I really need the teas I’ve ordered to show up already! I’m drinking the same few over and over and over.

But I really like this one. This is a cold steep again, that I left overnight last night. I meant to pour it into a class this morning and completely spaced on it, so it’s been in the fridge for about 24 hours now. Surprisingly still really good. The jasmine still comes through, not bitter or astringent.

I really like this tea. A lot. I’ve moved to this for the afternoon and hopefully these leaves will get me through. I get multiple infusions from this one, and that makes me very happy.

My stomach was bothering me this morning, so I thought this sounded like a good one to have of what I have at work. I really like the balance of the chamomile, mint and citrusy flavors. None seems to overwhelm the others. After drinking, my stomach was settled down and I was much better able to concentrate on work.

I had this one in my travel mug this morning. It’s disappointing that some of the leaf pieces seem to slip through the infuser basket. Too many broken leaves. Today, it actually wasn’t too bad, and mostly they stayed at the bottom and didn’t irritate me. (I didn’t get a chance to clean the basket out this morning, just a quick rinse, but it’s got several pieces stuck in it that I’ll have to work to get out tonight.)

I do enjoy the flavor of this one. It’s a nice floral jasmine, very well balanced with the green tea.

I did another cold steep of this one in my new ForLife Mist tea pitcher. The pitcher works really well. (I’m very excited to have this.)

The pearls didn’t open as much this time as they have previously when I did a cold steep. I may try another infusion with them to see what happens. The tea itself has a delicious jasmine taste that I’m just loving right now.

Also, Penny (the cat in my profile picture) apparently really likes this as I just caught him drinking from my glass.

drank Pu-erh Aged by Deckan Coffee Co.

This is the first pu-erh I’ve tried, and the second time I’ve tried it. The first (before I found steepster) I had Western style. It wasn’t bad.

This time, I tried it in my gaiwan. I enjoyed it much better this way. I wish I’d written down notes (I know to do this next time.) I started with a rinse, and then 20s, 30s, 45s, 1m, 1:30, 2m, 3m, 4m, 5:30 and 7m. I did this with my husband. He liked it best at about 4 and 5:30, but I liked it a lot starting at about 1-3min. I liked how I could taste the difference between the infusions. It was very earthy feeling in the first few infusions, which I liked, but I enjoyed it more as it mellowed but was still strong. Other flavors came through better then.

2 g 2 OZ / 50 ML

drank Cheesecake Matcha by Matcha Outlet

I got my sample yesterday, and I decided to try it today. It smelled quite cheesecake when I opened it. I decided to try it as an iced latte, because of the flavor. I couldn’t find the top for the blender so I figured I’m make it in a cocktail mixer glass. I used a sieve to sift the tea as it seemed pretty clumpy, using a generous half teaspoon. I added milk and ice and shake shake shake. It got very frothy very quickly, but there was still a lot of tea on the bottom of the mixer and in clumps on the side. A quick hit with a spoon helped the bottom and some of the clumps. I shook a lot more and that helped, too.

It didn’t taste as strongly of cheesecake as I would have liked, but it had a nice flavor, a little bit green. I could see doing this as a morning drink in the summer for sure.

This is my first time trying matcha. I think I’ll try it hot later just to see if that works better.

This was 0.5 tsp with 7oz milk. The system didn’t like those entries.

It’s frustrating when you can’t put in the amounts and the flavors you want. Their list of flavors is very limited.

I haven’t played with flavors yet. I figure I’m writing that in the tasting note, right?

I enjoy this tea. Today it’s tasting better to me than last time I had it. I’m not sure why. It’s comforting. Feeling nice and toasty this morning.

I like this tea, but it’s really not the best jasmine on the market. The base tea is only so-so, although the jasmine itself is quite nice. It is fair trade, so that’s cool.

Hot, gets me moving.

Oh, and I rinsed my mug well, but this morning it still tastes smokey. Oops.

drank Lapsang Souchong by Harney & Sons

For forgetting I’d added it to my Amazon cart a few days ago and then placing an order (it’s a Prime Add On item), I was pleasantly surprised when this was in the box today. So much so, that after smelling it, I had some. At night. I hope I can still get to sleep.

When I cracked open the tin, the smokey scent wafted out, teasing my nose, reminding me of some of my favorite scotches. While steeping, the smokiness seemed to fade some, but it was definitely still present on the nose. The first sip was not as overwhelmingly smokey as I thought it would be, but pleasantly so. I drank half of the mug, enjoying the flavor. Not quite earthy in the smokiness.

Then I added just a touch of maple syrup at Sil’s suggestion. That is where it’s at. I normally don’t want a tea sweetened. This tea doesn’t need to be at all, but wow, it just makes it that much better. (And we’re talking maybe 1/8t of syrup at the most.) It makes it so the smoke caresses my tongue and slides around my mouth with every sip.

Glad you like it! I really need to try the syrup thing.

Only takes a tiny bit. It’s delicious.

Still relatively new to drinking teas, or so I feel, even though I’ve been at it for several months now.

I’m drinking more and more of different varieties of tea.

It’s been a few months that I’ve been on here. I’ve expanded from greens and flavored teas to now I’m all about the oolongs and some unflavored blacks. I’m mostly drinking unflavored teas now, but there are a few of those flavored ones that have a special place in my heart.

Pu-erh is also something I’ve recently found that I enjoy.

I have four kitties and a spouse.
