I didn’t realize this had stevia in it. This is a really sweet, somewhat punchy lemonade flavor tea. I don’t really mind sweet lemonade, but I’m just not a fan of how stevia tastes. To me it’s a very distinctive flavor all on its own, and I think it just didn’t blend in here. It’s all I was thinking about when I was drinking this (iced).

drank Sunshine by Della Terra Teas

No. Just. No. I didn’t even drink a whole sip of this one because I actually had to spit it out. So I can’t even go further in description that that. No.

I know other people liked this, so I’m probably going to put this up for swap, but I’d totally be okay with first-come first-served, no swap required.

I’m neutral on this one. It’s not awful, and I’m sensing potential for improvement. I’m just at a loss as to how I could make it better. I get a tiny hint of a possibly brown sugar taste at the end of the sip, but adding more tea or sugar just seemed to block that out… which is the opposite of what cake should be.

So if anyone wants an almost entirely full 2oz bag… just say so. I’d love for this to go somewhere it will be enjoyed!

The most drinkable of the actual “tea” teas I got from Della Terra’s Spring Mystery Box. Something about the flavors used on the teas just don’t make my mouth happy.

This was okay, though by the end of a cup I wasn’t really enjoying it so much as trying to finish it. I can’t even describe what I didn’t like, so I’m not rating this.

This tea is finicky. The first few times were huge flops – the first cup too watery, the second one way overleafed. I found the sweet spot at around 2 tsp/8oz water, and then I was actually able to finish the whole cup.

The smell reminded me of that nutty cinnamon raisin bread toast, and that smell was actually pretty accurate to what I tasted, too. There was a bit of “grit” to the cup, which I’m guessing was the tiny cinnamon particles poking through, but it didn’t bother me. A nice tea to have once in a while, but not something I’d drink everyday. I think this would be great around the winter holidays – it has that cozy, brunch feel to it.

drank Té de Frutas by Lupicia

Lupicia is so good at creating delicious smelling teas. I just can’t resist trying them out. This one smells like a lychee fruit party to end all parties. Unfortunately, when I made it hot, it had that flavor that I can only define as “decaf”…

Good news is, it’s great cold-brewed! The lychee and strawberry flavors really come through for a tasty tea. Rating is for cold-brewed, only.

Does anyone else know what I mean by “decaf” taste? It’s sort of a weird texture/perfume taste. Am I imagining things?

This tea truly has the smell and flavor of sour cherries. In the brewed tea, it’s a bit more subtle, but that cherry edge is there, nonetheless. It’s not something I would drink everyday, but I enjoyed the unique tart flavor.
However, I did try it cold once, and that accentuated the bitterness of the black base, so I’d definitely recommend this hot.

drank Coffee Pu'erh by DAVIDsTEA

So I don’t like coffee, and I’ve never tried pu-erh before. So I was already a bit wary. It smells strongly of coffee and brewed up to a ridiculously deep brown color. I put milk and sugar in it since that’s the only way I can drink any amount of coffee, and it was alright. I’m pretty sure actual coffee lovers would get a kick out of this tea.

drank Bollywood Chai by DAVIDsTEA

There’s nothing wrong with this tea, really. Just that I can never remember I don’t care for fennel-type flavors! I got a little overexcited about new chai.

Even with my prejudice against fennel, this was still a smooth and light tea. There’s a bit of sweetness already that I imagine comes from the candied bits, and there’s a hint of vanilla somewhere in there. I’m not going to rate this because my fennel feelings aren’t fair to this chai.

This sounded great in theory, and I was looking for something nice and lemony. Alas, this rooibos is probably the woodsiest, most medicinal one I’ve ever tasted. I couldn’t find lemon in it anywhere. One of my housemates liked it, but it’s not for me. I’d have to go with one of Della Terra’s Lime/Lemon Chiffon blends any day.

I’ve just recently discovered the world of loose tea and am really enjoying myself. I’m still in SAMPLE EVERYTHING mode, and likely always will be.

I love green teas, chai, and citrus flavors. I don’t mind hibiscus. I will drink a bitter green tea, but won’t drink bitter black tea. I’m working on figuring out which black teas work for me.

I tend to drink my tea without milk or sugar.

I’m using Steepster’s Cupboard function to actually reflect my current tea stock, otherwise I’d never be able to remember what I already have.
