This was my morning cup, and I really enjoyed its creaminess. It has a French vanilla note, honey, condensed milk/cream, floral, buttery oolong. While I would have preferred something less artificial/flavoured and more oolong-y, this tastes like a french vanilla steamed milk, and I’m very ok with that.

This is a mystery tea I recieved in my order (I bought 4 mystery teas at $1 per sampler pouch). I’m still exploring green teas, and so far I’ve had the most luck with dragon well because it tends to be sweet and nutty (like soybean). This particular one was very fresh (just picked in spring 2017), and so I’m excited to open it now. Even though I’ve got so many caffeinated teas already open, I figure fresh dragon well is going to taste best if consumed soon.

350 mL, 4g leaf, 2 minute steep (two steeps at 2 minutes each), hottish water (~80 deg. C)

While this was more vegetable than I hoped (baby spinach, bok choy), the classic dragonwell nutty profile (soybean) if there too. A slight sweetness is present, but nothing like the stonefruit notes I’ve tasted in other dragonwells. This leans towards vegetal and nutty but not fruity.

Flavors: Bok Choy, Nutty, Soybean, Spinach, Sweet, Vegetal

Preparation

Bio

I am a biochem major hoping for a career in research genetics and evolutionary biology. I love science fiction and spend too much of my time reading comic books. I’m a passionate keeper of spiders, cacti, and exotic plants. I eat a vegan, plant-based diet for moral and environmental reasons (I mention this only because it is relevant to which flavoured teas I drink).

I drink mostly flavoured and low caffeine teas/tisanes, but I will try anything twice. As far as pure teas go, I gravitate towards whites, yellows, and jade oolongs. I’m always open for trades and sample sales/exchanges. Message me any time :)

My cupboard is mostly up to date. For a more comprehensive list, see my stash spreadsheet here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-HjWKR3um-xEnj6HC9vMvKXOAyj_bpW5u_2ixEC20-k/edit?usp=sharing
