold). Use mine for testings and love it.
Lots of people have suggested that one and the Teavana one to me. :3 I’m trying to read about them today a bit. I guess I haven’t bought one of those before because I actually find them to be a bit…clunky looking? This is what I had before:

I seriously love this tea! I’m so glad that it has been added to the more permanent stock of teas. I had been hording mine! This tea is break with breakfast and I think that I will soon finish this bag so I can buy another! :p
I agree! This is my fave 52Teas blend! I’m tempted to call the day Frank made this part of the permanent collection as a holiday. :)
I agree! I’ve only met one person who didn’t like this blend. I’ll forgive her for now b/c she’s new to tea…
I’m starting to realize that my package of this tea is almost out. This is a very sad realization because out of all of the flavored teas I’ve tried this is the one that takes the cake; literally. The mouth feel on this is even perfect. I think I noticed someone mention that sometimes these blends taste even better over time as the flavor “settles.” I think that this is true and that this tea has actually gotten better from the first time I tasted it. The smell itself is enough to make my mouth water and waiting for it to cool is tortuous.
The most interesting flavor pulled off here (to me) was the butter. I think that the maple is not as prominent as I would have expected. But, there is still that thick, carb loaded awesomeness.
Serious backlog here! I am sipping on this at this very moment! So, incredibly, perfect. This was my very first purchase from 52 teas and it won’t be my last! The buttery flavor really came through on this blend. It tastes sweet enough for me to not add anything and it has so many layers of flavor! I could drink this every morning, forever! A++ flavor!
edit
I have to say that I’ve been steeping my tea a little differently and I just did this one today and its flavor is always a knock-out. I think that this is something that I should have ordered 2+ of!
Preparation
Meethinks that Frank is a huge fan of boat-drinks. And that’s okay by me because I’ve yet to be disappointed by any of his pina colada teas.
I cold steeped this one over night and I’ve been sipping it all day between other teas. I think that this black tea version has a great flavor, and I’ve gotten two pitchers out of one packet so far. I like it a lot.
Big thankyou to Jenn for sending me this sample!! You rock my tea world!!! :)
Wow, this was certainly an interesting, and entertaining experience. I accidentally oversteeped this one at 8 minutes (look, she did it again!).
I definitely taste raisin! and toast! and butter!! Go 52 Teas for hitting the target!!! It was tasty.
But… well, there is a medicinal aspect there that I’m not sure about. The second steep is better, not as overwhelming.
I suspect the “raisin” part, and the way it blends with everything else is what throws me off. shrugs
Lesson learned! I have enough left for one more cup. Maybe some milk will tamp down the medicinal impression I get? and less leaf! I never know how much to use with this ceramic mug/filter… even with my scoop. but it’s so convenient! and purty!! le sigh
I don’t know what a zaga-bologna is, but I want one.
Is it just strawberries and cream?
I want a peach zabbagooga IRL.
This tea is sweet and creamy! Strawberry isn’t overpowering. I’m so terrible, sitting on my couch in the AC drinking hot tea and browsing on my laptop. Spoiled rotten? Totally, but blame it on ASHLEY! She’s the one who gave me the sample!
This tea smelled delicious dry…and steeped. But the taste…it just fell flat, pardon the pun. My wife just about said it all: It tastes like drinking a candle. I didn’t care for this one at all, which made me sad. I always want to love the teas from 52teas, because everyone raves about them, but I never do. I own six and none of them live up to what I expect.
Maybe we’re not meant to tea.
(Get it? Get it? I’m funny)
Preparation
it sounds like it should be yummy indeed!! I do love cherries… maybe you need to let the flavours sink in for a bit? I’ve heard that suggested elsewhere
This tea is SPICY and smooth. You can really taste the pepper and the ginger. It’s a fantastic favorite. Cream and sugar of course.
It lingers on the back of my tongue and makes me happy. Not all chai teas are created equal! I’ve never actually made a chai the traditional way. If I had to choose one, it’s this!
I’ll let you know!

Received this as a sample when I ordered some iced teas. I had been curious about this one. Thanks Frank! I love honeybush, especially since I need to watch my caffeine and oxalate intake.
I steeped 1 heaping teaspoon per 8 ounces at 205 degrees for 10 minutes.
Added a bit of brown sugar and a splash of coconut milk.
This is pretty good! Candy banana flavor, reminiscent of those banana shaped candies and banana cream pie, (especially with the creamy coconut milk.)
The banana flavor is becoming more prominent as it cools. Don’t know if I’d want to drink this all the time but it’s not bad!
It does make me miss Hot Buttered Banana Bread. Wish that was a permanent!
Edit
Don’t know if I’ll be drinking this anymore.. I notice it makes my throat tickly, I’m never allergic to anything.. but I just might be slightly allergic to a flavor component in this blend! :/
Preparation
Backlog!
So I got a sampler package of teas from the VERY generous Steepsterite, Jenn and oh my goodness! this one was tasty.
It was typically sweet the way most dessert teas are… sort of caramely, with a background note of cashew. I overdid the first steep a tad so ended up with a slightly bitter brew, but it stood up without any sugar (barely, I do wish I had added a sprinkle or two). The second steep was the best, being that I did not oversteep! and the third was a touch weak but I didn’t even expect to get that much out of it so I was quite pleased! I could drink this alllll day.
I doubt I would order this one again specifically, since it isn’t all that different from other dessert teas and I would have to pay shipping. I wish they had a shop in Toronto! I loved trying it. and if I ever put in an order for Pancake tea (which I love!! but I can’t recall the precise name) then I may throw this in.
Anyhow, I’m at work… but this is the only internet time I will have for awhile, since we are switching providers at home and the tech won’t be in til later this week pouts
(My other job, where I am tomorrow blocks this site. Smart ones, they are!)
hehe me to! I’m so giddy right now. Over the tea, and getting more hours at my other job. Omw to full-time, maybe! :)
All orders from 52teas ship free to the US and Canada. It may take awhile to get your order, but it’s FREEEEEE!
oh dear me, I need to make an order stat!! but I must finish SOME of what I have first. and pay off my other tea purchases!
Frank’s out of Cashew Turtle and Pancake Breakfast but I have an unopened bag of each I’d be willing to swap if you’d like to in the future :)
I’ve been buying far too many bags of tea and need to make room for the far too many teas I keep purchasing! haha.
ooooOOooh?? do you see anything in my cupboard that you like? (alot of it is almost gone, I just can’t delete it, a bug in the system I think. grrrr!)
I want a dessert tea and a dessert tea I shall have! I’ve been drinking oolongs all day so it’s time to switch gears. I may have too much caffeine coursing through my body to sleep currently, but I’m going to try to settle down with this lovely honeybush.
Neapolitan Honeybush tastes like warm melted ice cream. That may sound gross, but let me assure you it’s darn pretty fantastic. At first sip, I taste creamy vanilla which develops into a rich chocolate flavor, and then it finishes with the wonderful taste of fresh strawberries. Amazing! I suspect that this beauty may be even better iced.
Yum! Dessert craving satisfied.
if your looking for a fantastic dessert tea, you might want to consider ordering a bit of Naivetea’s lychee infused oolong (I know you just mentioned being on an oolong kick but this one is worth it), its an amazing balance of tea and fruit and the fruit builds as you sip it making it a dessert in itself
everyone i sampled it to was breathless and wow’d….I also had the same responses to the white peach, grape, and I have a review of the osmanthus on here as well…the owner is extremely nice and the company is all about quality
If I’m being honest, the white peach, grape may be a better fit for me. Lychee can be a tricky flavor that I sometimes don’t enjoy.
