drank Lapacho Orange by The Tea Haus

I love this stuff! First of all we burn this wood as an incense. It smells AMAZING and clears negative energy from the home, if you believe in those things, and well, we do. Also it is medicinal as well which is a huge plus! I have a bag of this stuff shredded like in the tea. I have steeped this before in the past and drank it regularly but with most things I tend to go in spurts then get on a new kick and forget about it. I’m bad like that. Regardless, this is YUMMY! As others have said – it is truly orange flavored – very natural – NOT artificial at all!
I love the woodsy flavor, this is something I will either try to recreate here at home or just say forget about it and order from The Tea Haus!
Thank you IndigoBloom for reawakening my love for this tea – well actually introducing me to this form of it! :) LOVE it!
Steeped 15 minutes in boiling water as opposed to directions but directions are best for getting the most medicinal quality from it. It still tastes great and has the medicinal qualities either way.

Boiling 8 min or more

drank Dulce & Banana by DAVIDsTEA

Thank you Krystaleyn for this sample! Well okay so you can’t really mess this up. I totally TOTALLY over steeped it. My mother came (without warning) and so I spaced this off. It steeped probably 15 minutes and was still good! I didn’t care for it too much before adding sugar and milk but I’m not a huge fan of chamomile. I don’t hate it – I just can live without it. The banana did wake up – fully – when the sugar and milk were added.
I doubt I would ever reorder this but again – its not MY cup of tea – but for what it is – it is a very good tea! David’s got this one right!

Preparation
Boiling 8 min or more
Kittenna

I do find it’s better with a shorter infusion, although longer doesn’t ruin it. But yes, if you aren’t a big chamomile fan it’s not going to woo you too much, I don’t think!! :)

Azzrian

However it was quite pleasing for not liking chamomile too much so it was good :) For those who do like Chamomile I bet they would LOVE this one!

A good Almond Tea is very hard to find. Most are either sick with artificial flavors or have a terrible after taste! Or both! This one is perfect! Now I must say – I had a sample of the almond cookie before and I think of the two if I had to choose just one I would go for the cookie version BUT I love this too. I know that Stacy has been blending and re-blending this mix for a while now – some people prefer one – some the other – I suggest that these become two totally separate blends! :) I know Stacy Im asking a lot lol but really they are both excellent and both different enough for people to have favorites! :)
This one here though is really very nice. Smooth, no bitter or astringent tastes, the cinnamon is very light and as TeaEqualsBliss said sits in the background and does so quite nicely. Mine is the almond indulgence version and still has this cinnamon quality. I must stress it is a very light cinnamon, not a hot one. The almond could not be any better – really perfect almond flavor – NO nasty after taste. I am quite certain this would be yummy with milk and or sugar but it is not necessary at all.
Thank you Stacy! Glad I ordered this one!

Butiki Teas

I see your point. It seems like there is a division between people who want a little cookie taste and others who want their strong almond. I would definitely consider doing 2 types of almond. To me this blend would probably be called Almond Cookie and then I would redo the Almond Indulgence so that it is a stronger purely almond flavor with no vanilla or cinnamon.

Indigobloom

cinnamon and almond really do seem to go together!

Azzrian

Yeah they do Indigobloom – thanks Stacy for considering! :)

Dinosara

Stacy I would love it if you would make a strong almond tea without cinnamon… I don’t want cinnamon in my almond tea, just sweet almond (like marzipan!) and a great black tea base.

Azzrian

That sounds great Dinosara I would want that but I also want the almond cookie with the splash of cinnamon and sweetness as well. LOL I just want everything :)

Butiki Teas

Dinosara-I will probably be working on that a few months from now. I have some new flavors that have priority but I like the idea of making a purely almond tea in addition to the almond cookie type tea I’ve got now.

This is scrumptious! Tastes just like it smells, like an tangerine creamsicle!
The smell is awakening, the flavor is creamy more so on the after taste, the initial sip is circusy. As it cools the cream is more prominent and less in the after taste and more in the entire flavor. There is a slight tinge of an after taste that is sort of twangy and dry but not bothersome to me. Like dry wine. Some may not like this but thats fine more tea for me lol. Hubby does not like the Guayusa sediment but it does not bother me at all – then again he is not used to tea as a whole let alone Guayusa.
A very tasty tea that lingers on the palate!

Will Work For Tea

The name alone sounds amazing!

Azzrian

I know right :) I actually have some orange creamcsicles in the fridge right now too LOL I have to have one while sipping this tea :)

Butiki Teas

I had originally wanted to name it Tangerine Dreamsicle but I also didn’t want Tangerine Dream to sue me.

Azzrian

What is Tangerine Dream? I like the name you gave it though – it is exactly what it smells and tastes like. Dreamsicle – hummm that leaves too much to the imagination ..

Butiki Teas

Tangerine Dream is an experimental-ish 1960s German electronic band. Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igDImdr5-qU. Yeah, I’m kinda weird.

Butiki Teas

I see your point that dreamsicle could leave too much to the imagination. People might not pick up on the cream aspect of the guayusa.

Azzrian

Ohhh yes indeed I do know of them! I thought maybe it was another tea lol – I love Tangerine Dream actually have a CD or two somewhere of theirs. Thanks for reminding me of that!

Butiki Teas

Sweet, I’m not the only one that likes weird music. Now you have some theme music to go with your guayusa. :)

Azzrian

Indeed and I am also playing bejewelled with lag – add this music – really fun :)

Butiki Teas

The game bejewelled? If so, that’s awesome.

Azzrian

LOL yeah dang game is addicting!

Butiki Teas

That’s awesome!

Very nice chilled. I think it makes the flavor profiles more prominent. The “twine” flavor comes out more now. :)

Kittenna

Twine flavour???

Azzrian

well wine is what I meant :)

Kittenna

Wait, tea-wine? I’m super tired right now (must be nearly 30 hours awake) and not all here right now, haha.

Azzrian

Yup TWINE think T for Tea Wine for Wine :) Chardonnay is a white usually dry wine – some can be sweeter than others. :)

Kittenna

Gotcha. That took me too long. I’m at about 36 hours without sleep right now (but I’m in bed now I swear!)

Azzrian

Hope you got some sleep!

Kittenna

Ahh, yes I did :) Give or take about 15 hours worth :D Of course, getting up at 5pm has its downsides, namely that I’m still awake at 5:30am…

Azzrian

LOL I am so there with you – we are only beginning to get our sleep schedule back on track but its not easy at all.

Kittenna

Haha, yes, I’ve now done another 30-odd hours without sleeping – haven’t slept since I got up around 5pm that day, and it’s nearly 2am now. But this should be done now as I think I’m done harvesting…

Azzrian

LOL you so crazy! Good to have that kind of energy I think I would have been dead by now if I were trying to do that!

I received many samples of Twines from Leaves of Tea.
This is the first one I have had time to sit down and review.
Being completely new to Twines I wanted to take time to really give it my focus.
First of all I love peach and, well, I used to love chardonnay. Still do but no longer drink alcohol. So this is nice.
The peach is subtle but present. A juicy ripe peach absent of chemical artificial flavorings. This is a plus!
The base is a very basic black tea. I am not picking up any finer qualities however I am also not getting any astringency or bitterness. A very nice subdued black base.
The aroma is also quite lovely of ripe peach and the slight scent of a dry white wine.
On the sip – toward the back edges of the tongue you get a tingly sensation.
The more the tea cools the more sweetness and flavor tends to come out. For this reason I am going to chill the rest of this steep and report more later.
Thanks to Leaves of Tea I have a generous sample here and enough for one or two more cups!

drank Jin Jun Mei by KIMICHA

This is my morning cup today. I won this from Kimicha’s FB page.
Lizeepea I am so sorry it has taken me so very long to review this.
This is a very fine tea.
A cocoa essence, with playful hints at a maltiness but very delicate hints, sweet, super sweet really.
The leaf is beautiful – deep brown with golden tips. Very sunny and it smells amazing!
As for this being produced in the method of LS well I don’t know anything about that – it has none of the same flavor elements of LS in my opinion well none of the smokiness anyway.
Just a full hearty mouthfeel meaty almost – rich and delicious without any astringency or bitterness whatsoever.
Love this!

This is unlike any pu-erh I have ever tasted. Very LIGHT and mellow. A nice rice flavor that is cleansing and enjoyable – especially with a homemade stir fry!
I did a quick 30 second rinse – then a 30 second steep which was a bit weak for me so on the next steep I did a good minute. This for me was perfect. The tea does have a stronger smell than flavor but it is so enjoyable to sit there allowing it to clear your sinus and sniffing the wonderful aroma! The flavor is light and yummy but not intense by any means. I do want to order some of this and a couple of other things from this tea company at some point in the near future.

Fair Trade and Organic +2
Slightly Bitter -1
Lovely floral Balance +1
Good Pricing +1
A somewhat new company (I think) – nice website but it seems to still being worked on as it has already changed recently.
This is a nice tea – but there are many far better out there – here is the issue I have – I have been drinking Shang, Verdant, Teavivre all day today and yesterday so it is going to be very hard to measure up to those companies. HOWEVER in fairness to this one, I have had far worse! The thing is I am new to Jasmine tea as a whole so I have not necessarily had “far worse” jasmine tea. This company seems to be good and I have other teas of theirs to try so we will see.
I like that they seem to know who they are, simplistic bagged tea, with vibrant red, fair trade, organic, and excellent information about the teas, the company, sustainability, etc on their site.

Here is an excerpt from the site:
We decided to sell Chinese tea that is simple, high quality, and straightforward — tea that our friends from Beijing would recognize and enjoy. So: no Mango-Walnut-Green-Tea-Surprise. Instead we will sell green tea, black tea, and white tea. Just tea, no flavoring except for jasmine, which is as traditional a flavoring as tea itself.

I will sample more of the teas I have from them soon. For now this is good, not great maybe but very good.

Most of my reviews will be “snippits” of full reviews that can be found at http://sororiteasisters.com/

I usually try to post the exact date that the full reviews will post however sometimes post dates need changed so it may not always be correct. Generally the dates are correct however.

About Me:

Most of my reviews, although not all, will be quite favorable of the tea. This is not because all tea is excellent, but more so because I generally will not waste my time on an inferior tea. If I do not care for a tea I won’t continue to drink it let alone spend time reviewing it. If you see a review by me you basically know it is a quality tea. Granted it may not suit your specific taste buds, we all like different things, but as for a tea on the whole it is a good one, from a good company.

I am a spiritual advisor by profession.
I have two “young adult” children.
Four cats and three dogs.

Some of my hobbies include gardening, essential oil therapy, natural perfumery with essential oils, and cooking.

I look for complexity overall in any tea, dimensions to the flavors.

I believe tea should evoke a feeling, thought, emotion, or attitude.

I enjoy most all oolongs, blacks, whites, and greens.

I always love to try a good yellow tea.

I favor unadulterated teas but I do have my longings for a good flavored tea now and then so I don’t rule them out by any means!

I enjoy green rooibos don not like red rooibos.
