217 Tasting Notes
Kissing squirrels – how could I resist???? However there is just something about this tea that I don’t quite like, I mean yes, it should be quite tasty what with the chestnuts and the almonds and the caramel and all… you know what it is… it tastes just a tiny bit chemically… boo. I think I’ll give this another try a little later in the day and see if it grows on me.
I’ve had this tea in my cupboard for a couple of weeks now and finally decided to open up the bag this morning while I was standing in front of my, what is quickly becoming, ridiculously huge stash of tea. I was after something that I could ice as its already well into the 90’s here in Southern California and a hot cup of tea when its 95 outside just does not always sit right… Anyways… this tea is pretty darn delicious iced, its a toasty cheesecakey mapley nutty cup of goodness and I was actually pretty surprised that it lent itself this well to icing… the maple smells a little overpowering in the bag but once iced it blends well with the other flavors and compliments the nutty undertones. I guess the next step is to try it hot and see if it translates just as well, if not, I’m more than happy to drink the whole bag iced!
So I really like this tea… its a great evening cuppa as it has zero caffeine and tastes deliciously of rose, apple and berries.. however the only way to purchase it is via a small tin of tea bags… although I love tea bags for ease of travel, I’m slightly dumbfounded that Adagio only offers this tea in bagged form?? Its so delicious and I don’t want to have to purchase a tin with only 15 bags in it every time I run out!! Boo :(
Seriously amazing! This is beautiful green tea with the most gorgeous pine flavor, it seriously tastes like a winter hike in an alpine forest. I may have to hoard this stash as whispering pines tea company is currently out of stock and I don’t know if I could handle being out! In fact, Im busy steeping a second infusion as we speak :)
So I’m basically drinking this to get rid of it. I must admit I’ve never drunk this tea hot, only iced, and its a little too chemically for me and not fruity enough. I don’t taste the blueberry or the pineapple only the sweetener… boo… not at all what I was expecting or hoping for
It’s difficult – I like this tea but I don’t like this tea, does that even make sense? There is something about this tea that just doesn’t sit right with me (although one of my colleagues at work loved the cup I made them)… sigh! I wish I could put my finger on it! Guess I’ll just sip through this bag (or give it to my colleague) and be done with it.
What a delicious cup of morning pick me up! I received this tea as a bonus through an order I made with Butiki a couple of weeks ago and am just now getting around to trying it… Lazy sunday morning, slight chill in the air, book, bed, cup of tea… do sunday mornings get any better than this??? I had to add milk and a touch of sugar to the tea but this just amps up the flavor in my opinion. I think I may have found a new lazy sunday breakfast tea staple
Ok, so I want to start this review by saying that the tea isn’t bad, not great, but not bad… my experience in the store however ensures I will never step foot in a Teavana store again… So I guess I better start from the beginning…. So, I’ve never visited Teavana before but this morning my cousin sent me a link to a cute tea cup from them I just had to have! Since I was heading to the mall this afternoon I decided to make a stop at Teavana… Big Mistake! I walked in and headed straight to my coveted cup when I was stopped by the sales assistant, would I like a taste experience? ummm, sure, i responded. The assistant then proceeded to walk me through the shop to four different tasting stations before asking me which one I would like to purchase…. ummmm, well the Blueberry bliss pineapple kona seemed nice so I’ll get some of that especially since I dont like sweetened blends… cut to us at the register and she is suddenly pouring tea into a 8 oz reusable container, after I state two or three times that I only want a couple of oz she basically states that shes already mixed the container and its too late i have to purchase…. then she has the audacity to ask if I would like to purchase an additional 8 oz of tea to get a discount, oh and this tea is best with sweetener so i should buy some (didn’t we already have this conversation?!?!?) … so in the end my $20 purchase ended up costing me over $60 – needless to say, this was my first and last trip into Teavana… ok rant over.
The tea isnt bad, she did give me a sample pack with just it in it, however I much prefer David Teas Blueberry Jam and the shopping experience is much more relaxing…
