drank Misty Mint by Sierra

Side note: I got an email from Frank this morning: my very first order from 52teas has been shipped! I’m so excited! I can’t wait to try graveyard mist.

I’m trying to finish off some of the random bits and bobs that I have lying around, in preparation for the new tea on its way, and this tea definitely qualifies as either a bit or a bob. I remember picking up this tea in my hotel lobby as I was checking out and throwing it into my bag with the intention of preparing it on the road. But once we got going, the hubby needed me to navigate, and when we finally got onto the highway, I realized I put the bag with this teabag in the trunk of the car– silly me. I would have really preferred to drink this when we were traveling instead of a cup of hot water. Oh well! At least I’m enjoying it now. This tea isn’t stellar, in fact it’s far from it, but I still quite like it. I like that they use both peppermint and spearmint leaves, and the other ingredients seem to complement each other nicely also. I typically prefer a little more strength to my tea, but for an individually packaged teabag that accompanied me in my travels from the U.S. to Canada; it’s a nice little souvenir.

I followed the suggestion on the package and added a cinnamon stick. I can’t say I’m a fan. I know cranberry is typically a tart flavor, but this is just too much. There are better cranberry teas out there. Lowering my rating.

Very unique, with ingredients like mustard seed and sea lettuce. I’m glad I tasted it, but I’m even more glad that it’s finished. BLECH! It’s just not for me.

\0/ for finishing up the last of the tea. Especially with David’s Tea, I’m more excited about getting rid of the old so I can fill up my tin with something (hopefully) better.

That’s exactly it Cavocorax – Davids Tea is always coming up with new and exciting tea to try. So I’m excited to finish some old unfavorites I have sitting in my cupboard, to hopefully make room for some actual favorites

drank Mango Diablo by DAVIDsTEA

I DUMPED waaaay too much tea into my teapot when I was making this. You see, I was debating between finishing off the last bit of toasted walnut, and taking another crack at this one. In the end I just grabbed blindly because I wanted to stop the kettle before the water got too hot. I must have assumed I grabbed the other tea because I just inverted the open pack over the teapot and immediately realized my mistake. ACK!!!! Now what? I momentarily debated scooping some of the tea back into the packet, but since I had already heated up my teapot with hot water, I decided that was a bad idea.

I just re-read my last tealog about this tea, where I comment that I was hoping for more flavour. Well now I’ve got it! The spiciness is obvious, and personally I love this aspect- it’s so unique (although I can see how not everyone would like this). I still would prefer a more robust mango taste to accompany this spiciness, but instead I notice this flavor more in the smell and the aftertaste than in the forefront. The grassiness of the green tea seems to compliment the flavors and the whole combination reminds me of vacationing in some sunny tropical location with grass huts, and spicy food…ahhh…such a nice little teascape on this gray rainy day.

Aaah, happy accidents! It’s unfortunate that so much tea is required to get some real flavour from it, and I can understand that it might feel wasteful, but oh well, at least it went out with a punch, eh? =)

canadianadia

absolutely! It was well worth it as a one time treat

drank Perfect Pear by DAVIDsTEA

I think I dislike this tea more and more each time I drink it. Thankfully, it’s all done now. No more apple cider vinegar tasting hot water! On to better teas that deliver the taste it promises. Although this isn’t the worst tea I’ve ever had, it doesn’t taste like pear, and it’s far from perfect.

I bought this tea as part of a special at the cranberry festival. There was a bit of a crowd, so I just grabbed three that sounded unique and I handed over the cash. I didn’t realize that this one was a rooibos until I got home. I’m not a huge rooibos fan, so I would have chosen something different had I known, but I am actually quite happy with this choice. I like the apple and pistachio tastes together and the “rooibosness” isn’t too overwhelming. It’s not something I’d repurchase because I prefer other types of tea, but it’s much better than I anticipated. Gotta love a little forced branching out gone right.

I did a monster mash of two teas that I like, but don’t love. It was made up of this Pumpkin Spice tea along with 2 Lipton Spiced Cinnamon Chai teabags in a large teapot. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out. I think the sunflower and calendula petals in this tea are all wrong for my taste.

Steepster was playing up for me earlier today, so this was actually written this morning.

My Dad and step-mom are busy setting up for my step-grandma’s 90th birthday today. The hubby and I went over last night to drop off some chairs for the big event. My hubby always likes to show up at their place right after dinnertime. Even though we always have tons of food in our house, he just loves my Dad and step-mom’s cooking, and they just love to feed us whenever we visit. It’s amazing that they always seem to have leftovers for him, as if they know he’s coming. It’s kind of cute.

My Dad offered me a cup of this tea. It’s not bad, in fact, this used to be one of my favorites at his house, but compared to the teas that I buy, it’s nowhere near my favorite. It has a touch more tartness than I like, and the teabag itself is only strong enough to make a single mug at the strength that I like. As far as grocery store boxed teas go, it’s still pretty decent, I just wouldn’t buy it for myself when there are so many nicer options that I enjoy.

I love the leftovers story. =)

I’m feeling a little chilly today, my computer says its 10 degrees, but it feels colder than that to me. I was happy when my Dad dropped by the same time as I arrived home from putting my snow tires on my car, so we could share a pot of this tea. It captures that sweet but sour taste of cranberry punch quite nicely.

While I sip on this hot tea in my snuggly fleece, I’m watching my hubby who appears to be in denial that summer is over. He’s outside putting his laundry on the clothesline! That guy makes me laugh :D

That’s my mug! I’ve never really been a huge fan of Winnie the Pooh, but I like the fact that this mug is more or less clear. Plus, I can’t help but giggle when I say “ewww …I have Pooh on my mug” and people in the room gawk in horror before realizing I’m talking about Winnie. Am I easily amused? heck yeah!

A little something about my interests? – In no particular order, I love tea, makeup, paper crafting (card making), home renovations, and gardening.

As a rule, I tend to drink my tea without adding anything, but if that doesn’t work for me, I indulge in the fact that rules are meant to be broken. Yep! I’m such a rebel…sometimes I even color outside the of lines :P
