Huge chunks of fruit and plenty of it! I actually scooped so much fruit out of the bag that I had to dump all the tea into a bowl to be sure I didn’t get all of the fruit in one steep – but sure enough the bag was chalk full of fruity pieces!
A nice fruit tea – a bit like Happy Kombucha I was lucky to get to try last night thanks to a swap partner! I think I like Happy Kombucha a bit more but this is a very good fruity tea!
I will use more leaf next time – or less water as I feel the flavors are not quite strong enough for me even with all the fruit. Steep two may bring out more flavor however as the fruit is dehydrated so perhaps needed more soak time. Will note more on second steep.

Preparation
180 °F / 82 °C 3 min, 0 sec
Azzrian

Second steep was good – as good as first – I still would add more leaf next time though.

Thank you Indigobloom for this sample! Everyone probably knows by now Im not a big DT fan but this is one of my absolute favs from DT! As an oolong its not all that … I mean there are far better oolongs out there BUT this tea offers a sweet and yet tart but not TOO tart yummiess, no scummy oily top coat I get with many of DT’s blends, tropical flavors abound, I do agree with other reviewers that there is a peachy flavor to it even though there is no tea in the ingredient list, I taste the mango, but not so much the pineapple but the blend of all the fruits is perfect! I am sure this would be excellent iced but its soothing and yummy hot tonight! This would perhaps even make a nice drink blend – add some rum perhaps? I don’t drink anymore “oh no no no I don’t drink no more” some of you may remember that song, although I changed one word…I digress …. YUM YUM YUM!
If I were ever going to place a DT order I would get this. Thank you Indigobloom for a GENEROUS sample – I have enough to make this again sometime! I am sure I will!

Indigobloom

yay, we have a hit!! I think I need to make some tomorrow… while I listen to some classic Winehouse!

Azzrian

Sounds like a plan!! :)

Thought Kombucha was a live, lightly fermented liquid beverage (Wiki : Kombucha is an effervescent tea-based beverage that is often consumed for its anecdotal health benefits or medicinal purposes. Kombucha is available commercially and can be made at home by fermenting tea using a visible, solid mass of yeast and bacteria which forms the kombucha culture, often referred to as 酵母 (koubo, lit. “yeast mother”, see etymology for disambiguation with 昆布, kombu, kelp). How can they name it after such? Is it probiotic? seems misleading…

Azzrian

I have no earthly idea honestly. I have recently seen these Kombucha brew kits popping up for sale online and a couple of threads on here about brewing it but I have no personal idea what it is, other than what you just pasted above and something Bonnie posted in her review of this same tea about it being really popular with the hippies lol.
You may be on to something here though about it being misleading!

As others have said this is a really good tea. The Blueberry is fresh and ripe and not artificial tasting at all. There are in fact blueberries in this tea. The creaminess is present and good, I imagine this would taste amazing with some sugar and milk although it is really not needed but hey if you really want to feel like you are being sinful go right ahead and add it! The sweetness is balanced nicely and does not taste like artificial sweeteners have been added but who knows. I am not QUITE as in love with it as others but its damn good!

I got this in sample from from one of my good buddies here – I think either Indigobloom or Mercuryhime … I think Mercuryhime. Im sorry ladies … age settling in – not sure which end is up anymore. This is some good tea though! I love Den’s iced teas but never bought the mint – which is odd – I love mint tea! I am going to get some of this for sure! So easy to brew – cold steeps in one hour in the fridge, great mint flavor without being over done and of course a good green base I have come to love from Den’s.
Thank you to whomever shared this with me!

Mercuryhime

I believe this was from me unless Indigobloom gave you the same thing. :) Glad you like it! Cold mint is so refreshing in warm weather.

Azzrian

It was you then as I only had the one sample. I was pretty sure it was from your package. I tried to mark most things but missed a few. :)

Indigobloom

nope nope wasn’t me :)

Azzrian

Ah thanks Indigobloom :) Now we know for sure :)
Sorry I am not more together with my samples. I do appreciate everything every one has sent! I love doing the trades and have found some new favorites from everyone! :)

When I saw there were OLIVES in this tea I was sold.
So this is a lovely light green tea base with a delicate smattering of fruits.
You can in fact taste the olive coming out in almost this peppery note but only so slight and non obtrusive.
The sweetness is very natural and not overpowering whatsoever.
The tea has a sparkling sensation on the tongue and an overall effervescent nature to it.
This tea would be amazing cold but I would highly suggest adding a lot of extra tea because it is a very light tea. If you were to add ice I fear the flavors would be lost. This is NOT to say it is a weak tea however. Its just that it is not trying to pretend to be something it is not and if any flavor additives were used such as artificial I sure am not detecting them.
I admit I have fallen in love with Gurman’s and so far every tea from them I have had the luxury of trying.
I wish the shipping were not such a killer but now that I have tried several of their teas I know it is well worth it when I can make an order with them.
Granted the shipping is more than fair considering they are shipping to the USA from Ireland!
I do think I will go with more tea next time I steep this. I used two teaspoons and recommend for green tea is 2 to 3. I was being stingy trying to conserve but this tea deserves – I deserve (lol) this tea in its best form.
It really is all that!

What a lovely easy to drink tea! Thank you MERCURYHIME (capitalizing since I don’t know how to bold) for sharing this sample with me! Also thank you for sending enough for a second cup – I really like it! This has been on my shopping list It think since I joined steepster! Don’t know why I have not picked any up yet. Some things just got stuck on the list.
It is indeed chocolaty and I also happened to have a bit of chocolate here to eat while sipping! YAY! Also tasting the nuttiness!
Now I am not saying it is THE most complex tea ever but it is nice, it is exactly what it says it is and we need more of those teas out there in flavored teas!
As for the base, I am not sure what kind of black tea they are using, but it is very light which is fine, I think I would not mind a bit bolder of a black tea though.
All in all – I am pleased with this one!

Missy

I think you use an asterisk on each side.

Missy

Yup or copy and paste the name.

Azzrian

WOOOO FREAKING HOOOOO thank you Missy!!! :)

Lucy

Ooh yummy! Chocolate and nuttiness! Yay for tea! =)

Missy

Your welcome ;)

Azzrian

Yeah I let my daughter have the last of it though I HAD to share :)

Mercuryhime

Glad you liked it!

Thank you Mercuryhime for sharing with me! Well its okay … I can slightly taste the caramel in it – its not strong but it is there. It is also just okay as an oolong. The roasting is nicely done but it has a bit of a watery taste. I used plenty of leaf to water ratio. I think this could be an absolutely excellent tea if they worked it out a little. I am glad I got to try it!

Thank you Mercuryhime for sharing a sample of this with me!!
I do enjoy this.
It is very milky and creamy and like another reviewer said, brothy.
Its not an in your face cantaloupe which is nice because its natural and not artificially flavored and I do see how this would make an excellent iced tea! Im not patient enough to try it though and only have this one cup :)
It smells AMAZING and there is a part of me that wishes it had a bit more of a punch to the flavor but I can appreciate a natural flavor over artificial any day. I guess my only request would be CAN Frank make it a bit stronger flavored with the natural died cantaloupe?

Mercuryhime

i sorta liked how the melon seemed to meld into the tea. I really like it but it’s soooo caffeinated.

Azzrian

Really? I had it during a busy point in my day so I didn’t notice this but very nice to know! Would make a great morning tea then!

Kittenna

Mmmmm, how does it compare to Butiki’s Cantaloupe and Cream? I’m guessing you prefer Butiki’s version. I am going to have to check and see whether LiberTEAS sent me some of this one.

Azzrian

I do prefer Butiki’s version.

My order from Gurman’s arrived today! I just want to say considering this came from Ireland the shipping was insanely fast! BOTH of my kids got jobs this week – BEST Mother’s Day EVER!!! In celebration and just in time for it, we shared a steep of this wonderful tea!
The tea is so beautiful with chocolate hearts and pink peppercorns! It smells insanely delicious! It tastes fruity, sparkly, a bit of chocolate flavor with a slight bite from the peppercorn. I love it!

Very nice. Though I would think an Irish tea company would have lots of strong teas.

Azzrian

They have quite a bit of everything but since I was placing an order from so far away I focused on their speciality teas rather than things I can get from a lot of other places more local. Trust me I could have spent WAY too much on their site lol I tried to keep it under control. My order was right around 50 with 17 of that being shipping.

Scott B

I understand what you mean about it being very easy to spend way too much!

Azzrian

I have also come to realize I have more tea now than I can possibly drink before it goes stale. I must stop absolutely STOP ordering!!!

Scott B

I’m not ready to make such a pronouncement myself-but probably soon enough.

Azzrian

Who said I was ready hahahaa – I probably can’t stick to it either.

ashmanra

They source from Germany I think, just like Tin Roof Teas does. The two teas I had were quite good. I do not remember seeing those pretty little pink peppercorns before but they were in my Pepper Mango tea and then I saw them yesterday in Penzy’s Spice Shop, then again in Williams Sonoma. Isn’t that how it goes? :)

Azzrian

Oh I do love the Pepper Mango tea!!! I ordered some of that too :)
What is this? Tin Roof Teas? Hummm thats another new one to me.

Got a sample of this from Krystaleyn although I think I sent a PM to Indigobloom thanking her for it lol Im SO CONFUSED!!!! Anyway so Im not the biggest DavidsTea fan but this one was nice. I can’t say it was excellent as a TEA but then it is a rooibos I suppose. I guess I just am not a huge rooibos fan. Unless I want something sweet and yummy and this IS sweet and it IS yummy!
I just really wish I had more decaf TEA in my stash for nighttime but I wanted something warm and soothing and sweet last night pretty late so this was my pick from my sample pile. The one thing I dislike most about DavidsTeas is the scum on the top of the tea from the flavor oils I suppose. This had that. Eweeee but the flavor was excellent!
Thank you Krystaleyn!

Kittenna

I definitely sent some to you :) I’m also not the biggest rooibos fan, it seems, but it’s nice sometimes.

Azzrian

Yeah it was from you LOL Sorry about that girl :)

Most of my reviews will be “snippits” of full reviews that can be found at http://sororiteasisters.com/
Posted every evening at 6 EST.
I usually try to post the exact date that the full reviews will post however sometimes post dates need changed so it may not always be correct. Generally the dates are correct however.

About Me:

Most of my reviews, although not all, will be quite favorable of the tea. This is not because all tea is excellent, but more so because I generally will not waste my time on an inferior tea. If I do not care for a tea I won’t continue to drink it let alone spend time reviewing it. If you see a review by me you basically know it is a quality tea. Granted it may not suit your specific taste buds, we all like different things, but as for a tea on the whole it is a good one, from a good company.

I am a spiritual advisor by profession.
I have two “young adult” children.
Four cats and three dogs.

Some of my hobbies include gardening, essential oil therapy, natural perfumery with essential oils, and cooking.

I look for complexity overall in any tea, dimensions to the flavors.

I believe tea should evoke a feeling, thought, emotion, or attitude.

I enjoy most all oolongs, blacks, whites, and greens.

I always love to try a good yellow tea.

I favor unadulterated teas but I do have my longings for a good flavored tea now and then so I don’t rule them out by any means!

I enjoy green rooibos don not like red rooibos.
