I did 3 steeps using 1.5 tsp leaf and 300 mL hot water in a gong-fu teapot

Steep 1: 1 minute – nice deep roasted flavour, bran, grain
Steep 2: 2 min – toasted rice, raisin, molasses
Steep 3: 2 min – more of the same, very smooth each steep, main note is roasted oolong with some fruity notes, slightly sweet in the aftertaste
-overall fairly smooth

Flavors: Molasses, Raisins, Roasted, Smooth, Toasted Rice, Toasty

Preparation
195 °F / 90 °C 2 min, 45 sec

Sipdown :(

I got a turtle chocolate vibe from this. (here in western Canada we have a chocolate shop called Purdy’s that has the world’s best version of a turtle with high quality milk or dark chocolate, salted pecans, and amazing caramel. This is what I think of when I consider chocolate/caramel/pecans, but I suppose Turtles are a well-recognised brand in the US)

-dark chocolate and cocoa
-very nutty pecan flavour
-the second and third steep had more sweetness to them
-a complex base made from a bunch of teas that go very well together

Flavors: Cocoa, Dark Chocolate, Nuts, Nutty, Pecan, Sweet, Tannin

Preparation
170 °F / 76 °C 5 min, 15 sec

Woah, this tastes like a spa. It is pretty tasty (but medicinal). Coconut and lemongrass are prominent at first, and then some herbs like eucalyptus, ginger, cardamom, and mint come out in the aftertaste. Great hot or iced.

Flavors: Cardamom, Coconut, Eucalyptus, Ginger, Herbs, Lemongrass, Medicinal, Mint

Preparation
195 °F / 90 °C 2 min, 0 sec

Bio

I am a biochem major hoping for a career in research genetics and evolutionary biology. I love science fiction and spend too much of my time reading comic books. I’m a passionate keeper of spiders, cacti, and exotic plants. I eat a vegan, plant-based diet for moral and environmental reasons (I mention this only because it is relevant to which flavoured teas I drink).

I drink mostly flavoured and low caffeine teas/tisanes, but I will try anything twice. As far as pure teas go, I gravitate towards whites, yellows, and jade oolongs. I’m always open for trades and sample sales/exchanges. Message me any time :)

My cupboard is mostly up to date. For a more comprehensive list, see my stash spreadsheet here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-HjWKR3um-xEnj6HC9vMvKXOAyj_bpW5u_2ixEC20-k/edit?usp=sharing
Most of these are only tiny samples/I can’t always spare any, but feel free to ask.
