drank Tulsi Dosha Chai by Teavana

A nice Chai, kind of softened (but definitely not bland)- probably good as an introduction to stronger teas. It tasted good, but it doesn’t really stand out from other herbal Chai variations. The usual sensual, spicy, woody taste of cinnamon, ginger, and other spices blend well together. Definitely a good tea, it’s just not terribly unique.

—1 and 1/2 sugar cubes

drank Samurai Chai Maté by Teavana

My older brother and I tried this together, we both really enjoyed it! The Chai taste of spices, ginger, and cinnamon blended well with the Mate. It’s such a wonderful blend that you barely need any sweetener! A really, really tasty potpourri, reminds me a little bit of Christmas and a lot of camping in the woods =)

Very energizing too- not bouncing-off-the-walls energy, but a good, more natural pick-me-up for the afternoon.

drank Dragonfruit Devotion by Teavana

Delightful, light, and refreshing- fruity with a touch of candy-taste like a JollyRancher! Definitely passion fruit/s in there (papaya and/or mango) rose/rosehips, and probably hibiscus too, with just the right amount of nice, sweetness. Can’t wait to try this as an iced tea!

—loose leaf w/ infuser
—1 and 1/2 tsp of rock sugar

Flavors: Candy, Fruity, Hibiscus, Mango, Passion Fruit, Rose, Rosehips, Sweet, Tropical

drank Mocha Nut Mate by Adagio Teas
35 tasting notes

I liked this one a lot! The chocolate and nutty tastes heed off some of the bitterness without taking away the pleasant bite the bitterness gives mate. I mixed it with some plain Yerba Mate and really enjoyed that too. Such an earthy, herby flavor! Sooooo satisfying- it’s exactly what I’ve missed since I stopped drinking black tea!

—loose leaf w/ infuser
—1-2 sugar cubes

Flavors: Bitter, Chocolate, Cocoa, Earth, Herbaceous, Mocha, Nuts, Nutty

Boiling 5 min, 0 sec 1 tsp 8 OZ / 236 ML

drank Pina Colada by Adagio Teas
35 tasting notes

Yummy, candy-fruit flavor- a bit acidic, but a pleasant tartness. Definitely can taste the pineapple, coconut, maybe some cranberry and/or raspberry, but difficult to make out the Pina Colada taste. Still a really great fruity herbal tea!

—loose leaf w/ infuser
—1 tsp of rock sugar

I used 1 tsp of rock sugar- not sure how much I’m supposed to use, but seeing as it doesn’t hide the tea’s taste, it probably doesn’t matter..?

(I was a little disappointed in that it tasted very, very similar to Teavana’s “Wild Orange Blossoms” but seeing as that tea is so freaking good, it isn’t really a criticism I guess. I just kind of expected this one to have a separating, distinct taste but that’s okay.)

Flavors: Candy, Coconut, Cranberry, Fruity, Pineapple, Raspberry, Rosehips

Boiling 5 min, 30 sec 2 tsp 8 OZ / 236 ML

Good and soothing. Strong taste of chamomile, valerian, mint, and lavender. Maybe some cinnamon or light ginger? Light, floral kind of taste with a satisfying bite.

drank Watermelon Cooler by Adagio Teas
35 tasting notes

Yum- tastes refreshing but like the tea version of a Jolly Rancher! Tones of cranberries, rose, watermelon of course, and a hint of orange. Very lovely, sweet and tart at the same time! I’d probably use more tsp next time, though. Can’t wait to try this as an iced tea!

drank Honeybush Chocolate by Adagio Teas

Light and choclate-y! Very nice, but I will probably use more than 1 tsp next time because this was a little too light. Recommend using sugar cubes rather than rock sugar.

drank Yerba Mate by Adagio Teas

I like it- very earthy, but a little too bitter. It has a wonderful taste though- like you stuck your head right in the garden! The kind of earthy taste I miss from black tea. (Maybe only use 1 tsp next time though, it has a very strong taste. Recommend using sugar cubes next time.)

—loose leaf w/ infuser
—approx.1 tsp of rock sugar

Flavors: Bitter, Earth, Herbaceous

drank Rooibos Earl Grey by Adagio Teas
35 tasting notes

Got this as a sample from Adagio! I like it a lot- I gave up black and green teas for religious reasons, and I’ve missed Earl Grey soooo much- but this is a very good herbal version of it! Very earthy, refreshing, almost a hint of mint- I really love this!

Next time though, I’ll use more tea seeing as 1 tsp was a little too weak for me- and maybe sugar cubes for this one rather than rock sugar.

—loose leaf w/ infuser
—approx. 1 tsp rock sugar

Flavors: Earl Grey, Earth, Herbaceous, Mint

I am still a very n00b when it comes to tea even though I’ve been drinking herbal tea all my life. I only fell madly in love with it just a few months ago- next thing I know, I have 11 boxes of different teas. (I just counted xD)

I’m Mormon/LDS, so I only drink herbal tea. I drank black tea for a while, but eventually decided to switch back to herbal for religious reasons- though I loved the taste of Traditional British Breakfast, Chai, and Earl Grey (all under the Twinings brand).

Since then, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed finding and tasting different herbal teas- it came be so relaxing or so energizing. I love it!
