807 Tasting Notes
I have been sipping on this tea for a couple of hours and when I came to log it was surprised to hear there is bergamot in it! LOL I know what bergamot taste like but I really didn’t notice it much. I did THINK I tasted some fig – which is odd, but here it is BERGAMOT and you know now that I read this I KIND of get A LITTLE bergamot and a slight orange but its not one of those in your face bergamots at all YET I do enjoy it quite much. Its an easy sipper and quite enjoyable!
Thank you Terri HarpLady for sharing!! :) I do love anything from LTR!
This is yummy!
I wish I could remember who sent this to me – I think Amanda and I am so sorry – I failed to mark who sent it and have it in my box of teas to try.
So good I LOVE ice wine tea.
This one is a little different than others I have had – more berryish, more natural perhaps, lighter, more laid back and very naturally flavored.
I do indeed like this oh yes … this is the kind of tea to have with a veggie tray or fruit platter. Something for special times. :)
Glad I got to try it.
I have never tried an ice wine tea! I really need to, they always get such good reviews and sound so yummy.
Yes this one was from me! I should get more of it, I don’t think I have too much left and it’s so good!
A huge Thank you to Teajo Teas for this very generous “sample”!
This is not a knock it out of the park flavored tea but I tell you what, the past several days I have not felt up to par and a lot of my favorite teas have not been settling well with me. I kept finding myself reaching for just two teas during this time. This is one of them.
Its a solid peach flavored tea that is very natural in its flavoring and has just a tiny slightly bit of a floral flavor.
The base is lovely.
This is for sure one of those teas to keep in your stash for company, for yourself, for people you want to introduce to a good tea, but not one that is terribly complex or overwhelming.
Its great iced, cold steeped, hot, straight, with sweetener, even some milk or cream could be added, its just a stand up quality tea.
Thank you Teajo Tea for introducing me to your teas!
Toasty, nutty, sweet but not cloying.
A nice white toffee flavored tea.
I have found I am not IN LOVE with the white teas lately … I don’t dislike them but I’m not craving them.
With that said … this one is quite enjoyable!
The flavors are not artificial tasting and there is no cloying sweet or artificial yuck flavor left behind.
Definitely getting the nutty toasty flavor from the toffee.
I like the look of the leaves – some large ones, some rolled like ones, its pretty to look at.
Good job Zen Tea so far I like everything I have tired!
:)
Weird, I commented on this and the comment disappeared. Well, all I wanted to say is that I got this one too and am looking very forward to try it. I really want to like it a lot.
Thank you Zen Tea for this lovely sample! A nice sized sample to boot!
I love coconut oolongs, pouchongs, etc when they are made well and this one sure is!
The coconut flavor is perfect and NOT artificial at all!
LOVELY oolong base tea!
Sweet and floral and vegetal and a wonderful after taste!
Look for a detailed review on http://sororiteasisters.com/ coming soon!
A centering and calming tea that will take you away to a far better place when you are feeling chaotic and stressed.
My full review will be on http://sororiteasisters.com/ on the 26th but don’t hesitate to grab some of this before it is gone.
I love Shang teas and am so happy that they are located somewhat close to me!
A really soothing cup!
This is a very interesting tea! I want to have it again later or another day when I can focus more closely on it as today I am a bit under the weather. However with that said – this has a lot of pu-erh qualities to it with earthy deep notes!
I think I am going to like this one!
I have enough left for another steeping session on another day – for now I have done three steeps and its still going strong for this session.
I so would love to share more info on this tea and leave more notes but I have the head spins right now.
Going to doctor tomorrow.
BAH.
Thank you both!
That sounds really good and I know this rich wonderful tea could handle it as well :)
Thank you for the suggestion!
Tiramisu Matcha
You can buy it here: http://www.redleaftea.com/matcha-tea/tiramisu-matcha.html
Very true to the taste of traditional tiramisu. You can even taste the chocolate dust powder on top of the tiramisu, along with the Vienna fingers and mascarpone! Very nice!
Many years ago, I had the BEST traditional tiramisu ever. I may never find another like it again in this lifetime. It was in a small Italian restaurant either in Kansas City, or Chicago, I so wish I could recall. The “story” was that it was once owned by the mob, and that the same family still owned it although they no longer ran the place, and supposedly were no longer mob related. lol Regardless, the food was amazing, it felt like being right there in Italy having a true Italian meal. The tiramisu, Oh my, so authentic! I have had many tiramisu since then always seeking for that elusive flavor I once had, but I have never found it. I would have to say that this matcha is a close one to that tiramisu, although I don’t get to bite into it, I can still taste the elements within it.
The liquor flavor, the chocolate power dusting on top, the Vienna Fingers, the mascarpone cheese, so delectable!
Granted I would still love to find a true tiramisu that tastes like the one I had long ago, but then I suppose I would have to travel not only to another state but also back into the deep dark recesses of my mind to remember where the heck that place was! That would be a long dark travel indeed! Hard to say if that place even still exists! Regardless here I can sit and sip on my tiramisu matcha and be quite happy! Its very good.
My matcha was composed as the following:
Size : Small
Matcha Quality: Starter (Basic Grade)
Flavor: Robust
Storage : Add Small Metal Tin Container (Holds up to 45g)
As always I highly suggest you get the tin – its a screw on lid that keeps your matcha fresh and dry and helps you keep from spilling it by trying to scoop it out of the bag.
Again you can get yours here:
