308 Tasting Notes

I’ll admit that after sampling Glazed Donut and French Toast I wasn’t expecting much from this blend. This morning I was pleasantly surprised by this little cuppa, even without adding sweetener. The flavor is slightly sweet and caramel-like. As with the other black tea blends I’ve tried recently from 52Teas, the base in this blend is delicious and smooth. While the blend tastes a bit astringent to my palate, I don’t get bitter at all (another pleasant surprise). I will enjoy sipping down my 0.5-ounce bag and look forward to trying more black tea blends by 52Teas in the future.

This is a lovely autumn tea. With a few drops of stevia this reads spiced sugar cookie topped with pumpkin butter to my tastebuds. The pumpkin flavor really lingers for me (which is great), and I don’t find the spice to be too overwhelming. This would make a great latte. I’m excited to find a company that is doing pumpkin teas that aren’t super heavy on the spice.

Great googly moogly. I was expecting to like this tea (that’s why I bought 2 ounces without sampling), but it’s so much better than I expected. I’m drinking it iced with the tiniest bit of stevia and it’s absurdly delicious. It tastes very much like rainbow sherbet to my tastebuds, heavy on the raspberry (which I love). The vanilla flavoring adds a lovely creaminess. I think I prefer it to the California Sunshine, which isn’t all that surprising since this is a black tea and CS is a green tea (not my fave). I will definitely be repurchasing this if it returns.

Now that this tea has been discontinued, I am kicking myself for not trying it sooner. The flavors are simple but delicious. White tea, mulberries, coconut and vanilla beautifully balanced in this light, naturally (but not sickeningly) sweet blend. I just placed a DT order last week, but I will have to buy a few more bags of this tea before it disappears. It’s so refreshing chilled or iced.

This tasting note is for the newer version of this tea (ingredients: black teas, cinnamon, calendula petals and natural flavors). I’m getting mostly cinnamon on a light base. Any toast notes are minimal, at best. I added a touch of sweetener to see if any of the other notes were amplified. Unfortunately, they were not. Maybe the toast notes were lost in the reformulation?? I’m happy to have sampled it. I do love black teas, especially in the morning, but I think I’ll be passing this particular blend on to someone else.

I had really high hopes after opening the bag and sniffing the blend. It did not disappoint. I love all the different citrus flavors and the fact that they are all detectable on my palate. I imagine it’d be even better with a touch of sweetener, but I’m so happy that I am enjoying it unsweetened. I’ve only tried it iced and it is delicious. Another winner from 52Teas, a company that is quickly winning me over.

I got this as a bonus tea with my order of samplers. The donut flavor is very, very subtle. I imagine if I added sweetener I’d get more donut flavor. It’s a nice vanilla tea but it’s fairly nondescript. That said, I love the base teas that 52Teas are using in their black tea blends – so smooth.

My taster bag is quickly disappearing and I’m kicking myself for not purchasing a large bag (or several large bags, truthfully) when I had the chance. The tea isn’t as creamy as I was hoping for. In fact it’s more vanilla than it is cream, but I can forgive that because the cranberry flavor is on point – very natural, slightly sweet and moderately tart. The spice is, thankfully, barely there. It just highlights the cranberry flavor and makes this tea feel very autumnal. I’ve been really enjoying this tea hot which is rare for me. Apart from breakfast teas, I tend to only drink black teas iced unless they’re prepared as lattes. This might be one of my favorite teas featuring the cranberry.

This is one of the first 52Teas blends I’ve tried. I placed a large order of sample packs last week and this is one of the few that isn’t a black tea so I’ve brought it to work to enjoy at the office. I’m currently drinking cold-brewed coffee with almond milk in the mornings, so I’ll save the black teas to enjoy after I’ve had the last of my cold-brew concentrate.

I digress.

I like this. The flavor is quite subtle but it’s tasty. The white tea base doesn’t overwhelm the light fruity flavors. The pineapple comes through more than the watermelon, but this is one of the few watermelon teas I’ve tried that I actually enjoy drinking. Imagine that. I’m having it over ice this afternoon. I think it’d be even better with a touch of sweetener, but I’m winding down my 150-day Whole30 journey so I’m abstaining from added sweeteners until March.

I tried this tea both hot (last night) and cold-steeped this morning. It’s not for me. I’m not terribly jazzed about cherry teas to begin with, but this tasted a lot like Luden’s cough drops. I’m glad I only had a sample and didn’t splurge on a bag or two. No bueno.

I didn’t care for this one either :/

I’m not crazy about cherry teas to begin with, but I like the idea of cherry and coconut together. I’ve yet to find a cherry tea that I’m over the moon about.
