drank Jasmine Golden Yunnan by thepuriTea
2816 tasting notes

Tea of the morning here. I forgot I had this until I was poking around in my cupboards yesterday, sometimes having too much tea is perilous because you forget about stuff you have and really enjoy!

I’m still not feeling great, my cold is still lingering and my tastebuds are still off, but I am still getting a nice jasmine-y note from this one as well as chocolate. I’m not always such a big fan of jasmine (especially the artificial kind) but when jasmine teas are done right they can be very good if I am in the mood for them. Too bad thePuritea is out of business, I liked several of their offerings.

Happy Tuesday!

Tisane of the evening here. This is a weird tea to be drinking in the middle of June but it still gets chilly here in San Francisco in the summer time. :)

I don’t put stevia in a lot of things, but a couple drops in this made it sweeter and a bit more cookie like. Also soy milk, but I put that in practically everything other than green teas and herbals. I think I’m feeling better, or maybe my Tylenol is just kicking in? Have a good evening everyone!

Boiling 6 min, 45 sec

drank Coco Chai Rooibos by DAVIDsTEA

Not being terribly productive today. I was on the phone with my BF earlier and lost my voice… bleah. Not up to doing much but can’t take a nap due to drinking too much caffeine earlier.

I decided to have this and threw in some extra ginger root. It’s still difficult to taste much but I’m definitely getting a zingy kick out of this concoction. Okay, on to try and do some more reading, maybe if I break it up into smaller chunks it will be do-able.

Veronica

Being sick and having to study sucks. I hope you feel better soon!

TeaBrat

Thanks, I am studying English grammar today which is a VERY dry subject but after that is over I will be able to write a fun essay (hopefully tomorrow!)

This was a tea I bought during my FF darjeeling obsession in 2012 – unfortunately I bought so much darjeeling I couldn’t really drink it all and some of it still languishes in my cupboard. I heard that cold brewing a FF darjeeling is tasty, my attempt was not so great. I find it got a little bit astringent/bitter although I know my tastebuds are off due to this cold I am fighting off. I might have to give up on this one soon and just pitch it. I know this tea would have been best consumed within a year of my purchasing it. I think I will try it at least once more hot.

This is an interesting tea I haven’t been drinking too much of lately. It has such a light base and it was really meant to be more of an afternoon/evening tea according to the company. I’ve been trying to drink my black teas in the morning and drink lighter things after noon. I find it is good with additions or without, it doesn’t really NEED them. Might be good with a squeeze of lemon also since it has a bit of a citrus-y note. I should really try this one iced to see if I like it that way.

Still feeling under the weather but need to find the energy today to do my homework for writing class – wish me luck!

Good luck :-)

Thanks, I am an expert on goofing off. :-P

TheTeaFairy

Oh, that’s an expertise of mine as well ;-)

Good luck!

Mmmmm…
This is a good herbal and so healthy too. I need to be drinking more of this. The only time when I add coconut oil to my tea is when I am drinking this (due to the fact that some fat will help you absorb the turmeric).

I am going back to a gluten free diet tomorrow, I’ve been slacking a lot these past few weeks but I think it’s helpful for reducing muscle inflammation (for me anyway) and I really need that.

This is another tea that I never seem to drink unless I’m sick. I have no idea why, since it is actually very tasty. Sweet and savory at the same time! I think perhaps drinking rosemary is a little bit weird for me, I like rosemary but I normally associate it with food. It’s really good on grilled vegetables!

I should get to drinking this soon because I’ve had it for around a year according to Steepster. Would anyone like a sample?

If you’re willing to ship to Canada, I’d love to try some! If not, I’ll be in SF mid-July…

TeaBrat

Sure, DM me your address, I got nothing but time right now being unemployed… lol

Emilie

I absolutely love rosemary, but I definitely see it as a food flavor. I have trouble imagining it in a tea. Though if it was going to be in one, white teas seems like the best option.

Cheri

I also absolutely love Rosemary. I try it in all kinds of things. (Right now, I’m using a rosemary soap.) I would love a sample. Let me know if there’s anything in my cupboard you would like to try.

drank Throat Comfort by Yogi Tea
2816 tasting notes

Took a walk down to the farmer’s market today, maybe getting loaded up on fruits and vegetables will be good for my immune system??

Anyway I decided I was going to pick this up on the way home and drink some today. Here’s the ingredients list:
Licorice Root
Fennel Seed
Wild Cherry Bark
Cinnamon Bark
Orange Peel
Slippery Elm Bark
Cardamom Seed
Ginger Root
Mullein Leaf
Clove Bud
Black Pepper

This is like a cornucopia of spices, but not exactly pleasant tasting. It seems like a spicy licorice soup if you ask me. Aside from the licorice there’s also black pepper and ginger that seem really strong. It’s a bit like a chai but not nearly as palatable. I would not recommend this solely on the basis of the flavor, but it is a medicinal tea after all. Hopefully it will do the trick and help dispel my germs. I used two teabags for a large mug of tea.

My goodness, if that list of ingredients doesn’t make you feel better, I don’t know what will!
Feel better :-)

gmathis

If it wasn’t for that nasty licorice :) Unfortunately, I think that’s the key throat-soothing ingredient.

TeaBrat

I don’t hate licorice as much as other people seem to. It does always overwhelm everything else in a tea though.

Plunkybug

I hate everything licorice-like, so that includes fennel and anise as well. Some types of cinnamon too.

Plunkybug

But yeah, it’s a key factor in the sore throat stuff.

This is a tea that I drink rarely, mostly because between the licorice and the stevia it is so sweet and really strong. I seem to remember that licorice is very helpful for sore throats and coughs, so I thought I would drink this one today and see if it helps. I have another licorice tea from Yogi tea, maybe I will break that one out as well. Can’t really taste much so this isn’t offending me at the moment…lol

Flavors: Cinnamon, Licorice, Peppermint

I hope you feel better! Gross licorice. XP

TeaBrat

Thanks, it’s such a weird time of year to be coming down with a cold. Licorice can be gross but there’s nothing better if you have a sore throat and a cough.

Tea of the morning here. My boyfriend was not that impressed when I told him this was the tea that got thrown into the Boston Harbor. :P He isn’t that picky about tea and went to Starbucks to get a coffee… ha

This is definitely a strong tea with some mild smoky notes, though not like a full blown lapsang. I enjoy this, though it isn’t an everyday tea for me. I actually need to do some tea shopping because I am need of a basic yunnan and a basic assam.

Thanks to the Steepster buddies who sent me some samples recently. I am coming down with a cold and have been coughing since yesterday so this isn’t the best time to try something new. I hope to try them soon, however!

I hope you feel better. I’m sending you some Golden Orchid

TeaBrat

Ooooh! I’ve been really wanting to try that. Let me know if I can send you anything in return. I have a ton of tea!

MzPriss

I saw on another thread that you wanted to try it, so some will be coming your way – hope you feel better

TeaBrat

you rock!
